@weenancyinAmerica I hope you are safe from the fires and the fall out from them.
Finally I have something to declare departed other than the usual weekly detritus. 😁
Going back to the Covid time, sat in the middle of my field in France, I started on using up some of my yarn stash crocheting hats, scarves and a couple of blankets. They were intended for rough sleepers but when I offered them to the local charity, they refused them. They didn't want home-made items! It was because if the items contained wool then they wouldn't dry out. So a blanket ban on them and only things like purchased Thinsulate (sp) acceptable.
Today I went to my local food bank which it turns out is also a community hub, and they were more than happy to accept them. So, 12 scarves, 19 hats, 10 hat and scarf sets, 2 single blankets and a large lap blanket left the house today. 😁
However, yesterday in came 3kg of Seville oranges so I'll be re-cluttering with marmalade over the weekend. 🤣🤣
It's been chilly here again today but so far no snow, at least none that's settled that I have seen.
The heating has been cutting in all day so I guess I'll be decluttering ££ on the gas and electric.
Stay safe and warm everyone. DxAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Thank you Mrs. S_D, So far we are okay. Fires are about 30 miles from me. My sister lives on one side of one of the bigger fires and her son on the other, fortunately the fire is moving up the mountain behind them. The church they attend is in the evacuation zone, but looks like it is okay so far. Unfortunately we have several more days of winds still and absolutely no rain anywhere in site. The helicopters dropping water on the fires are resorting to using sea water in places, but it is not good for the houses and plants in the future. But if it saves more of the houses, it is worth trying. Over 25,000 acres have burned so far including schools, churches, museums, libraries, and state parks plus over 2000 houses (probably a lot more than that). Whole towns are gone. Of course, the politicians are blaming each other, but no one can control the wind which has gusted over 100 miles per hour in places.23

Muddy_Walker - I think my mental health will suffer in my present situation.
Social services and the other person who phoned me were saying about having to pay for care.
Mr F doesn't have much in the way of savings.
We own the house as tenants in common with me owning 95% of the property. This was put into place 22 years ago, after I sold my house because Mr F even though he had business indemnity insurance didn't want to risk me having nowhere to live.
I have also used money from my house sale to renovate this property without which it would not raise a good price if we ever wanted to sell.
We have no joint accounts.
I don't want to move.

So whilst the kettle was boiling I bagged up the cooked apples & took them to the garage freezer & decanted the last of the teabags from the large bag to a jar. I was just getting settled when DH & DSis got back from the sm. Took me a while to unpack the bags, decant foodstuffs from plastic packaging & put everything away so ended up just watching TV 😉 Cheerleading continues with posts from the 6th
Liverpool_Anne, I hope your team won on Sunday so that it was worth getting freezing wet feet 😉 Might be time for some new footwear 🤔 Hope you managed to get the ‘relocated from car’ bags re-sorted & that most if not all of the contents are now gone completely🤞As you say, if your OH hasn’t missed any of it for 11 months then hopefully decisions will be easier 2nd time around 🤞Good luck 🍀
Florenceem, hope you managed to post all the sale items that you wrapped on Sunday🤞
Great work TC77 👏 & pleased to hear that DD2 has pitched in with some decluttering 😊
London_1, pleased to hear that the snow missed you on Saturday 😊 & hope that the wind & rain on Sunday & Monday didn’t cause too many issues 🤞I am also hoping that your smile persuaded the dustmen to take ALL your rubbish 😉 so that you do Not have to do a Tip run 🤞Snowdrops are so cheery 😀 Sounds like your eldest DD & her OH are having an absolutely marvellous time in New York with granddaughter Daisy 🤩 She sounds like a real live wire 🥹 I think your DD might need another holiday when she gets back 😉 a nice quiet one 😅 Good luck sorting books 🍀
Excellent work foxandflowers 👏 Now that most of your belongings are in storage I do hope you don’t have to live for too long with just the basics 🤞Good luck selling the bedroom furniture 🍀 Not sure about wardrobe selling etiquette 🧐 presumably it depends on the size 🤔
Another page done. Just about to have dinner - fish, oven chips & peas. Back later 👋
