Wow, how amazing is this runaway train? How amazing is Mrs SD?
I like pottery throw down too Mrs SD, have you seen the programme about Keith's renovation of a chapel in Pwllheli,North Wales? He seems such a nice chap.
Thanks for the idea about an enforcement order for the broken drain Floss. I think this has been mentioned before by the council, but I will follow it up if the local council and the flood team person shows up.
Out today, very worn out leggings and a broken pepper mill.
I got one sofa's seat cushions covers washed and put back on. Sofa 2 is tomorrow plus the throws. Also on my agenda is go through the bookcase and my wardrobe. I am having trouble shutting the doors!
My plan is when I have been through all the cupboards and drawers, I am going to spring clean.
Oh , I phoned the Estate agent today and knocked 10k off the price of my Mum's house. January Sale!

Gosh, supersonic train, think we must beating a world record.
Mrs SD please realise we are happy for a general cheerlead so that you don't spend too much time here ... I don't think Mr SD or your DSis would thank us.
DD2 has created piles for CS and her uniform from 18 months ago when she left school, just taken name tapes off before passing on.
ood food x 5 including baking stuff,
Another big frog, or a step on a multi stage mega frog - and yes Mrs SD you're right frogs can take much longer and will note here but won't count.
Also small bits out and some paper and an item sold and packaged so 74.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Well that didn’t go quite to plan 🙁 what I had earmarked for dinner is out on the lawn for the birds. New plan, DH is ordering pizza. Of course the silver lining is that I can do a bit more cheerleading & you never know I might even get to the 4th January 😉 The pizza was delicious & plenty left for snacks. Wudupa
31 - 34 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 0.5” recycling, magazine - recycled
35 - 36 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Continuing with replying to the 3rd of January’s posts 😉
dND, sorry to hear that the 3rd was “one of those days with more steps back than forward!” 😔 However reading through your post I would say that you had a ‘Major Win’ 🥳 after all you went into a CS, had a good rummage & walked out again with your purse/wallet unopened 🎉 who would have ‘thunk’ it 😊
~FlowerPot~ an absolutely stunning photo 🤩
Janeryan, hopefully one of our fellow declutterati will update you or at least point you in the right direction re the numbering system re moving house 😊 An excellent daily total 👏
redofromstart, I imagine your skip is no longer empty (after all I am several days behind on the cheerleading) 😉
Excellent decluttering Blue_Doggy 👏 you were certainly busy on the 3rd 🤩
Wednesday2000, it might have only been 2 old socks out on the 3rd but you are still moving in the right direction 👏
Excellent decluttering florianatwobob 👏 Particularly impressed with the ‘1 In, 2 Out’ re the jewellery stands 😊
Excellent decluttering Muddy_Walker & a full day’s work as well 👏 and to round it all off a long hot shower 😊 A lovely positive post & I am so pleased that you are taking things a bit slower & looking after your mind as well as your body 🥹 Love the terrarium, so beautiful 😍
Good work BlueJ94 👏 A new hob & new pans - enjoy 😊
oceanspirit, great work by both you & OH 👏 With two of you pitching in, everything will be so much easier & quicker 😊
D123456789, any chance of a picture of the fridge organisers 🙏 I am currently using small takeaway boxes which are not ideal 😉
Good work Blue_Doggy 👏
Excellent & eclectic decluttering gsdloopy 👏 Such a shame about the trinket jar 😔 I love the idea that the yarn doesn’t count as an ‘IN’ whilst it is still in the car 😂
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Pity you lost your list 😔 New list required tout suite 😉 I love the idea that DD1 will be ‘shopping’ in your house 🥹 Win-Win as you will be decluttering & DD1 will be saving money 🥳 There was still some port left even after 3 days 😉 so I had a wee glass or 2 🥴
SuperLooperSaver, some great tips to mitigate the potential chaos of moving house 👏
I am breaking off to do a little jig around the lr as I am about to start the cheerleading for posts dated 4th January 💃
daisy_1571, a fairly comprehensive list of tips to help with moving house - thank you for taking the time to prepare & post 👏 A 2nd medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂
Great work Brambling 👏 especially the 1 In, 1 Out for your clothing 😊
I have reached the end of another page so I will post. Sleep tight everyone 😴

~FlowerPot~ said:Afternoon fellow declutteri, it appears my last post has disappeared!this morning was spent havig a medical app. menopause stuff, i just hope the treatment suggested helps!! She also suggested i go to a bereavement group, which i was quite shocked about and never considered before. My sistter died 3 years ago and i clearly havent 'got over it' !! i have just assumed it will get better in time and suck it up. but she thinks it might help. anyone been to one? i suspect it will be mostly older people grieving their life partners, not grieving a sibling , hmmm, will have a ponder!
As an aside, I'm not sure anyone can 'get over' a bereavement such as that, depending on your relationship and closeness of course. I certainly haven't gotten over my mum passing and that is over 9 years ago now. You just learn to accept that now it is part of you. Well, that's how I feel about it anyway.
Bit deep for a Tuesday morning, but I thought I would share my experience.
As an aside, thanks for allowing me to join the decluttering, I am on holiday from tomorrow until 16th but when I am back I will start and will be aiming to rid this house of 2025 items in 2025.

Hi all, slow day yesterday. I spent most of the morning dealing with text messages about the funeral of my friend's dh who passed away suddenly just before Christmas. It is on Friday so I will be going to that but I was an information point for a group of friends. When I wasn't texting about that I was on the phone trying, unsuccessfully, to book an appointment with the podiatrist. I think they must still be on holiday as nobody was answering the phone. I did some work on my accounts, not really a budget yet but moving towards it. 1 LDFPA from the maiden and a load of OH's jeans washed. The Christmas cards etc are down but not yet really dealt with and I spent a while going through emails. I am now going through things that have been filed and weeding out the ones I don't have to keep, ood info or things I have realised I really won't deal with
so 200 deleted. I am trying to deal with them daily but I still have 300 in my inbox and far too much junk filed. I took the baby blanket in to show ln and to get the address to send it to her grandson but she thinks her dd will be visiting before the baby is born so she is checking with her. She is trying to save me the postage but I just want it out of the house
I have had a little rummage in my yarn stash and I might have enough for the next blanket if I do it a bit smaller but I need to check it in daylight hours so that is a job for today.
I failed miserably to persuade OH to sort through the boxes and bags dumped in the hall but I did my chauffeur duty to collect OH's car from the garage after it's service and MOT so I will see how long it takes to get the stuff back in the boot. I will give it a week and I will try again.
The snow went, washed away by the rain but as I was on my way to bed it was snowing again, about 2 inches. This really is quite unusual as we are a city near the coast, it usually passes us by and neighbour over the back spent ages today clearing it off the roof of his shed before it rainedI am expecting OH to have a snow day so the kitchen will probably be in use
I am reading all the posts but my we are whizzing along, 4 pages a day and I think of things to say but by the time I get to post I have forgotten but
@vulpix yes I am a saint and I never tire of telling OH 😇😂. Unfortunately we only have the wood shed and small garden tool shed, no room for OH's car junk
@Florenceem could it be the medication Mr F is taking that is making him sleepy. All in all another conversation with the Dr might be needed, hugs
Right off for another cuppa and a think about plans for today.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
36 LDFPA
37 & 38 emails permanently deleted

Take care everyone

@LittleMissDetermined, I agree I don't think you "get over" a bereavement. I always say that the pain never leaves you, you just learn to live with it. My Dad died 35 years ago and my Mum 30 years ago and I still miss them, especially my Dad who I was quite close to, hugs

Morning all. Firstly many thanks to all of you for kind thoughts on the family's recent loss. I don't know the couple really and probably saw my great nephew last at his grandfather (my brother's) funeral. His grandma was one of our party on the French trip last year and she had been very excited about the babies. Very sad.
Thanks to Mrs SD for my first medal of the year. I seem to be existing in a pall of dust after yesterday's start by the electricians. I have wooden floors but they were unable to get below the floor because of rubble, shallowness in places and dividing walls so they are having to chase walls down from loft for new cable - good job I know I need to decorate but its going to look a mess for a long while. Tomorrow they suggested I go out which fits in with meeting which I have and then I can go to town. Roofer came and did inside of alleyway roof and it looks really smart. They should be here in a bit to do roof felting on garage. They are also due to clean the gutters for me. I have asked for a quote to reroof small brick garden shed as it was raining in there. Roof is corrugated tin at the moment. Only back wall looks like it might potentially contain asbestos so they will keep away from that. They are also coming to measure up my windows for replacement today.
33 Deleted 500 plus emails permanently from archive
34 Emptied another box - cardboard so for recycling
35 Fitted wardrobes in room of doom emptied and broken up. Outside in back garden for later disposal.
36 Set of shelving off wall in same room - plastic brackets in bin and shelves in disposal pile
37 Section of carpet under wardrobes to bin - very interesting colours and design!
38 Safe in bottom of wardrobes to DS2 - I already have one
39/40 Two boxes of electric/computer bits left with DS2
41 In car Alexa to DS2 to sell
42 Various items put up for sale by DIL
43 Day 1 of electricians survived - random items binned as found
44 Day 2 of roofers survived - alleyway roof completed and any rubbish taken away
There were 7 work vans in my road yesterday - I have started a trend. I am off to get some plastic sheeting as I have no old sheets due to remove clear out. I think I will have new lights today which might mean I can see better in the rather dingy rooms. Only the kitchen has decent lighting at the moment.

Wow @GrannyKate things are moving apace. Makes me tired just thinking about it😃 I agree @LittleMissDetermined with all the wise words. Grief is a very personal experience for everyone and no two people will deal with it in the same way. I lost my parents nearly three years ago. They died within 7 weeks of each other. I told myself that it was the way of things and they’d both had long and fulfilled lives and that I should be thankful for that. However I still miss them every day and live with a sadness all the time, but it’s one of the penalties of love that endures. What would our lives have been like without all those that we’ve loved over the years. Things still creep up on you unexpectedly and you find yourself shedding a tear and thinking a sad thought, but I think it’s your mind’s way of helping you cope and it’s true what people say time is a great healer and brings happier thoughts to the fore. Sorry that was a bit of a ramble. Take good care x22

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger. I used the 3 “ lazy Susan’s” in the cupboard for medications, spices, and condiments. The 2 fridge organisers I am using for cheese and cooked meats, and I might buy a 3rd as it would look nice in the bottom shelf to match. Not sure it’s worthy of a photo but here goes19

Hmm, I used to have a Lazy Susan and I think it broke. I might buy another one as they are good for making more space.2025 GOALS
