I had a mega busy day yesterday so feeling tired today.
I got Mr F and myself to SA early yesterday for lunch club. Then I walked into town with a shopping trolley full of craft stuff.
I was busy running around being my usual organising/bossy self at SA.
We came home and I had my meal before I went out to the dentist. I had 4 fillings - my mouth was dead for a couple of hours.
I popped to the nearby garden centre to buy a new pair of sandals - I had to declutter a pair that morning. I found a lovely comfy pair of sandals - black that I can wear with casual uniform.
After coming home and having a snack and cuppa with Mr F - it was off to singing group.
When I got home - a friend phoned and we chatted for over an hour.
I was so ready for bed last night.
Today - we had a lie in and I didn't get dressed until nearly midday,

Still here, reading along mainly.. You guys all keep me sane in an ever more bonkers world!Speaking of bonkers that’s been our life over the last few weeks, that said, lots has been decluttered in various guises.
Repairs and garden maintenance done for my Ma..
Repairs and lots of cleaning done for OH’s Mum..
Sadly for myself the decluttering of my beloved car was totally unexpected and has left a huge sadness. 😢Lots more clothes and bits n bobs have been listed on Vinted, sales have slowed tho.. not sure why?
Loved seeing all your travel reports MrsSD, habe made notes and will be checking out some of the places mentioned, so thanks ☺️

Went to my dad's and did pop to the charity shop. They had the glass cups and saucers matching g the one my brother accidentally broke but as a set of 6.... I gave in. Breakages are quite common. 12 bike accessories , lights and bits for helmets and 2 old x box controllers - so dd2 not me. But will do stuff at the weekend
Dd2 fed up.of.me asking her to clear up and sort things so need to lead by example. She's at my dad's ( is near the sea and countryside) for a couple of nights so I can do more at the weekend.
Will get a wash on before work tomorrow am.
@BridgetTheCat doing the washing def counts, I find doing anything during the week difficult but as I wake up early in the summer try and do some cleaning . And start in a different place each time if possible!

We have been to the tip today with a corner unit that I couldn't sell on wightbay, a shag pile rug, a foot stool and an old garden hose. So much decluttering here that we will have nothing left by the time we have finished. We are having a rest from stripping until Sunday but I think we are half way there!

Gosh soontobeoap isn't wood chip paper removal just the most difficult job.
I am here, just been busy today. Did some more packing, have started in our bed room. Just the decorative stuff for now. I went through some boxes I had previously packed and retrieved some new duvet sets that have never been used. I will list them to sell tomorrow. Will also list a lamp, it has never even had a bulb in it. I have sold the little drawers that I renovated that we use as a TV stand. Also did lots of batch cooking, and plenty of crochet. Mr V has been working on our soon to be TV stand today. He sanded it and sprayed the legs black.
Take care folks Vx

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday: slept well only up twice during the night 🥳 We were up & about by 08:45, washed & dressed by 09:30. We emptied the bags & repacked with one bag full of dirty & unused clothes & the other bag with everything needed for our last night away from home. It has rained this morning but is currently overcast & dry. We had coffee & I made DH a bacon sandwich whilst I had toast & raspberry jam for my breakfast. Loaded the bike, said our goodbyes & were on the road by 11:15, heading towards Carlisle & then into Yorkshire. Overcast & cold (temps about 13°/14°C) & very windy ☹️ However we did only have about 15 minutes of rain. Stopped for petrol about 12:45 & again at 14:40 for coffee & cake/chocolate. Only just in time as the café closed at 15:00. We decided to head straight to our hotel The Clarendon (rather than find old landmarks) as we were both very cold & DH was tired from trying to keep the bike upright in the crosswinds 😮💨 We arrived at The Clarendon Hotel 16:10, checked in & shown to our room (from where we can keep an eye on the bike) within 5 minutes. Relaxed for an hour or so then showered & changed by 18:00 Went down to the bar 18:40 & were lucky enough to be able to order dinner early 🙂 DH had pheasant to start followed by brown trout with new potatoes, pak choi & shiitake mushrooms. I had crab meat with roasted samphire & red peppers followed by venison pie, chips & peas. All the courses were delicious as is usual 😋 although the venison pie was the hands down winner - lots of venison & the gravy was sublime 🤤 Now back in our room

weenancy, This “I wish they only hurried up the seasons by one season at a time - Our local store had bikinis out the day after Christmas - and no sweaters until last week - just in time for summer.” is absolutely ridiculous 😞 Pleased to hear that your sister is still helping out 😊 although not quite sure why Di can’t do her own laundry 🤨 Fingers crossed that you find someone to take the empty cardboard boxes 🤞 I will also be keeping everything crossed that you get rain overnight for the next few days 🤞
Lovely chatty post Moorviews ☺️Excellent work especially in the garden 👏 Very impressed with the discipline you are showing when it comes to decluttering clothes 🤩
QueenJess, what a wonderful post 👏 Full of useful ideas that should not only help Pennypincin but will also help any of us who have stalled a little & are trying to get back into full decluttering mode ☺️
Florenceem, such a shame about your friend M 😔 It rather sounds like she is not only a hoarder but has yet to get to the point where she can either start decluttering or ask for help 😞 Sorry to hear that MrF can no longer venture out alone 😢
vulpix, so nice to have you back 😊 I see that you are already looking ahead & picking up bits & pieces to help you get the new house into order 👏 Keeping everything crossed that you can raise sufficient monies by selling items to fund the renovations 🤞 If not you will just have to send MrV out to work 😂 I am just wondering how much ‘stuff’ the lady selling the house, will leave behind 😥
London_1, hopefully the patio man will get the work done quickly so you can enjoy sitting out in the garden now that summer has started 🤞Like you I enjoy watching Wimbledon & am usually knitting as well 😅 Good luck sorting the kitchen cupboards/drawers 🍀 & fingers crossed that you raise a decent amount of money to put in the decorating pot 🤞
TC77, re This “Dd1 messaged me to say how I could get a much bigger house outside London to stash my many sofas, cabinets etc 😟” she is a bit of comedian isn’t she 😉🤨
Muddy_Walker, pleased to hear that you are very gradually recovering ❤️🩹 albeit probably more slowly than you would like 😔 Lovely flowers 😊 thank you for sharing 👏
Soontobeoap, excellent work by both you & DH in removing the wood-chip wallpaper 👏 Good luck with the potential weight loss from working so hard 🍀
Brie, This “…. most beautiful set of Limoges china from about 1922” sounds wonderful 😊 I do hope you are successful in selling it as a complete set 🍀
Lovely post Dizzycap 😊 I had actually forgotten how steep those stairs were 😥 Fortunately DH & I take them one step at a time clinging to the banister like grim death 😂 So sorry to hear about your friend 😔 Excellent decluttering 👏 Pleased to hear that babyface is still enjoying her visits to the laundromat 😉 That is a good way to rest by watching the Wimbledon qualifying rounds 😊
Apologies daisy_1571 😅
oceanspirit, yikes to having to declutter so much money 😦 😱 A good way to console yourself because at least if you decide you don’t like the dresses you can send them back 😅
QueenJess, I don’t believe This “…..I was just lazy and did nothing!” for one second 😂 The words “doing nothing” are not in your vocabulary 😉
Crikey Florenceem 😱 what a busy Wednesday 🤩 No wonder you were tired 😪 I really don’t envy you - 4 fillings 😬 I do hope that there was no pain once the numbness had worn off 🤞 I also hope that you managed to have a quiet & restful Thursday afternoon 🤞
BridgetTheCat, I hadn’t realised how early my post was ☹️ Excellent work getting 2 loads of laundry done 👏 That definitely counts 😊
Lovely to see you MadamMim2013 👋 You have definitely been keeping busy 👏 Sorry to hear about the ‘unexpected decluttering of your beloved car’ 😔 Hopefully you will be in a position to visit some of the places in the not too distant future 🤞 Just wondering if there are lots of people on holiday & that is why sales have slowed down 🤔
TC77, nothing wrong with treating yourself to the glass cups & saucers especially as they will be in use 😊 By the way, you can count DD2’s decluttering as it is going out of the house 😉 Good luck with your decluttering plans for the weekend 🍀
Soontobeoap, great work biting the bullet & taking unsold items to the Tip 👏 I think you & DH have definitely earned a rest from all that stripping 😊
Yippee, all caught up 🥳 Sending out lots of cwtches to anyone who needs, wants or would just like one 🤗 Sleep tight 😴

Good morning all
A lovely cooler early morning after a couple hours of drizzle
Florenceem - It sounds as though you had a great day, even if you had to take it easier the day after. I love really active days, although I don't have very many, if any, these days. I still manage doing the basics along with decluttering sold items out of the house and walk babyface at least once a day, so can't complainThere does seem to be an issue with Vtd at the moment as I can't seem to be able to sign in due to technical issues they've had for the past 3 daysBridgetTheCat - Washing definately counts as declutteringMrs_Salad_Dodger - I really hope you're loving your holiday as it looks absolutely fab!MadamMim2013 - Great going with the decluttering in a bonkers world, but sad about your beloved carSoontobeoap - I read 'We are having a rest from stripping until Sunday but I think we are half way there!'and decided I need to go back a few pages to find wood chip paper removal
I was actualy sitting here laughing away thinking, "You should have seen all the stripping that's been going on here what with the hot weather
& having my main bathroom replaced"
Up at crazy o'clock again and have managed to put the HH wheelie bin out for decluttering collection today & decluttering extras into it whilst doing a couple of wash loads ready to put out on the line when I've finished my 2nd mug of coffee. I've also watered the clematis pots in the front garden which are coming along nicely and are about to flower for the first time very soonI must say, it's been an exceptional year for red roses, lillies, & dark fushias
Babyface has been the usual little helper whilst burying a bonio in the front garden - guess who needs a hose down in the bath already?
Just had a break to peg out the washing, put a load of babyface's bedding on wash; and you all know how she has a ton of that!
, and get another mug of coffee whilst babyface is on her back snoring her head off with waggy tail, muddy paws & legs akimbo - It's looking like a fun day ahead!
Several of the Wimbledon qualifier matches have been brilliant and I've still got several to watch before Monday, so that's taken care of rest time at the weekendIt's going to be 31+ degrees, so we won't be out and about in that!
Popping off to take babyface for a walk, so ta-ta for now & take care all xxxxx

The last couple of days have been working-in-the-office days, thus less done.A couple more boxes of books and CDs packed, but I'm running out of space to put them back on the shelves. This will be resolved next week since my Godmother is staying this weekend, after she's gone I can take the spare room apart to become storage. In the Garden, DH and I managed to get at the waterbutts behind the greenhouse and detach them; I'll clean the sludge etc off and nest them, and use the space they came out of for stacking the G.H. glass when I take it apart. So next on my list (once it's a civilised hour) is to finish the last corner of pressure washing. In the meantime the bathroom & toilet-room cabinets, and a load of light bulbs which I don't know where they fit.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅⭐️ and one for mum 🏅11

@Dizzycap glad I gave you a giggle.
@YBR you sound very busy. Be careful doing all that work in the garden on the really hot days.
