Wednesday: A bright day & set to be warmer than yesterday (high 26°C, low 14°C) although not as sunny. DH was up early as he had an appointment in Harley Street for the laser treatment on his hands (Dupuytren’s). Just had a short chat with neighbour J. Now to start the cheerleading:
QueenJess, well down on sorting out so many “niggly jobs” 👏 sounds like your shopping trip has been very successful 😊 Excellent work decluttering your clothes 👏 & good luck with your new challenge of decluttering 150 things from your kitchen 🍀
YBR, excellent work by both you & DH 👏 sounds like the packing is going very well 🙂 especially as you are packing gardening tools 👏
CRANKY40, a busy Monday & Tuesday 👏 Great work sorting out “niggly jobs” that will make your life easier 👏 Good luck with your ‘To Do list’
12:53 DH just phoned - he is on his way home & is taking the opportunity to tick off 4 more bus numbers 😅
Lovely post Brie 😊
London_1, Excellent work in the garden by both you & DD 👏 I am awarding you each a Gold Star ⭐️ ⭐️ What a lovely son-in-law 🥹 not only treating you to steak but also doing the cooking 🤩 I am awarding him a medal🏅 Hope you enjoy your shopping trip 😉 This “Moral is never loan things out to 'friends'” reminded me of this “Neither a borrower nor a lender be” - never realised it was a Shakespeare quote from Hamlet or that there is more to the quote (…”For loan oft loses both itself and friend, And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry”) & in the context of the play refers to money. Isn’t it marvellous what you can find out on the internet 😊
TC77, sorry to hear that DD2 was ‘a bit annoyed’ that you went through her decluttering but hopefully she understands that you are just trying to be eco-friendly 🤞plus to me it sounds like you are honing your decluttering skills ready to tackle your own decluttering 😊
Brambling, now now ‘wagging finger emoji’ - from your description you are decluttering ‘tripping hazards’ & making your environment safe for when you return home after your surgery 👏 Re the T-shirts I would probably go the ‘rinse & spin’ route 😉
I have caught up a couple of pages so time to post 😉 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊 & I will see you later 👋

I think we just have 2 going spare.....They'll be snapped up in this weather either way! Why not try outside with a free note first as the path of least resistance, then if they don't go, list them.@Muddy_Walker so sorry for your loss. Please feel free to indulge in the banana choc chip loaf cake in the tlc carriage. According to DS, it is 10/10 good.Been spending time thinking about the kitchen declutter, but not a huge amount of action bar using up a lot of bananas from the freezer. I can't clear out the cupboards and start again as obviously that would be hugely wasteful and not mse, so I continue to try and use things up slowly and then not buy again unless I need them. I have cleared them out previously and put the "overstock" to use up in a different cupboard as a way to declutter, but all that happens is I forget to use the overstock. So slow and steady wins the race in this circumstance.. Every time I open a cupboard I do think about what could go, so it's a start. I suspect the kitchen is going to be an ongoing battle given the amount I cook/bake and how often we generally use the kitchen diner. Some tidying and minor things done today, including putting up a hook for my hat. Usually I have my shoes on and then realise I need my hat which I have been storing in the wardrobe. Very annoying, so I've put a hook on the back of the hallway door. Problem solved.Digital:

I am encouraging DD to use up all her older stuff so we are just left with the new ones, although she's given me the odd thing to colour if she doesn't want it anymore, but is mostly completed. I've been colouring in front of the TV in the evenings as a change from maths puzzles or jigsaw puzzles (I'm not good at not multi-tasking... it's a bad habit).DH laughed when I asked "do you think that crayon is done now?", so I thought I'd add a picture here! Banana for context...

@QueenJess - the photo reminds me of the discussion some Time ago about pencil extenders.
Dd1 came round to work on frog, not finished but moved on. Dd1 took bankers box, some post, a big notebook, folder with compartments, booklet, spare protein powder, duck flannel puppet

Hi chums ,gosh it was a warm one today, fingers crossed the skip on the drive will go tomorrow
We went to Barrry & Quentin's and decluttered a bit of cash mainly lawn feed and some stuff for the roses
We looked at the forks which looked nice but at £32.00 I thought "Thats a fork too far"
So decided as we were over half way there we would nip up to Northwood to The Range and found one just as good (its for digging the spuds up ) for £9.99.
As I had found my B& Q diamond card that I hadn't binned I looked it up before we went and found as it was a Wednesday I could still get some discount So the stuff we bought I got discounted at over a fiver.
Off to The Range and DD got some bits as well so I used the fiver discount for a cuppa and she had one and a sausage roll and crisps so basically the lunch was only about just over £2.00 (the cuppa was really nice but `i wasn't hungry)
Came home and while she put the stuff in the garden They had discounted some pots of stuff at half price that had dried out ,so a good soak in a bucket of water revived them nicely I even got a nice potted chilli plant at half price for a £1
I popped to Tescos for a shop to save my son-in-law a trip after work, and as I came out with four bags of shopping I always check my receipt and was pleased that the original bill was £102 odd then with the club card reductions and I had a £5.00 gift voucher the bill had dropped down to £87 so a profitable day for us all.
Even though I had decluttered some cash I was really pleased with the bargains. Two of my grandsons are coming down next week so I had to stock up on bits I knew they would like.
Eldest DD and her OH is off to Zante tomorrow for 10 days I think she will find it even hotter there than here.
I hope everyone is managing to keep cool and drinking lots of water.
DGGD aged 7 is so chuffed she has been inducted into the Rainbows which I believe is the precursor to Brownies her younger sister is a bit put out but then she is only 5. My youngest DGGD who lives in new York with her parents was 2 last week they grow up so quickly
We have been here a year now yet it seems to have flown by, and I still enjoy living here and have no wish to return to the mainland
Right time to empty the dishwasher as I think its finished now
Keep cool chums

I tackled my undies drawers today, having stocked up on some new underwear I tidied the drawers and threw away the sad and the baggy. I may mourn the loss of an old comfy bra but the wire was poking me last time I wore it 😕 I had M&S vouchers, one 20% off undies/sleepwear from my Smarts card and then 20% off the total as a 'sorry for recent upset' plus a £10 voucher for cancelling a order 😁. I also brought a new summer dressing grown, my current one is about 30 but won't get thrown away until next week as I don't want to chuck my breakfast cuppa down the new one just yet until after the hospital! They had 2O% off sleepwear so the complex maths on the receipt 🤨 meant I got approx 50% off 😁
