Siebrie said:...wrote out our spending habits (I hesitate to call it a budget at this stage) by hand. DDs watched me do it these 2 days and had many questions. DD2 promised me she would get such a good job later that I'd never have to worry about spending. Yeah, we're not poor, I just don't know where the money is going and that makes me hesitate to spend any. Tonight I'll fill in the budget excel sheet from MSE.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Yesterday I did a 10 min declutter of drawers, loads more space now. I also batch cooked a couple of meals for the week.
Today I only decluttered an appointment at the hospital - next one is Feb when I will know the results of treatment.
Cat litter trays changed before I went and collected meds once I came home.
@Florenceem I really hope that Mr F gets a diagnosis soon. Make sure you care for yourself too.
@GrannyKate I'm so sorry to hear the news - condolences to you and your family.“HUMAN BEINGS MAKE LIFE SO INTERESTING. DO YOU KNOW, THAT IN A UNIVERSE SO FULL OF WONDERS, THEY HAVE MANAGED TO INVENT BOREDOM. (Death)” - Sir Terry Pratchett18 -
I am being ruthless with my decluttering because I don’t want my new kitchen to be full of tat I have collected over the years that is doing nothing. Also the taking up and putting away/bring it down and sort is working really well…….i have never been so efficient🤣23) food flask into recycling.
24) glass that DD decorated in primary school. Debated a lot over this but I have kept a lot, abit too much of her school stuff so photographed it in case I want to use it in my scrapbooking.
25) natural kitchen decoration that was gifted several Christmas’s ago and is quite frankly manky!!-binned
26) small paint tray-recycling
27) packaging envelope I had kept to be reused…which was then destroyed by the cats, relevant bits into relevant recycling.28) decorative tin I’ve kept for ages as a ‘just in case’- recycling
29) eco lightbulb-recycling
30) some old empty packaging that i found, have no idea why empty socket point packaging was kept-recyclingFound some Christmas plastic bowls that I would have donated to the CS. As soon as I find a relevant box, will pop them in, store them by my Christmas stuff so I am reminded to drop them into the CS when the time comes for decs to go up again!

Hello, all.
I am a long-time lurker and reader and would like to join as I desperately need to clear out, tidy up and get organised. I might be a bit sporadic and quiet but I want to get rid of lots of the clutter from my life.
So far I have cleared out a sock drawer, getting rid of many odd, holey socks. Hopefully, it will be a productive year for all x19 -
So after the great sort and rearrange of the weekend 3 bags of stuff to the CS and a box of books to World of Books (£14+ coming back for the loft fund). I also rifled through my work from home drawers and found all my ancient notebooks which I need to send archive My current work project is included in the books and they may prove useful at some point in the far future.Actually I’m fairly certain no one will be able to decipher my random thoughts or handwriting but working for a cautious organisation means that whilst we have them they will never be needed. If I shred them there is guaranteed to be some nugget of gold that will be vital for auditing purposes. However I’m not saving them for Justin - they can go to archive for posterity!!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I have had an email from my energy company - I am now back in credit after Mr F's wrong meter reading. They refunded me £387!
Mr F did sit and do a bit on the word searches in between nodding off. There were 18 insect names to find - he said that 8 were not there.
They asked me at SA if Mr F would do a jigsaw puzzle but I don't think he has the dexterity to manage.
I have listed some items on V. I have a couple of parcels to wrap.
Need to get up early tomorrow as I am counting with C and I need to take Mr F along with me and he is very slow in the mornings.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Did anyone watch the new series of Pottery Throwdown? DSis picked Potter of the Week 😉 Ticked off some jobs from my To Do list: peeled & cooked apples; dealt with last year’s birthday cards - 0.5” recycling; filed paperwork; read magazine & completed competitions entry form. After rain this morning it has stayed dry with some sunshine 😊
mehefin, not so sure you are a cynic 🤔 Excellent decluttering 👏 I am constantly amazed at how much progress you are making 🥹
Brie, might be a slow start But it is a start 👏 No takers here for Walkers Baked crisps either 😂 although I am sure someone, somewhere must like them 🤨
BlueJ94, an unexpected bonus of tidying your work desk 🙂 Fingers crossed that the next item you find is a fiver 🤞
Welcome back aboard the EDT SuperLooperSaver 👋 Another one of our Declutterati family on the move 🤩 there must be something in the air 😊 Very pleased to see that you are making use of the facilities on the EDT 😊
D123456789, LO is very welcome 😊 & her enthusiasm for decluttering seems to have rubbed off on her Dad 🥳 Excellent decluttering all round especially as you are still the one who gets everything out of the house 👏 Oops to the freezer not closing properly 🙊 but at least fish is very good for you 😉 Hope you managed to bring something down from the loft 🤞
Well done on taking down your Christmas decorations on the 3rd grunnie 👏 Re the decorations for the CS, don’t forget to set a reminder of when to drop them off & more importantly where you have stashed them 😉
Excellent decluttering CRANKY40 👏 35 items out in 2 days is brilliant 😊 I know you said that you sorted the Pension frogs last year but I couldn’t let that pass without congratulating you 👏 especially as you have received your first payment 🥳
Time to sort dinner so I will post & run. I hope everyone has had a good day & has managed to stay warm & dry 🙂

I don't know how you keep up Mrs SD!
Todays efforts have been slightly hampered by the cracking cold DS1 kindly gifted to me. I did clear and clean the bathroom, and a black bag of stuff is ready to leave the building if it ever stops raining long enough to do so.
Absolute joy to have a clean and declutterered bathroom finally. It was the current work in progress when we lost Mr Redo, and until today it was still full of tools that I was cleaning round like some kind of odd memorial in the hope that he would magically come home and finish it . Daft really, and I told myself to get a grip and enjoy the nice room he had been working on for me.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Back to work for me today, so a much slower declutter. Only 5 towels donated to the local animal rescue and 4 books to CS. Am looking forward to 'shredageddon' on Friday when all the paperwork for the old house can finally go, should be a nice boost to the numbers.
Move went OK thank you MrsSD, and progress on the new house. Just need to do the final mortgage application on Friday once our sale is completed and then we should be moving in mid March, just in time to beat the stamp duty hike.
Quite a tiring first day back at work, news of lots of moving and shaking in the department from leavers to new starters to babies due this summer, so all I will achieve this evening is a cup of tea, some baby relating knitting and the commencement of decluttering some posh Xmas biccies we were gifted2025 in 2025- 2027/2025

Yes, Mrs SD, I watched Pottery Throwdown. I love it, it’s such a kind and supportive programme.
Today’s decluttering
Christmas cards taken down
decorations down, packed, and put away in the RoD again (not as impressive as it sounds: no tree, just a garland with some bits added round the mantelpiece and even that only got put up late on the afternoon of Christmas Eve)
Christmas mugs washed and put away - ordinary mugs put out
birthday card sent to friend
robin ornaments removed from mantelpiece and returned to display cabinet
ends of dinner candles binned
tea light holders washed and put away
candle sticks de-waxed, washed and put away
candle stick decorations binned as wax had dripped on them (no loss, as they were picks repurposed from a door wreath of a couple of years ago)
recycling bin put out for morning collection
upstairs, living room and kitchen recycling put in recycling bin“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
