Have you considered taking him to A&E at all?
I don't want to sound unkind but surely he ought to be seen and checked over.
@Florenceem could your daughter ask a colleague to fast-track his MRI, and could she arrange an urgent GP appointment for him? Has she seen him recently?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

afternoon all
Mrs sd thank you for my medals 😀
Hugs for all who need them, or even just want them 🤗 ❤ 🤗
Florenceem is there anyone who could stay overnight with you to let you get at least one decent nights sleep?
I've been writing my targets in my diary for each day and it seems to be helping. Xmas all back upstairs in attic. I've made a note of what's in each box so if we are still in this house in Dec we know what boxes need to come down and which can stay up tgere (extra tree branches for example that we don't need in this house as that tree goes in the corner of staircase and wall so we can't get many branches on the back of the tree). Boxes themselves were condensed and some stuff ready to go to CS in November, things we really didn't need this year. I might try to declutter another card/present next year too, its one we post to each other and its getting so the postage is dearer than the pressie.
I got a box out the attic and the items in have been either bucketed or displayed. Some things I didn't know I had of course, some things I'd kept before but now can release ie engagement cards from first mr d. I was only married to him for a few years, I don't seem to have the ones from current mr d who has stuck around for over 30 years 🤔 I think they can go. Plus my teenage diaries. Some of it is fun to re read, some just cringy. (Oddly I may have mentioned in passing current mr d (we all went to local schools) but I cant be sure and I very much doubt he would remember standing outside a local rugby club disco on a particular night more than 40 years ago 😆. ) I will continue reading them then I think they should go on the fire too. I would be horrified if anyone else read them. Full of he said and I said and then she said 😆
We have made a start on a HUGE LONG LASTING frog. That deserves capitals. Mr d wrote a book about 30 years ago. Longhand in jotters. It began to be typed onto floppy discs ! Then got typed again onto the current form of computers and printed out (all of this was done in working hours and using work equipment, naughty mr d !) but has never been proof read. He emailed it all home from one of his jobs and luckily its still saved on home computer so we found it yesterday. I don't think he could face starting typing it a third time. Finally, I am making time each day to start going through it to correct spelling (too/to, off/of he just cannot get right) plus we are tightening up the story. 390 printed pages. I've done 7 I think 😆 don't go looking for it in your local bookshop quite yet lol. If we had got on with it at the time, we might all be seeing film no 4 in the pictures and the Daisies would be comfortable for life ! Ah well, better now than never.
Onwards and upwards declutterati

What you and MrF are going through is horrendous! You must be worried sick. And so tired.
I second WickedLady's concern. The number of falls he's had must be really worrying and it's a blessing that, so far, he hasn't been seriously hurt.
As she suggests, is it possible for you to take him to A&E? Or, if you don't have a car available, perhaps the next time he falls you could consider calling an ambulance - just in case there's an underlying injury. I don't want to sound alarmist, and - me, you sound like the sort of person who doesn't like to make a fuss - but surely it's better safe than sorry?
Apologies for sounding pushy, but I'm really concerned for you both.

AWARDS 💐⭐22 -
To go from the wardrobe cull 5 summer tops, There will be more when I attempt to wear them in the summer and decide I don't like them anymore. I have a ridiculous amount of smart black trousers and white linen trousers, same for them. I do have an array of sizes though due to yoyo weight. It seems I have 16 sparkly tops to go with the smart black trousers and 2 evening dresses. I think I may try and sell some of the sparkly tops, I have even too many for me. Just need some Summer now to wear all the summer clothes I have. Says she when the snow flakes falling outside are like dinner plates.
Next in my sights will be the two sets of drawers in the living room.
Also to go when we next go out, a bag of old batteries and a bag of soft plastics.

WickedLady4 - I spent 6 hours on Christmas day at A & E with Mr F. Since coming back from SA today - Mr F has stayed awake. I have told him how tired I am after he kept me awake last night. I said to him about sitting on the bed for 2 and a half hours and he just says - I was getting undressed so I said what all that time and he repeats - I was getting undressed.
Floss - I agree that A & E is not the place for Mr F. Our unit is always heaving - people in corridors on chairs and trolleys.
I will just have to phone at 8 am and get an emergency appointment but I don't know what they can do as we were there last week and referred for the mri. My daughter lives away - last saw Mr F at beginning of September - she is not Mr F's daughter. Mr F has no children - in fact no family in the UK - just an elderly aunt in Germany who he hasn't seen for years.
basketcase - the wait time for an ambulance here is hours and they are overwhelmed. If I thought Mr F had broken something I would phone. I am just patching him up after his falls as it is cuts and bruises.
He is eating and drinking - I just don't know what to do.

have just read back. It seems to be getting to crunch time again Florenceem. You are so tired and worried, we are all worried and no one knows how to help you. I do so hope that you can get through to the GP that you are at your wits end . It is very isolating to be in this position as we found with my MIL. I so hope you can access some help. How about Age Concern for some advice? Adult social services? We are all rooting for you.
Daisy, how exciting, a book.Kudos Mr D. We look forward to the launch party. I have a monumental frog to eat this year and actually get my idea onto paper.

Florencem is there anyone in SA who has connections who can help you? If a friend of yours was in this situation what would your advice be to them?

Muddy_Walker - hard to say what my advice would be - it depends on an individual situation. Someone else may be happy to have a carer come in and sit with their poorly person but for me that would take away the spontaneity in life. If I couldn't just decide - oh I feel like a trip into town but the carer is not here for 3 days. I don't think I would cope with that sort of life.
At various times I have thought about - having Mr F sectioned - when he has been acting really weird.
Other times I think he may need residential care but he is only 72. What would people think if I put him into a home. Just so hard knowing what path to follow.
If I contact social services - they may talk about safety in the home - I have all the aids in place after Mr F being in hospital in 2023. Then they may offer a carer to come in and sit while I go out and I have already given my thoughts on that.
So it seems I soldier on and hope Mr F gets better or at least shows no more deterioration or make a big decision about residential care.
My life living as one of a couple is over if Mr F goes into a home.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
