@ TC77 - went through drawer of tablecloths mainly from my mum some of which I think were her parents with many beautifully embroidered, starched and in dry cleaning bags. Not quite sure what to do with these or if there's a market/ interest.Yes, there is a huge market for genuine antique vintage embroided tablecloths. My largest & oldest embroided banquet size tablecloth held in my family for over 2 generations, sold to the A. McQueen shop in London in December via eBy for a very nice **hefty** sum!
I'd keep & list them all on eBy BINs

Hi all, much cooler here yesterday and today so far, still sunny but with a brisk cool breeze . I had a bit of a tidy around yesterday and threw away lots of carp from the bedroom and the lr so the kitchen bin, bathroom bin, bedroom bin x2 and the lr bin x2 were emptied. 2 LDFPA and 3 towels taken to the animal rescue for bedding. I have explained to OH that I am going to sort through all the towels we have and spares will be going to the women's refuge if they are nice enough or the animal rescue if they are worn. It was agreed 😁 so I will make a start on that next week.
I have a load of washing on the line this morning and I am going to have to chop off the last big bit of the rambling rose which I left last year as it was still in flower but it's back in bud now but it can't be helped, it's blocking the way to the compost bin 😂 so it's got to go. I will use what I can to take more cuttings. I know it's completely the wrong time of year but it's got to be done 😁.
@Mrs SD I wanted to say lovely knitting, bit late on the comment but my brain has been tired and I kept forgetting 😁. Lovely present as well and so nice to be remembered and appreciated 😁.
Also @charlies_tribe congratulations on the court outcome 😁
@Gers thanks for the radio link. I think people who could afford it have always had clutter in one form or another probably right back to the stone age. I think about the grave goods they find, little pots etc that must have been spare if they were buried with someone and pretty stones made into a necklace etc. I do agree that for most people though the clutter thing probably started with the industrial revolution when things became more affordable for most people who wanted a few pretty things around them rather than just utility items.
@Happy_Kitties we are in no mow May now so no need to stress about the grass 😁
@TC77 a quilt cover should be easy to sew, just 3 sides and a few poppers to close and I love the idea from @daisy_1571 to do a tie dye but as she says park it for now 😁 so you don't get distracted. I also seem to spend a lot of time tinkering around the edges 😂
@ruby_eskimo hi, nice to see you😁
@weenancyinAmerica having your family tree back to the early 1600's in Tonga is pretty amazing. I wonder how far back their written records go but as you say they have got oral records. I hope they have been saved safely somewhere. These things are so important. 😁
Well I had better get moving or the day will be gone, feels quite cold atm so the shorts have been changed to leggings and a fleece is definitely required before I tackle the rose 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one, the hug bucket has been topped up 😁

Friday was another hazy sunshine day with a high of 24°C & a low of 13°C DH had an appointment with the new dental hygienist in the afternoon, I stripped the bed & washed the bed linen & managed to get most of it dry on the whirligig. Spent the afternoon sat outside reading newspapers & doing puzzles. DH & I finished off most of the salad stuff for dinner & DSis had chicken & chips. Wudupa.

@Liverpool_Anne you made me smile about grave goods. DD1 and me were talking a while back about all my crockery and glassware etc and she suggested that it could be buried with my pharaoh style for my use in the after world! Made me think that I don't want some of it coming with me

Added cushion and cover, book and plumbing bits to CS bag and dropped off. The manager was admiring the cushion (lovely velvet) and it made me think maybe I want it! left it there.
Washing on and a few small frogs done or parts of big frog.
Having trouble getting new trainers that fit me.
Decided cricket whites will be donated.
I really don't want the decluttering to take up so much time and energy. Tried on linen trews and ummed and ahhed and put in a bag for my cousin's visit. Then thought I don't feel happy in them and have bought at least half a dozen from CS that I do feel happy in so going to start a new CS bag with them.

Had the opposite conversation with my mom years back when she was doing some funeral planning etc. She said she wanted to be buried with her wedding rings (big chunky diamonds!!). I said "that's fine but I'll be digging them up afterwards". She just smiled and said "and that's why I'll come back to haunt you!!"TC77 said:@Liverpool_Anne you made me smile about grave goods. Helloooooo!
Drumrole……remortgage frog completed!!!!!!!!
Will frog about halfway through probably.
Bit of a moan - being under par health wise I find it hard to do difficult things (which I accept) but having to do so much paperwork and correct paperwork which the specialists should have done properly in the first place is very wearing. I had a complete temper tantrum today when looking over the will stuff - it’s as if we weren’t listened to at all and when I queried it was told “well that’s what you told me”. Um no we didn’t…. I am waiting for a couple more details and will then send it off and I KNOW it will come back with questions as no one takes ownership of anything any more. With the remortgage one provider we originally went with had question after question all in separate requests. Why????? They know what the need so why not ask for it all upfront? Went with another provider in the end.
I still have ongoing medical tests and I dread making phone calls for appointments as I’m either on hold for an hour or battling a receptionist…..
Anyway I am looking forward to “just working” pacing myself, decluttering, gardening.Rogan had a declutter of fur today! He’s gone from heavy metal look to band boy 🤣🤣🤣🤣⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Afternoon all folks & what a dramatic change in wether this afternoon - Well it is here anyway
We finally managed to clutter up on 2 hours rest at 10am this morning after having to sort out another load of decluttering issues
Babyface finally went back to sleep after a nice balanced fresh roast lamb dinner and was happily snoring & grunting away sounding like a hog until 10 minutes ago, when the neighbour arrived to fit her new ramps
Now she's majestically laying & waggy tailing on her raised supporting bean bag in front of the window observing that they are being fitted correctly
So absolutely no pressure then!
She'll be out the back testing them as soon as they've been fitted and the neighbour has walked up and down them a couple of times. I can't wait to see HRHs face as she watch8es him! Oh, I can see the full on wide eyed 'How dare he' & the Queen Vic 'Not Amused' look now
Off to take LuLu for a potter & pick up something for my elderly neighbours before I have yet another mug of coffee
I hope everyone is enjoying the day!

I quite get the "not being listened to" bit. Had to go to the bank as my Canadian pension requires a form to be completed by the bank with my account info (sort code, IBAN etc). Chap at the bank said "no, can't do it. We can't sign forms. You'll need to take it to a solicitor." I pointed out the bit on the form that said it must be completed by the financial institution where the money is to be paid. And was told again "no, can't sign it". I pointed out that no where on the form were they asking for a signature or even a bank stamp. Young chappie took the form and grumpily said he'd go and discuss it with the branch manager. A few minutes later he returned, a bit contrite and said it turned out they could fill this out after all.
I know why CPP want the bank to fill out the info - to ensure it is correct because most people don't know about IBANs being used to pay money across different currencies. In fact I know a heck of a lot about IBANs having worked in foreign exchange with an international bank for a few years. But CPP said the bank should fill this out so I thought I should give them the chance.
*IBAN=International Bank Account Number. Basically a very long number (16-20 digits) that shows the currency then the actual bank and then the sort code and finally the individual account number. If you look at almost any bank statement these days they will show your IBAN on it. As we're in the UK it will start with GB.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi all, well today didn't go as planned at all. Headed out to the garden and got distracted by the washing so checked it and brought in a few things that were dry. As I was putting something on OH's pile in the conservatory I pinged off my glasses. I thought I saw where they landed, by the indoor wood storage box, so I had a quick look but couldn't find them. OH was still upstairs sorting through some draws and a bedside cabinet after I had had a bit of a nag so I went up and said I can't find my glasses. I'll come down in a minute and have a look. So obviously I couldn't wait and started moving some of the heap of things into the garden checking everything as it goes out so I have some room to look. I found all sorts including 10 pairs of OH's glasses, non prescription reading glasses, tried on a pair and thought they will do for now and carried on moving and sorting through stuff. I broke up and recycled 12 cardboard boxes including 1 that OH's dsis had sent with about 48 miles of brown tape on to hold it together 😂. 21 glass jars recycled, 12 held back to pass to the lady who makes damson jam that ln knows. Found 2 bottles of wine that will be chilled and consumed at some point but the gift bag was wrecked so that was recycled. Lost track of the amount of other carp that was binned or recycled but the kitchen recycling was emptied twice and the wheelie bin is almost full and the kitchen bin is nearly full. Some very old cleaning stuff emptied and the bottle washed and recycled along with old sunscreens. By this time I am quite hot as it is warm in the conservatory so I nade a cuppa and went for a sit in the garden in the brisk breeze to cool down 😁. Back inside I can now move a draw unit so did that and checked they weren't behind that and start to think they must be in the wood store so start putting some stuff back in a much more sensible way so I can get to the wood. OH then appears after 2 hours and asks me to hang a couple of bags on the line that have been washed in the bath 😑 and I make us both a cuppa while OH has a look around. Fresh eyes and all that. Where were you standing and where did they go? Standing here and they went there where the big space is as it's all in the garden says I. OH has a poke around while I am lifting the bags of wood out into the garden and lo and behold OH finds them about 6 foot from where I had been looking and about 6 inches from where I had been standing 😂. Oh well at least I got something decluttered and while there is still loads of stuff to sort out it is a start 😁. Also OH had filled a bag with rubbish and another bag for the cs and tells me there might be more once all the trainers have been washed 😁. Counting the bag of rubbish as I took it out to the wheelie bin as OH had no shoes on but not the cs bag yet as it's still in the hall 😂. Got everything back in and got another load of washing on the line and a load of trainers in the machine. By then I was knackered so had another cuppa before sorting out tea. After tea I just watched tv 😂.
@TC77 glad I made you smile 😁
@Brie I'd be digging as well 😂
@Muddy_Walker Rogan looks very smart 😁 and fingers crossed that the frogs get eaten with minimum effort, hugs
Ok off to bed now eyes are starting to droop 😁
