- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis

- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday: we had rain this morning & it is now overcast & a bit chilly with a forecast high of 18°C & low of 11°C. DH & DSis set off for their monthly visit to Battlefields at 12:40. Got back about 16:30. I spent the afternoon napping & watching an old B&W film The Blue Lamp. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & chopped tomatoes.

TC77, I am sure your cousin will notice a big difference 😊 Not only have you swapped out your table & chairs, moved on various furniture items but you have been working hard to keep surfaces tidy & clear & have decorated DD2’s room👏
Lovely to see you charlies_tribe 👋 Excellent decluttering 👏 by both you & your DH 👏 So very sorry to hear about the young family member - such devastating & tragic news 🥺 My heart goes out to them & all your family.
Florenceem sorry to hear that your granddaughter didn’t get the job ☹️ It must have been quite a sight watching the little boats leaving for Dunkirk 🤩
ionafan, how wonderful to have such old postcards 😊
Just noticed the time so am off to bed & will finish the cheerleading later today 😉 Sleep tight 😴

I had a couple of those virtual meetings this week where you only need to listen, which was was helpful for the decluttering: I took a whole load of papers out of plastic filing pouches and dumped them in the recycling bin/yard sale box as appropriate. 5 boxes down to 1 of things to keep, and another of empty ring binders. I don't know whether to take those with me.A couple of files went to work, but they'll also probably be binned once I've checked nobody's interested. A few bits of my stuff have come home from work also, including newish site boots that technically I should hand back in 10 weeks when I leave, but having size 3 shoes they're never going to find another person who wants themDH has brought down another 5 boxes from the loft which leaves only things we know we'll take like the Christmas decorations :
definitely progress.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger my DH is reasonably on board with de-cluttering but we have different ideas as to what _might_ be useful, and different levels of emotional attachment to some stuff.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅⭐️ ⭐️, DH: 🏅⭐️ and one for Mum: 🏅13 -
I went to singing practice last night - we will have a week off coming up as it is half term.
I don't know if I said but I refused a repaired overlocker - the shop is getting me a new one.
My new overlocker is at the shop - I can't have it delivered tomorrow as Mr F has a nurse appointment. Monday is Bank Holiday so that is a no and Tuesday Mr F has chest xray and blood test appts - so I have to wait until Wednesday.
I did a bit of decluttering in the back garden this morning.
We walked into town this afternoon - my building society is shut on a Thursday. The next one down the High Street closes at 3 - eventually found an open bank to get some cash - don't like using outside cash machines.

Some more progress today and finally tackled the main frog this evening. Two of my internal doors replaced and they do look nice. I have ordered two more - one for kitchen and one for bedroom 3. No sign of electrician, builder (for tiling), plumber (for new radiator) or the elusive fencer. Will follow things up tomorrow
I am revisiting where I have put things in kitchen to see if there are still things I don't need to keep. Will do same with bedroom 1.
492 Two doors and money decluttered with joiner. Lovely new doors fitted.
493 Large pile of cardboard to recycling
494 Old air fryer recycled
495 Ink cartridge recycled
496 Large fridge freezer cleaned and put up for sale
497 Boxes of cleaning materials sorted through and 4 dishcloths binned
498 Pile of paperwork left behind by trades sorted and warranties registered for new electricals and gas hob. Old instruction booklets recycled and everything put away in box where I can find them.
499 Pile of old receipts etc shredded and bag of shredding out for tomorrow's paper collection
500 Bag of 10p coins paid in at bank. I was given a bundle of cash bags so that I can transfer various coins that I have to correct bags to pay in at bank.
501 Stick on hooks fixed in boiler cupboard for various keys. Need to check garage keys as neither of spare ones seems to work.
Meeting clash tomorrow but I have to do minutes of an AGM so that will have to take priority. Need to clean out utility shed to make space for new freezer on Monday.

Thank you the flowers and chops Mrs SD I don't have to confess digital chocolate on the weight loss thread 😁
After decluttering water three times today from a none draining dish washer I think I will have to declutter it, I just need to think whether I want to declutter money to replace it 🤨 I didn't appreciate hand washing a full load this morning 🙂
I rehomed the cat bed used just the one winter and then abandoned and has sat upstairs for seven years, someone on free cycle was after one
I brought in my friends sewing 'stuff' from the car and have gone through it so I can rehome either with someone I know who runs sewing classes or on free cycle I have claimed a couple of pairs of good sewing scissors which are better than mine, so I may swap out with mine when I try and rehome. There are over 120 spools of cotton, many not used and duplicate colours. I don't want to spend too much time faffing with it or risk it ending up permanently here.I used the opportunity to sort out my own sewing box and have thrown away about a quarter of the stuff cluttering it up, not a lot in the grand scheme but every little helpsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin14
