oceanspirit said:Haven't posted in a while. Went away for a few days to do something I have wanted to do since I was a teenager. It has given me bags of confidence, not just in what I was doing but generally in life. I have found myself standing up to people I would normally have shied away from and called someone out on lies they were telling me.
I had no idea that doing said activity was the way to increased confidence! I guess it's because all through my life I have been told I am stupid and now I have been told by someone who really knows what they are talking about that actually that's not true, I feel I can believe them. And standing up for myself feels gooooood.
That is great for you.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday is very cloudy & dull although the forecast high is 19°C with a low of 10°C - the sun is currently struggling to to put in an appearance & it feels very chilly 😞 I am up & dressed but can see myself nodding off throughout the day. I have my cuppa & am going straight into cheerleading:
Muddy_Walker, I had palpitations reading This “Having been brought up as a Forces brat I have moved over 25 times…….no more!” 😥 but then almost fell off the sofa reading This “A few years ago hubby was thinking of moving to a different country (he has these ideas 🤣). I said off you go then but I’m staying here.” 🤣 Gorgeous picture of your dogs 😊
Excellent decluttering QueenJess, especially persuading DS to release more Lego 👏 Good luck using up freezer contents 🍀
Lovely to see you Florenceem 👏 I did think/hope that you being MIA was possibly due to you being very busy 😉 Naughty MrF ‘wagging finger emoji’ so I am pleased/relieved that the chap at the security desk had a word 😮💨
Excellent work dealing with your sock drawers retiredinfrance 👏 & very well done on being so ‘Ruth’ 😊 Please accept some flowers 💐 Good luck sorting out your summer clothes 🍀
Florenceem, wishing your granddaughter every good fortune at her interview 🥹 & keeping my fingers crossed that she hears from the other school 🤞Beautiful work with both the tie backs & the cushion covers 😍 especially the round ones which are stunning - such vibrant colours 🤩 Shame about the new to you overlocker ☹️ I do hope you can get it fixed 🤞
Brie, loved This “I say nibbles and my OH ends up prepping and serving a meal that lasted about 3 hours.” 🥹 Hopefully with so much leftover it will reduce the amount of cooking over a couple of days 🤞
Great work florianatwobob 👏 If I provide the sand could you come to my place & sort out our front path 😉😉
Florenceem, a very busy Wednesday as usual 👏 I hope you weren’t short of volunteers 🤞 It sounds like J gave some wonderful performances 🤩 & how lovely that so many friends & family went to see him 🥹 Just wondering if the show is on tour now 🤔 Great photos of the boats in the harbour 👏 It will be an amazing sight when they head off across the channel 🥹
weenancy, please, please take care of yourself 🙏 & please see or speak to the doctor about the dizziness 🙏 Hopefully Di will continue to do 15 minute sessions of tidying 🤞 Good luck with your Excel test 🍀 although I am sure you will pass with flying colours 😊 Just wondering if you have had any more assistance from your sisters? Please remember the TLC Carriage is always open 😊
Lovely post Moorviews 🥹 Excellent work in the garden 👏 & great work emptying down your freezer 👏
So lovely to see you oceanspirit 😊 Whatever the “activity” was, it sounds amazing 🤩 & your new found confidence shines through 🥹 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with clearing the gritty dust 🍀 When I heard This “………and the food use up continues. I have been firmer with OH on not bringing more in until we have finished what we have.” was music to my ears 🥹 Wishing you every success with decluttering a few pounds 😊
Wednesday2000, hope you enjoyed watching Eurovision 😊 I have to confess that although I quite liked the winning song, my favourite was the entry from Sweden 😂
Soontobeoap excellent decluttering of crafting stock 👏 & brilliant work in the garden 🥳
All caught up 😮💨 Thought I would entertain you all with a picture of a cheeky squirrel + a photo of my peony/camellia plants which have gone wild 😆
Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday whatever the weather 😉

Afternoon all. Popping by to say hello whilst OH is preparing the bbq for tea. Chicken, homemade kebabs, potato salad and coleslaw. Popped to the beach this morning and had it to ourselves. Tide was in so explored the rock pools.
Decluttering is on a go slow, now up to 175, gave DD's outgrown clothes to friends.Need to regain focus as it will make a difference to the home environment. Also using up food stocks and food in the 2 freezers. There are some random unidentified meals in there, will have some interesting meals.

Florenceem said:QueenJess - Mr F had one of those globes - it went when the house was modernised. We don't drink alcohol so it was surplus anyway plus I didn't like it.
Granddaughter has an interview for a teaching post. She is waiting to hear from another school - one she used to attend.
Tie backs are packed ready for collection.
The cushion covers for daughter's bedroom are finished - 2 patterned and 3 plain.
Awesome sewing.I've been away at college this weekend, penultimate time before I move into the new role. the DDs have also been away at Guide camp so before I went on Friday, I was doing my most frequent sewing - nametapes! Now with us all back we're shovelling wet and dirty Landry into the washing machine!

Up early today to let in the electrician. Last evening, there was a pop and a flash of light in the kitchen. Turns out one of our outlets exploded. Had been using it with the toaster earlier - which always burned the toast no matter what. Looks like we will be decluttering a toaster today.
Took a bag of canned fruit to the neighbors and will be taking more as when my sisters organized the food, it became obvious as to what we have too much of - and what we need to get as well. Also found a number of things no one can remember acquiring. Will need to sort those out also.
Will be having a yard sale in two weeks. Starting to put things in boxes for the sale. Clearing out a little at a time.
We have been putting out a donation box at our book sales. At the last one the donations box made $55 more for us. We will be moving our little book store into a larger room next year that might hold most of our books. This would help a lot as right now the book sale stuff is only available 5 hours a month. In the larger room, they would be available whenever the library was open. We would just hold a sale in certain areas like fiction or DVDs every month and not have to have our regular book sales except maybe once or twice a year instead of monthly, which would save a lot of time and effort. We would still need to spend time in the sales room getting out the new donations but everything would be nearby. We would even have tables in there we could sit and really check out what we have.
Just have to get the agenda ready for tomorrow; go to the pharmacy for prescriptions and bread. Free prescriptions and should get a coupon for enough off to cover the bread. Sweeping the next third of the house when I get home.

More kitty pics needed!
MrsSD yes hubby was a bit shocked when I said that! That was years ago mind ☺️
I love your flowers.
i spent almost all day yesterday tackling some vicious weed grasses most of which were removed with brute force and sheer temper 🤣
I’ve got a couple of plants I don’t know where to put so just going to pot them up for now. I can always plant them later and I want to put in some cheerful ground cover plants as well. My rockery is well and truly overgrown so that needs a sort .
as far as spent pot bulbs go, once they have died back I’ll actually sort out which are no good and plant the rest in the front.Today was going to be a rest day but one neighbour started using a chain saw, another was cutting their hedge someone else was mowing their lawn……..I got up!
Even though it’s supposed to be cooler it still feels muggy!⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
