Soontobeoap said:I can't keep up with this train. I don't know how you do it Mrs SD. More gardening this week. 2 bags of grass cuttings tied up into compost bags to store behind the shed. Also a bin bag of broken pots only hanging basket, plastic grow bags that are no longer any good for compost etc. also had 2 afternoons on card making from old birthday cards. Another bin bag full of off cuts, cards that are no good to use etc. so 2 more bin bags cleared.Me neither... must be time for a @Mrs_Salad_Dodger award 💐🏆A very quick check in as my parents are arriving imminently. Morning everyone no decluttering done the last couple of days as DSis have been out and about gallivanting.
In lieu of decluttering I can offer you a picture from Saturday of the beach in Whitstable, just down from the Old Neptune.Carolbee18 -
@carolbee it was fairly busy as it was lovely weather but the view was definitely worth it.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Lovely restful scene Floriana.
TC, I keep forgetting to say, another thing to add to your future sewing list, make clothes from embroidered table cloths. I only saw the idea after I had donated all my Mums and Grandmas hand embroidered cloths. Some stunners on Pinterest.Finished one of the Scout badge frames. It turned out it needed 2 frames as there are so many. The frame I have used was from my Mum’s. It was earmarked for a poster I was going to create, which I still might do at some point. We are off out soon to buy a piece of card so I can crack on with the other frame. I have split the badges into British and international. Satisfying to use up craft supplies on ideas that we will keep. I love crafting but usually give the results away. I have an almost full bag for life of baby knits to donate.A few plants in. Some I have potted up and some I may put in the garden to fill gaps where I want to dig things up and take with me when I move. The plants were left free on the wall at the end of the road. One is a baby holly tree which was growing in my wall.2 knitted jumpers sewn up. I will take them down South when I baby sit on Wednesday. DIL’s Mum is palliative. Everything is extremely emotional ATM.I have tweaked my draft of the final chapter of my “book”. It’s only about 500 words. It will be interesting to get feedback from the writers group. It gives me a picture in my head and a feel for the characters. I will be interested to see if it does the same for other people.I have another piece of writing homework to do before the next meeting. Write 100 words to include 7 random words. We all have that task so they will all be very different I expect.Love to all Vx:16 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday is an overcast day with a forecast high of 14°C (but the chilly breeze is making it feel like 6°C) & a low of 5°C The sun is struggling to put in an appearance & there is a short rain shower due in the next 30 minutes. Straight into cheerleading, starting from page 315
Lovely post Dizzycap 😊 Sorry to hear that even with the new bedding, you are still not able to get any decent sleep because of the chronic pain 😔 Hopefully a quiet couple of days with a few naps during the day will help you to feel better 🙏
YBR, Good luck with the ‘tool tidying’ & getting the kids through their homework 🍀 I know it was always a bit difficult for me to do my homework if/when the weather was nice 😉
Happy_Kitties, I love the idea of skill swapping - gardening for paperwork is an especially good trade ☺️ Your comment “It is amazing how I can get their paperwork done straight away for neighbour but with my own I have tadpoles, frogs and one toad!” struck a chord 🤔 Thinking about it, I have come to the conclusion that different emotions come into play when one is performing a task for someone else which can somehow make it easier. Great result with the sales & using up packaging 👏
Broke off from the cheerleading to find something to wear as it is so cold & yes it is raining 😒 Although DH managed to avoid the rain when filling up the bird feeders 😉
Lovely post vulpix 😊 & what a great compliment for our Declutterati family “…. There are some great people around, that includes everyone on this thread.” ☺️ Well done passing on the air fryer 👏 especially as they take up so much space 😉 I will keep my fingers crossed that the asking price offer translates into a sale 🤞Sorry to hear that your hands hurt from all the knitting 😔 but great news that you are starting work on displaying MrV’s scout badges 👏 I am keeping everything crossed that your area gets steady & prolonged rain until the fires are all out 🤞🙏
Lovely to see you diminua 👋 Some excellent & eclectic maintenance decluttering 👏 Great idea to plan ahead before bringing a new bulky item into your home 👏
Brie, what a great idea for repurposing music scores 👏
Excellent clothes decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Good luck with your weight loss journey 🍀 & keep up the good work with your step count 😊
QueenJess, you must be making progress as I have noticed that your net figure is now under 40 👏 Pleased to hear that you “survived the car boot very well” 👏 even if your DS & DD weren’t quite so successful 😞 All I can say is thank goodness your parents weren’t with you 😉😉 Fingers crossed that they don’t bring too much ‘stuff’ with them on Monday🤞
Nice to see you Florenceem 👋 A busy Friday 👏 Hopefully both you & MrF are having a relaxing weekend 🙏
I have caught up another page 🥳 I hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday & managing to stay both warm & dry 🤞 See you later 👋

oh dear! going in the wrong direction!!! I had a request on freegle about a year back for some roofing felt that somehow got resurrected. And someone contacted me to see if I still needed some. A bit of to and fro and his place was just a couple of blocks away so I zipped round to collect it. Seems it will be sufficient to re-roof our tool shed. And he had a big tin of roofing nails too. So 2 things in.
AND he had his driveway full of other stuff "free to takeaway". And there was a small stack of matching white Ikea picture frames. Perfect. So another 4 in.
Sigh.
Must go through my frames and either use them, store them or give them away. I have about 20 now, almost all from freegle.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Quick post after skim reading 60 or so posts. The concussion took a while to shake off and head is pretty much healed although there is a scab which will presumably come away at some point. I gave my hair a proper wash and I have hair appointment later in the week. I have been concentrating on painting the kitchen before units come tomorrow - no idea how long the work will take. Builder did a marvellous job and actually charged me less than the estimate although I have decluttered big money this week. £100 premium bond win was a nice surprise. Will try to keep up with posting although away for a few days from next Saturday.
447-451 Giving myself 5 points for loads of committee stuff done and sent out.
452 Banking for April done
453 All May cards purchased and some already posted out
454 A little gardening and weeding
455 Finally caught local gardener and he agreed to do some for me - four hours paid for and he did all the lawns edges, trimmed hedges and bushes and weeded - worth every penny
456 Kitchen paid for
457 Builder paid for
458 Kitchen painted - I feel the walls may need another coat but lots will be covered up by cupboards or tiles eventually
459 Tidied up kitchen and two black bags (plastic sheets, empty tins, old brushes etc) outside ready for tip
460 Ink cartridge for recycling
461 Bits from garage taken by DS2
462 Veggies planted out in greenhouse
463 Sorted cake decorating box and put lots of decorations, icing and food dyes in bin - some 10 years past sell by date
Looking forward to rounding up my kitchen stuff and putting it in new units. DD reminded me that DGD1 is going to UNI September and I can put basic kitchen stuff aside for her. I have quite a few things to do on computer but that should keep me out of kitchen fitters way. Sox continues to love being an outdoor cat and patrols his estate having standoffs with resident cats. They all just stare at him and none seem inclined to scrap. The little green opposite the house is a favourite spot and he has discovered tree climbing and thankfully that the bark is a better scratching post than my settee.
Right off to DS2's for some food - guess I'll have to start cooking again after this week. His partner has also kindly been doing all my washing.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

@vulpix I love the scout badges ... I have a camp blanket still with all mine on, and my two girls have started their own collections. Just wish their Guide company would invite parents to a camp fire so I can show mine off!The long weekend got a bit re-directed as I realised one of the planks had fallen off the garden shed and it was leaning even more. So some de-cluttering and tidying of the girls' den, followed by moving the garden stuff in there, so that we could effect a controlled collapse of the shed! All the fittings have been saved and we now have an extra errr... "patio" on the sunny side of the garden
and a lot of wood to be broken up and taken to the dump
. It all needed doing before we move, although I had hoped not yet ...
My younger daughter did her homework quite quickly when I let her know that she could have a new sleeping bag before Guide camp if her homework was done. Parenting is all bribery and threats around here! Older daughter helped paint the fence panels that we can now access behind where the shed was. Plus I've erased the hard drive of an old laptop and will now get it recycled. And I have procrastinated writing a sermon for SundayDecluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅⭐️ ⭐️, DH: ⭐️ and one for Mum: 🏅15 -
regnbue - I loved cutting out paper dolls and their clothes too. My mum got old catalogues from a neighbour and my sister and I spent hours cutting out beds and making slits for the figures to lie down.
Mrs SD - I suppose giving Mr F exercises is all the Doctor could do so discharged him.
florianatwobob - I went past there on Saturday.
We went to Church yesterday - I didn't offer to do any sorting of donations this week.
We watched an episode of the chosen and 2 films - "Nightfall" and "Without Warning.
Much cooler here today and a strong breeze off the sea.
