wishus said:Doesn't sound like much, but 3 presents that were hanging around, finally decluttered. And one pair of boxers. Takes me to 114.
Let me see, I've probably decluttered around 20 things since February without really making a note.
I did a charity run a couple of months ago, and got rid of another 20 items.
I sold 2 more books.
Yesterday, I took 4 books, a stencil set, a printing set, 5 items of clothing, a knitting pattern, a box and 2 pairs of readers to the charity.
Okay, I'm well behind, but that's 57 + 114 = 171. So much catching up to do!Keep reading books!

When I moved down to Cheshire from Blackpool 90% of my stuff went into storage & the rest came with me to a bedsit for over 4 months. I had 2 spreadsheets, one for "with me", one for "storage", and took all of my stuff out of the house before it got packed & stored away.
When the guys brought it all to me in my new-to-me house, it was like Christmas but despite decluttering loads before moving, I have refined my possessions & moved quite a bit more out of the house. Lots has been donated to a variety of chazzers but I've also sold clothes etc on Vinted & Ebay and furniture & house / garden stuff on FB marketplace (including half a bulk bag of gravel!).2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Day off from decluttering as its just too hot to do anything, feet up by a window and my DD has just brought me a nice bowl of cubed ice cold melon bless her, very cooling and healthy instead of ice cream.
BBQ dinner tonight I think far too warm to cook indoors. My son-in-law enjoys cooking anyway so he cooks it on the BBQ and we eat in the conservatory with the doors and windows open as it also doubles up as our dining room anyway.
I prefer to eat at a table as I'm not keen on eating off my lap.
I think its bits and pieces plus a large salad and some grilled lamb chops and chunks of courgettes done with a sweet chill sauce that have been marinating in the fridge this afternoon. They are my favourite BBQed, and for pudding it will be banana wrapped in foil and cooked on the grill with a side of ice cream.
We had our new water bill yesterday and boy has it shot up in price Southern Water has raised the prices by 45% this year.
Most of our flowers are in tubs or containers but we do carefully water them and no water is wasted Having two dogs we aren't too fussed about the lawn , its grass and it is pretty brown and dried out at the moment, but will return to green once it rains
The tomatoes are really doing well also, in about two weeks and we will be starting to dig the spuds up, the flowers on them are just starting to die back
We planted Pentland Earlies as they are a great potato and I got a good crop last year.
Planted at Easter usually ready by early to mid July, so easy to grow, and you get a lot of smaller ones apart from the big first ones so the salad ones will do us to well into August.
Wimbledon starts on Monday, so I daresay I will be hooked on that for a couple of weeks
I hope everyone manages to keep cool and drinks lots of water to keep hydrated.
Its Armed Forces day tomorrow and DD says she will drop me down at Ryde in the morning, and if it gets too hot I can easily get a bus back up the hill home when I've had enough. I do want to see the Red Arrows display if I can though
She is going wild swimming with her OH and her friend tomorrow
The heat is supposed to hit 34-35c on Monday so I will be hiding in doors I think by the window with a fan on watching the tennis
Onwards and upwards chums ,Our patio extension man is due on Monday so there will be a lot of cold drinks needed for him and his assistant

I am able to use this site today.
I had Mr F sitting podding bags of peas the other day - kept him occupied.
A trolley load of stuff went to the charity shop on Thursday before we went to the surgery.
Mr F had a check up appointment - Dr was pleased with him.
Yesterday I offered to help at SA food bank. I had people asking for steak as I had some to give away 2 weeks ago. Some of our visitors are quite cheeky with what they want and ask for. The food bank is meant to be for an emergency situation.
I sorted another trolley load of stuff and we took it to the charity shop.
In the evening I did some sorting and decluttering in Mr F's office.

Friday: very restless night - up several times until DH woke me up at 08:20 & we were washed, dressed & mostly packed by 08:45 Went to breakfast - DH full English, juice & coffee; I had bacon, fried eggs & mushrooms, toast & marmalade, juice & coffee. Collected the bags & coats from our room & whilst DH loaded the bike I paid the bill. We set off by 10:05 in light drizzle which lasted 25 minutes & reached the landmark by 10:50. Stopped at 12:30 for a comfort break & DH filled up the bike with petrol. Still overcast but no more rain & the further south we went the brighter the weather became - fluffy white clouds, blue skies & sunshine. Stopped for coffees, toasted tea cakes & milkshake at an OK Diner just after 14:00. Traffic was horrendous due to roadworks & only got worse the nearer London we got due to sheer weight of traffic. Stopped off at A*da to pick up milk & my weekly magazines before arriving home @ 17:30 all hot & bothered. We unloaded the bike whilst DSis made coffee & we got changed into cooler clothing. Temperatures had reached 27°C & the sun was blazing with no hint of a breeze. I unpacked all the bags, gathered together all the washing & have put unworn clothes away, so just a couple more bits to sort outWe had cold chicken & oven chips for dinner. After dinner I started sorting out my accounts - all receipts from our trip are now logged. DH spent the evening updating his financial spreadsheets & those covering petrol consumption (48 mpg this trip 🥳) He also started sorting out his landmark photos. So last two animal reports for Thursday & Friday:
Thursday: cows, sheep, horses, 2 deer, ducks, a single heron
Friday: cows, sheep, horses, swans
So our Scotland trip is over for another year & we have had a great time especially spending time with Mrs & Mr daisy 🥹 On the whole the weather was very kind to us 😊 although the midges came out in force to attack DH (mostly face & arms)😔 I was more fortunate & had only about a dozen bites 😮💨 To finish off I will mention a couple of sights that you don’t see everyday: the road sign with odd priorities
“Take Care
Red Squirrels
Chickens
Children”
A large Buddha head staring out from someone’s porch; a vintage car convoy; a scarecrow in someone’s front garden; a smiling touring cyclist; 2 skeletons in a front garden; 3 dolphins on plinths & 2 horses on the grass verge at the side of a busy main road.
DSis’s postcard arrived before we got home but I had sent it First Class 😉 Unfortunately for DSis, she had to suffer the heatwave whilst we were away, so spent a lot of time trying to stay cool. However she did vacuum the downstairs, kept the house aired, swept & fully weeded half the patio, kept the bird feeders & water bowls filled, watered the garden every day & started tackling the tidying in her room. She has already moved at least a dozen boxes into the wardrobe room aka Room of Doom as a prelude to swapping out her double bed for a single bed 😊 My decluttering since back

Saturday: it has been a scorcher with a high of 29°C & low of 19°C with an occasional cooling breeze. I have done 2 wash loads which are on the whirligig. One load left to wash but I have run out of pegs 😉 so will leave until tomorrow. Wrote a shopping list for DH & DSis - mostly salad stuff & they went shopping about 16:00. Everything put away once they got back. Now just trying to stay cool & will come back later to catch up with the cheerleading. I hope that everyone is having a lovely weekend & finding ways to stay cool as well as hydrated 🙂

Lazy day today with just the grocery delivery and cutting some flowers from the garden. But my knee is much improved and I can now walk around the house and garden unaided again. I’m still on the list for a replacement so I’m just taking care not to overdo things.

Glad to hear safe trip back home Mrs sd, traffic sounds bad, was soooo nice to see you both
Suddenly realised we have a wedding next Saturday and nothing to wear ! Tried to go shopping but our traffic was also horrible so we turned at a convenient roundabout and went for a bacon roll instead. Will try again on Monday.
Getting warm now after a windy day, I've rearranged a few things, cancelled another and planning on a few days of restoring order to a few rooms of the house, some things have been festering for too long methinks. Plus I really need to finish a xstitch card for family who move on Friday!
Take care everyone

I have had another super busy day.
After breakfast - I set off to Lid - got my shopping - had to wait for a bus both ways. The date on the milk in Lidl wasn't good so I popped in Asd. on my way home.
Unpacked and put away the shopping and had a drink and furnished Mr F with a snack and drink as I was leaving him again.
C had phoned last night to ask if I could be at the SA while he was elsewhere - I got home about 1 - then did our meal.
I packed my shopping trolley with stuff for the charity shop and Mr F and I set off - straw hats on today. Very hot here and only a slight breeze.
We came home and I fed and watered Mr F before I set off for SA again.
This time I was taking in the food delivery which has to be put away in the fridges and sorted for the freezer.
I popped to my friend with a few bits - then walked home.
I have done nearly 11,000 steps today.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
