2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering
£1600+ made on vinted since 2023 ⚜ we could get better, because we're not dead yet - frank turner. ❧ ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not doing a lot as in the electricians way. Just pottering around. Went with DIL to drop off DS2's car for MOT after taking children to school. I have a lady who wants my last few packing boxes - she has family health issues so I have said I will hang onto them until she is able to come and fetch them. Electricians are in garage - it will be nice to have a light in there. My outside lights on sides of house are really nice. Trying to plan in my head for the next stage - plasters, decorators and joiners I think. Need to ring up about my audiology appointment. I think everything will have to come out of cupboards for dusting so that may throw up a few things to go.
82 Banking done - I found £61 interest had appeared in one account on 31 December - I hadn't seen that so a bonus.
Good to hear you had a better day @Florenceem. Thanks for the tip @Liverpool_Anne, I keep looking at the crochet classes at my local hobby craft so might give it a go when I've finished the cross stitch stuff.
Been very much in the kitchen planning headspace the last couple of days and think we've finally decided the plan and what we need so not a lot of decluttering going on but:
82. Candle used up 83. Random cardboard recycled

Coldest night for us so far last night, -8. Set to start to get warmer from now on. Bring it on, sleeping with a cat the size of a Jack Russel isn't very restful. We keep having flurries of snow but the snow underneath is a sheet of ice. Not as severe as some of you have had I am sure.
Good to hear that you and yours are ok Weenancy. You have been telling us for years that California has had no rain, a tinder box waiting for a disaster to happen.
I saw the decluttering programme too, as you say nice to see Dilly.
Thanks for the crochet information Liverpool Anne. It will be a while. I started to sew up DS's jumper last night and realised it would be far too big for him. I have unravelled it and have started again . I followed the pattern for his size and am now making the smallest size. He is a big lad (rugby player size) but not that big! Safe travels today.x
We are on track to meet up at the petting farm on Sunday. The little fella is obsessed by horses ever since he met some on a nursery trip. He carries a small plastic horse about with him. Even better it should be a bit warmer by then too.
Gang meeting this afternoon. The lady who has made the blanket has made a little doll, she has got the bug.
My efforts have temporarily stalled due to a grotty cold, and I still have a good third of the skip to fill. I am feeling a bit better today so I will start again.
What is lovely is that I am now starting to have areas of 'clear' - it has been years since we have had those. Mr Redo re-filled them just as fast as I emptied them!
Ten things decluttered yesterday. Five from my son's bedroom, 3 from the kitchen and two from my bedroom. I am trying to pick up things that are finished with or that can be donated as I move around the house. My main objective for today is to stay close to the fire but I do have a pile of charity shop stuff that can be counted and bagged so an easy win there.
@Florenceem my thoughts are with you - it's hard looking after someone so dependant. I hope that you manage to sort some help today.
Was it @Liverpool_Anne who asked about the tin opener? I use one from Amazon: search for "OXO Good Grips" - it was not very expensive, has lasted a couple of years with no sign of giving up yet, and is excellent for gripping even if, like me, you have arthritis in your hands. They do a whole range of kitchen tools with oversized, cushioned handles.
Florenceem, sending you a lovely virtual hug and best wishes to you and MrF, you are such a strong lady, as you've shown through your postings over the last year and more. I really hope you get a clearer idea of what's going on very soon x

Sorry Florenceem, we cross posted. I hope the hospital can have a better look at Mr F. Such fast deterioration seems a bit unusual. Make sure that they know that last month he could make it out and go for messages on his own.
