Hi all, quick pop in on my way to bed.
@charlies_tribe so sorry to hear your sad news, hugs to you all
Yesterday was cake decorating but we made malteser cup cakes and scones. I have to say this class isn't really what I want to do and the lady who runs it is basically a baker and wants to teach us how to bake cakes. I have repeatedly told her I don't have a good enough oven to make cakes and I think she is getting the message, but also after cooking lunch once a week in work I know how to make cakes 😂. We have a week off next week for half term and then I think there are 2 more weeks on this course. I don't think I will do any more but there are other courses I might give a go starting in September.
I have been trying to make contact with a women's domestic violence shelter to arrange to take the pile of towels to them and I heard yesterday that they don't need them atm. This was a bit of a blow but I have found another homeless charity where I can take them. I was going to sort some bedding to go with them but this place only takes new bedding in it's original packaging so that's on hold for now 😁. The homeless charity only takes things on certain days and as one of the other things they are looking for is carrier bags I will pack up the towels in some bags for life and get them there one day next week.
Another pen given away at cake decorating as the tutor didn't have one 😁, she is very disorganised. My stash in my handbag is decreasing at least 😂.
1 LDFPA and a cardboard box recycled. The kitchen recycling emptied, a session on the bamboo done and a big bag of other garden stuff into the green bin.
The weather is due to turn on Saturday here, only to be expectef as it's a bank holiday 😂, so a couple of loads of washing sorted to do tomorrow and OH has given me a list for shopping tomorrow of things needed at the other house 😂. Apart from that I think I will try to do a bit more in the garden before the rain arrives. Also booked for a concert and had a look at what is on in a couple of theatres locally as we have theatre vouchers to use that we got as Christmas presents. Luckily there is no rush as they don't expire 😁.
On Saturday I will be helping with a mosaic at the footy ground, Sunday at the footy and on Monday it is the open top bus so that's me on footy overload until next season 😂.
Right off to bed now
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Thursday was a dull dreary day, cloudy with a high of just 15°C & a low of 8°C. Although there is no rain forecast it is very dark & overcast at 14:00 Shopping list written, DH & DSis left 14:15 All shopping put away as soon as they got back 🙂 Still no sign of my brand of root beer 😞 Completed the puzzles in my weekly magazine. Dinner was creamy bacon & pea linguine. Wudupa.

GrannyKate, pleased to hear that the kitchen is almost done apart from deciding where to put everything 😊 Keeping everything crossed that you can get all the appointments booked especially the elusive fencer 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering Soontobeoap 👏 Great work passing your target of 52 bags 🥳 I also realise that I have been rather mean with my awards having only given you a gold star at the halfway point to your target 😔 So to remedy the situation I awarding you Three Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - the missing one for 13/52, then one for 39/52 & one for 56/52. Congratulations 🥳
Excellent work at the SA Florenceem 👏 I do hope you managed to have a more restful Wednesday afternoon 🤞

Mrs SD thank you for the reminder of some the big things I've done since my cousin was here. Think I'm going to ask advise on how to organise things.
New trews from posh brand in cs bag ( difficult for me) but I can't get them past my thighs not as tight whne bought but certainly with the intention I would fit in one day! Got back in some clothes but these are impossible. Also new pj top - difficult as have others I don't like but not good enough for cs so ok for me
3 bak/ membership cards.
Sorting buttons into colours and have cardboard and plastic to go and some designer buttons I don't want so unsure if go to cs or if they can't deal with such small things.
Sorting out one of my desks ( yes have more than one) and checking fountain pen and dozens of cartridges from dd2s school days. I may use as ink pens are less strain on my hands. If I don't like will pass on although schools prob don't require fountain pens anymore.9 -
@Liverpool_Anne or anyone else looking to declutter towels. I sent a whole pile to a local Home Birth Group last year. DD had both her children as home births and we both collected towels from family, friends and strangers on FB. The Midwife complimented her on the huge pile of towels ready to be grabbed and used at any point11

@TC77 (and anyone else in the same situation) if you find you have more pens and pencils than you know what to do with do a quick google search of ‘pens for kids uk’. They’re a charity that send pens around the world to kids who wouldn’t be able to go to school otherwise. I sent a load of early this year
snd a friend has donated to them too.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Oh thank you for the gold stars @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I will add them to the signature with pride.
So sorry to hear about your family member @charlies_tribe
Plasterer has finished in our hallway and landing now so just waiting on the plumber to come back from holiday to sort the radiator out that hasn't worked since we moved in (it's probably going to need replacing). Think we may have finally decided on what we want to paint the whole thing but need to save up some money to pay for it first (it's going to take a lot of paint!)
Been spending a few hours each evening after work in the garden trying to clear out all the weeds so going to count that as my decluttering for most of the week. This weekend need to tackle the periwinkle and japonica which have got out of control and are basically one big mess. Not sure there's going to be much room in the garden waste bin after all the pruning.
Have had some interest in things on Vinted but need to list a whole lot more this weekend and maybe send some offers out.
Hugs to everyone else who needs them and hope you all have a good bank holiday weekend.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201712 -

Charlie's tribe, so sorry to hear your sad news.
Started on a box file this week. Read a magazine from 2017 - it had a couple of useful articles which I have kept for now. Rest of magazine in recycling.
Finished a book I was given for Christmas and is now in CS box, along with another DVD.
Emails have crept up to over 400 again so will make a start on those over the weekend.
OH has done more work in the garden this week and brought some more boxes from store to go through whilst we have wet weather over the weekend.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅11 -

Friday: we have had a sunny morning & early afternoon 🙂 but about 16:00 it started getting dark. High of 19°C & low of 6°C. DH filled the bird feeders & then went back to trying to sort out the electrics on the Goldwing - the chargers cable isn’t working so he has been checking/replacing fuses, wires etc. He also checked & cleaned his front brake pads 👏 I finally got off my derrière & had 2 x 30 minute sessions with my magic machine - weeding the front path 😉 Not a perfect job but it does now look like somebody cares 😂 It does mean that my To Do list is one task shorter 🤣 Straight into cheerleading:
Excellent decluttering YBR 👏 Going through the contents of 5 boxes & decluttering enough to get into 1 box is brilliant & worthy of a medal 🏅 which is on its way. Pleased to hear that your DH is pitching in with the decluttering ☺️ even if he is not quite on the same page 😉 Good luck with the last 5 boxes from the loft 🍀
Florenceem, typical that your new overlocker should be available but you & MrF are so busy that it cannot be delivered 😞 Fingers crossed for good results from all MrF’s medical appointments/tests 🤞 Like you I don’t like using outside cash machines & always try to find one indoors - better safe than sorry 🙂
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 & great work tackling your main frog 👏 One medal 🏅 for the frog + one Gold Star ⭐️ for reaching 500 🥳 Good luck cleaning out the utility shed 🍀
Brambling, This “I don't have to confess digital chocolate on the weight loss thread 😁” did give me a chuckle 🤭 Shame about the dishwasher ☹️ Fingers crossed that, if you do decide to replace it, you can find one in a sale 🤞Good luck rehoming your friend’s ’sewing stuff’ 🍀 & well done on decluttering the contents of your sewing box 👏
Liverpool_Anne, a pity about the cake decorating course not really being as advertised 😞 but at least you have learned a few new skills like making flowers 😊 Good work finding somewhere else to donate the towels 👏 Hope the weather stayed fine for you today & you managed to get the laundry done & also a bit more work in the garden 🤞 A busy long weekend planned getting your fill of football related activities ☺️ so am hoping that should it rain there won’t be too much disruption 🙏
Excellent decluttering & tidying TC77 👏 Just thinking that you could sell the designer buttons 🤔
WickedLady4, what a great idea for donating towels 🥳
florianatwobob, such a great idea for donating pens & pencils 🥳
Lovely to see you Mrs_Money_Penny 👋 Excellent decluttering 👏 & now that you are in the 6,000’s I am awarding you another Gold Star ⭐️- great work 🙂
ruby_eskimo, yippee to plasterer finishing 🥳 & fingers crossed that the plumber can sort out the radiator 🤞 Excellent work sorting out the garden 👏 - a medal🏅 is on its way. Hopefully the weather will stay fine enough to allow you to tackle the periwinkle & japonica 🤞
Floss, what a lovely sentiment 🥹 & bears repeating: “…… but after divorce I finally realised that despite living with a lack of compliments I am worthy of wearing nice things just for me. I gave lots of stuff away that had been kept & worn because it fitted rather than was flattering or suited me. To quote a certain advert, you're worth it.”
Lovely to see you oceanspirit 👋 Great decluttering by you & good work by OH in the garden 👏 I am awarding you each a medal 🏅 🏅 Good luck with the next round of sorting boxes from storage 🍀
Yippee all caught up 🥳 Just leaves me to say that I hope everyone has a great bank holiday weekend - whatever you are doing & to advise that the TLC Carriage is fully stocked & that ‘Hugs Cupboard’ is also full 🥹 Also a quick shout out to members of our Declutterati family whom we haven’t seen for a while - dND, QueenJess & London_1 come to mind - hoping that everything is OK & that RL is just keeping you too busy to pop in 🙏
I will see you all later 👋
