Well im not doing well at this am I, almost 2 weeks since my last post. Thank you @florianatwobob for the info about lavender. It's growing well at the moment, I think.
It's been a busy couple of weeks. Im trying to sort through every room before we go away and there's still so much 'stuff'. I've sorted through DD2s drawers and everything has had a wash as her drawers had a funny smell, hopefully she'll part with a few bits more while putting it all away. As she hasn't grown in years and doesn't part with things, her drawers are rather full.
We've also had some devastating news about a young family member, they've been having tests and just been diagnosed with the C word. At 25 with a baby I can't imagine how they're feeling.
I've done the same with DHs. We've done his tshirt and shirt drawers as I couldn't shut them (we dont have hanging space yet after swapping rooms with the DC) so many that were too small or hadn't been worn in the 25 years weve lived here. 21 tshirts and 9 shirts bagged up, just his jeans and jumper drawers to go but they're not as bad, I think he only has 3 pairs of jeans that fit.
While I was sorting some bits and clearing off the top of the drawers, DH did his bedside drawers. These 2 are account for the 20 items, there was a lot more but I didn't list as i was going. DH got rid of all his work Face masks, some too small boxers, and a pile of about 40 teeth! We had kept a lot of the children's when being the tooth fairy but no idea whose we're whose and the tissues they were each in had started to disintegrate. Our room is starting to look more like a bedroom than a dumping ground.
Right I can hear DGD moving about so better go get her. Love and hugs to everyone that needs them.

Mrs SD - the money counting was offerings and donations plus weekly war cry sales in town. The fayre didn't cover costs but it was a presence.
Poor granddaughter was distraught yesterday after not getting the job. 2 interviews in 2 days and rejection both times was hard for her.
I decluttered a cake mix that I got from SA yesterday - made a Madeira loaf cake which I topped with jam and coconut. I can only say - the topping made it edible.
Grey here this morning and rain is forecast.
The little boats started to leave for Dunkirk at 6am this morning. Prince Michael of Kent was here yesterday and took the salute at the harbour during a parade.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@charlies_tribe - I am so sorry 😔 What tragic news for your young relative and her family.More planting and watering. We need some good rain to refill the water butts. I swept the paths and vacuumed through downstairs. Adding to my CS pile some summer clothes that I have outgrown.12

Sorry to read that Charlie's Tribe, how awful.12

@charlies_tribe I'm so sorry to hear your family news. (((Hugs))) and love to all you, and coping vibes to the young mum and her immediate family xx
I probably haven't posted on here for weeks, but I do try to keep up with the thread. My photo sorting has taken a back seat for a couple of weeks but I managed to finish sorting postcards, including some sent from Norway in 1914 and 1936. Meanwhile I've been doing admin for church and a bit of light gardening - most of my patio pots are now ready for some fresh compost and the bedding plants that I bought last week. Too much to do, too little time and energy!11 -
So sorry, @charlies-tribe, to hear your dreadful news. That is just awful. Xx8

Hugs to all who need them. Last stages of kitchen in process hopefully although I keep moving things round as not certain they are in the right place. Last of May cards posted and started getting the June ones ready. Car insurance and tax paid, new air fryer ordered and small freezer. Frog munching is going very slowly. I tried to finish banking last night and App was down again - it seems to happen all the time nowadays. Not much done in garden although greenhouse is filling up. I did take the stuff already listed to the tip.
487 Last of May cards posted
488 Expensive car bills paid
489 Some coins paid in at bank and empty cash bags collected as I have a lot to pay in
490 Kitchen tiles, adhesive and grout collected
491 Phone screen protector decluttered and new one bought and fitted in shop.
Hoping to get date for tiling from builder, that the electrician returns and that the chap comes tomorrow to change first two interior doors. Also waiting on new radiator and the elusive fencer. I have set out all the paperwork for kitchen appliances on table as need to register various extended warranties. I also need to chase up kitchen place as one shelf still missing.
I found a place for table cloths to live permanently and I am washing various throws (everything in house is dusty) and hope to get them dry before the weather changes.

Tip trip done this morning with the pile of rubbish I have accumulated through last week's garden clear up. 4 bin bags of garden cuttings, a sleigh and 4 huge plastic flower pots filled with plastic garden rubbish including plant pots, strawberry protection rings, hanging baskets and old bin bags. Just one area to clear of weeds and then I am back to maintenance rather than clearance. I have also just realised that I have hit my target for the year and exceeded it too. Now it's just a case of seeing how much more I can shift. 🎉🎉 Raining today so working in the house, ironing and cleaning upstairs ready for guests. 😊craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 102 made and 5 mended,

charlies_tribe - very sad news for a young person.
I sorted donations at SA before lunch - it was a yummy roast pork dinner today.
I was extremely short staffed today at SA lunch club - just 2 of us to serve all the meals.
I have already done over 7000 steps.
I took my dinner home and have just eaten it. We had enough food left for seconds - I have dinner in the fridge for the 2 of us tomorrow and possibly even Saturday.
The rain didn't arrive.
My new SA uniform has arrived.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@charlies_tribe - sending her ((((hugs)))) from America.
@Florenceem - remember don't over do it. It is hard sometimes when everyone relies upon you to do everything, and it sounds like they do.12
