2 frozen chicken thighs decluttered to make dinner tonight to go along with a fridge full of smidgeen pots of leftovers from last night when a friend came over for "nibbles". I say nibbles and my OH ends up prepping and serving a meal that lasted about 3 hours. Not that it was a lot of food but it was a lot of dishes accompanied by a whole lot of chatter and a (ahem) moderate amount of drink.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I had a usual Wednesday - lunch club and sorting donations.
We stayed after lunch as there were so many bags of donations in the foyer - I sorted and carried 16 sacks out to the storage crate.
My daughter called by with the theatre tickets to watch grandson J in Chicago at Canterbury Marlowe..
Singing group was not well attended but we practiced a song for Sunday.
I unlocked at SA on Thursday morning.
We had a very early midday meal before we set off to the theatre.
The show has been a sell out all week. We went to the matinee and met up with J after the show. It was a fantastic show and J was incredible - acting, singing and dancing. All week - friends, family and former dance school pupils have been going to watch J.
We got back in time to lock up at SA - very tired - we had been out for 9 hours.
Very tired on Friday.
My overlocker was collected.

Today had trouble getting up. Finally did , fed the cats, and went back to bed. Slept until noon. Since I have been up, have been decluttering dust bunnies from a third of the downstairs. Decided it will take three attempts to sweep the whole downstairs area. So now I am resting and recovering. Cats tried to "help" by attacking broom and dust pan. Had to sit several times due to legs "going to sleep" every time I stood up. Also got very dizzy by the time I had finished the first two rooms. So the other two can wait till tomorrow. Last two may have to wait until Tuesday as I have a final test in in Excel class and another Friends of the Library Board Meeting on Monday. But I am still trying. Roommate Di actually spent 15 minutes cleaning up her room. Wow. Today has been an overcast day with drizzles expected all day. What happened to our sun.17

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday: another gloriously sunny day with a forecast high of 20°C & a low of 10°C. I have spent 90 minutes dealing with paperwork + updating my calendar with various appointments. Still clearing down programmes from TV planner. DH went out for his walk & to post all my birthday cards etc. I offered a choice of omelette or lo cottage pie to DH & DSis & they both opted for omelettes so cottage pie for me. DSis had cheese, bacon & mushroom in hers. DH had the same but with the addition of pieces of cooked peppers. I also sliced & fried 2 lo boiled potatoes for DH & DSis. Wudupa.

Steady decluttering TC77 👏 Well done sorting out your supply of buttons 😊
vulpix, I am keeping my fingers crossed that DS is successful 🤞Nothing wrong with knitting the same thing in different sizes to use up your yarn stash 😊 As you know I tend to knit scarves, hats & wrist warmers to use up my yarn stash 😉 Good luck with your projects 🍀 Sorry to hear This “The bloke who viewed on Thursday who was measuring up for his furniture and made an offer on the spot has disappeared. Grrr I don't want to do any more viewings. I always thought I would like to be an Estate Agent but in retrospect I couldn't be doing with all the time wasters. I am close to taking it off the market again. I am finding the process quite stressful.” 😥 😡 Hope you have a lovely time in Llandudno 😊
Apologies for not catching up with the cheerleading (although I will say lovely to see you Florenceem 😊) but DSis & I have been watching Eurovision which I had recorded 😉 DSis predicted the winner 🤩 & also predicted the audience vote for the U.K. 🙊 Sleep tight everyone 😴

@Muddy_Walker - you have some very nice plants there. I look forward to the seeing the After photos too! Good to hear that returning to work is going okay.@weenancyinAmerica - I echo @retiredinfrance in urging you to take care of yourself.@Florenceem - the Dynamo 85 looks like it will be amazing with all those lovely classic boats taking part. I wish I wasn’t too far away to see it. Well done on getting so much sewing done. I am not surprised that the time flew! Hopefully Mr F will take more notice of the security guard. You have enlightened me though as I always wondered why the trolleys didn’t move on the travelator!
@vulpix - frustrating to have your hopes raised and your time wasted like that. I hope a serious buyer comes along soon.@retiredinfrance - now you have inspired me to want to sort out my socks 😊 however, I have gardening to do so must not get distracted!
@florianatwobob - well done for getting that sand in the right place 😊
@Brie - I like the sound of your OH’s version of nibbles!
@Dizzycap - I hope you and your menagerie are doing okay. I think you were heading into feeling unwell when we last saw you. 🤗 hugs
It is mainly gardening and eating going on here. I almost emptied the freezer so there is room for more summery food now. In addition to filling the garden bin up we have had another run to the recycling centre. I have plants ready to go in so I need to declutter those into the beds and try and crowd out the weeds. Also, my seedlings have stalled as there must be barely any nutrients in the compost that I am using, despite what it says on the bag. I need to feed them and pot them on soon. Also, get my tomato plants into their growbags. And there is washing to be done. I am not going to be bored!
I hope everyone is having the nice weather and able to enjoy themselves at least some of the time. Hugs to anyone in need and a reminder about the TLC carriage. A place for you to rest and take time for yourself, whatever else is going on.17 -
Haven't posted in a while. Went away for a few days to do something I have wanted to do since I was a teenager. It has given me bags of confidence, not just in what I was doing but generally in life. I have found myself standing up to people I would normally have shied away from and called someone out on lies they were telling me.
I had no idea that doing said activity was the way to increased confidence! I guess it's because all through my life I have been told I am stupid and now I have been told by someone who really knows what they are talking about that actually that's not true, I feel I can believe them. And standing up for myself feels gooooood.
Some decluttering has taken place. A table too big for the space has gone to a rellie, plus 4 chairs that were in store. Books and dvds in car ready to go to CS. They are going in order to make space for recent acquisitions. Clearing next door's building dust is a nuisance and is taking time as it's gritty and I don't want to scratch things.
OH has been sorting through photos that came from his parents and the food use up continues. I have been firmer with OH on not bringing more in until we have finished what we have. I have a separate 'prepper's box' with a few things in that would help if we couldn't shop for fresh so I can reduce overall stocks to make our space easier to live in.
I am going to start reduced portions for meals for me on Tuesday as I have a spare tyre which is slowly increasing and my clothes are feeling uncomfortable.
I need to do a few housework jobs now so I can enjoy a book in the sun later.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16
