Good evening all@ Mrs_Salad_Dodger - Yes HRH Babyface denies me of so much, but that's exactly what I got her for
#
Today's Mayhem & Decluttering:Babyface has been under the weather for the past 2 days, Sunday was the worst, but this morning she told me she was ill by doing something in the house she would never do in a million years followed by drinking water like it was out of fashion - Infection! - Car out, babyface in & off to the vet while I'm calling them to let her know she's on the way. Her temperature went through the roof even with ice-cold AC on at 8am when it wasn't anywhere near being close to hot, let alone warm. Good call, as she has an infection in her intestines and bladder so antibiotics the size of golf balls for a week. First anti she was very unwell to begin with but 2 hours later she woke up and went crazy fruit-loops for 2 minutes on the upper garden lawn before she suddenly stopped looking shattered and dropped where she was with her eyes open; I don't think I've ever moved so fast in my life to get to her with an emergency medical bag & water and just as I bent down, she began snoring her head off - little minks!I aged 10 years in 1 minute
She's was banned from any further garden activities but was allowed to help me water the garden this evening having great fun under the hose spray - The Vet gave babyface a HUGE Konga duck with an exceedingly loud squeeker in it's beak from the pet toy display, as he spoils her far more than I do
which HRH is presently throwing around and killing in the hallway & lounge - Never a dull moment at animal farm
I managed to collect 2 very long pieces of Marine plywood for new babyface ramps very early this morning and will begin sealing them early tomorrow morning as it will take me all day to fully coat both sides & edges 4 times allowing for drying in between with hardening all WednesdayNew grip rubber & glue arriving tomorrow ready for afixing on ramps on Thursday morning leaving to harden all day and then metal side supports locked in on Friday morning ready for me to remove the old ramps through the day & dump off at the tip. My lovely neighbour is coming round to fit the new ramps on Saturday morning allowing time for babyface to test bomb proof them, but not before I actually go up and down them myself!
Decluttering wise, postie collected 10 parcels this afternoonand had to take 2 on the top of his mail trolly. I've got another few ready for collection tomorrow and I will be listing more items for sale this evening, as I'm loving the out flow
I did manage to pop off to Mr. Sains in between this mornings mayhem and expected deliveries today; all of which are related to babyface's ramps so they'll be no clutter left when I'm finished, to stock up on 2 trolly loads of free flat back boxes which are ready for decluttering action!
Needless to say, I'm presently enjoying a well deserved & relaxing fresh brew coffee or 2 before I go and get the foxes food ready and put it out for them
Mrs swan has been turning her treasure on and off all day & there are 2 huge king eggs which she is paying particular attention to while looking very proudMr Swan is preparing the river gliding along proudly and magestically while giving anyone and anything the eye-ball!
I will go and spend some time with him tomorrow morning in between sealing coats as he can get a little depressed waiting for his brood to arrive and not getting any attention for a couple of months. Bless him!
No doubt babyface will say hello, but soon shuts up when he even thinks about flexing & stretching his wings - HRH knows who the King is, that's for sure

@dizzycap please do use the photo. Congratulations on so many parcels out. Hope Babyface is improving and not worrying you too much.
@sqwiffy sorry for confusing, the hope is that while dd2 is in oz for a year , I go out there as have a cousin in Melbourne and one in NZ whose son is working in Melbourne and she'd come over there for a week/ weekend. And depending on work I'd extend to stop over and the way out/ back .
Dd1 went back to uni and I found another 20 oens in waste basket which don't work. Counting as one for me and also one of my own pens. Just home so will see if I can do anything else!13 -
Not a lot going on here - just back from a week's residential at college and have an assignment to do, and a service for 2 week's time, plus end-of-year reports and so on.While I was a way DH took the kids to the zoo and they came back with new soft toys, which we'd already decluttered to "you can each only keep what you can fit in this tub". So to bypass the faff I declared "one in, one out" and they've both given me some old soft toys for recycling. Success!Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅⭐️17

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday was a gloriously sunny & warm day with temperatures reaching a high of 22°C DH left the house at 07:45 & headed off on the bike for his first full day RBR trip - off to Derbyshire with a stop in Bakewell 😉 He had a lovely day getting 6 current landmarks & one old one + managed to get his steps in 😊Traffic was light coming back so he was home 19:20 bearing gifts - Bakewell tarts & homity pies 👏 I spent the day clearing down TV programmes from the planner, knitting & sitting out in the sunshine. DSis tidied her room a little & managed some recycling & a small bag of rubbish. Dinner was beef, mash, carrots, peas & gravy. Wudupa.

@Dizzycap - I hope babyface is responding well to her antibiotics.@GrannyKate - I hope you are recovering well from your fall 💐
@Maikdonmend - welcome, it’s always nice to have new declutterers on board 😊
@Liverpool_Anne - glad you were there to enjoy your team’s success. Take care of yourself and rest 💐
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - sounds like a lovely trip for Mr SD. Those two types of pies are amongst my favourites so I would have been very happy to see him!
@vulpix - I hope you are feeling better and that the house plans are working out.
Nothing too exciting going on here but I finally managed to remember to get the frozen food that I had set aside in the bottom drawer into the recycling. I don’t like to do it too early in case it attracts flies. Maggots appeared once so I am very careful now. Other fun stuff has included clearing and cleaning the sink and bath wastes in the bathroom as they were running very slow. Some types of decluttering are more revolting than others!
Also, weeding, lots and lots of weeding! I hope I can start replanting soon. I have been washing out pots to get ready for potting on my seedlings. I am rather behind but hoping we have some good growing weather. Certainly the weeds seem to be liking it.Enjoy the sunshine if you can ☀️13 -
Good morning all & what a wonderful glorious morning!
Just what the Dr ordered
Great going with all the wonderful decluttering everyone & @ YBR I love the hard fast rule of one soft toy in and an old one out - Perfect training for youngsters & one they'll hopefully rememberHappy studying & assignment btw.
I was up at 4am leaving babyface to snooze until 7. She's much more her usual self this morning standing at the back door with her usual snake charming tail of naughty satisfaction and looking at me while I finished off sealing the thick marine plywood - As long as she thinks life is all about her & living; typical Daxie, we're always onto a winnerBreakfast & anitibiotic delcuttered which will zonk her out for around 2 hours and is perfect while I list a whole load of decluttered items while waiting for the first coat of sealant to dry
Usual HH bins & surface clean up done now sterilising the washing machine as there's no washing left to do
and obviously decluttering a lovely mug of coffee tea as I really fancied a nice strong brew
Decluttering 5 parcels & packaging off to postie today
Expecting rubber grip ramp delivery today along with my mother ordering a selection from Iceland to be delivered this afternoon; not that I haven't got 2 freezers full of food bless her as she's coming to stay for a few days as it's bank holiday weekend. She worries about babyface as I know she adores her and the thought of her one day no longer being here, cuts her up. I think about that at some point every day when I sit and look at her especially as she has those grey hairs around her mouth & eyes beginning to appear, and I always well up and shed a tear or two - I can't help the way I am
Wishing everyone a wonderful declutter day & enjoy it while you can - take care & ta-ta for now xxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD May24/20 (4 x💯)# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £603.29 / £667.95 (90%)# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £9423.18 / £12,000 (78.5%)# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1170.23 / £1,378 (85%)~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺~ Decluttering Awards 2025: 🏅🏅☕️⭐️💐🏅⭐️⭐️☕️☕️⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £708.29 / £2025 (35%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯13 -
For anyone in the UK who is concerned about the possibility of a widespread power cut such as the one Spain and Portugal experienced yesterday (or even just a local one), take a look at this website, operated by Energy Networks Association (ENA) on behalf of the electricity distribution network operators in Great Britain, which gives lots of useful information of how to be prepared.
If you think you might need it, print or write out the information *now* - don't leave it until the power cut happens, because then you won't have any Internet access via your mobile, laptop or PC!
If someone in your household has any additional needs - eg elderly/frail or having essential medical equipment such as an infusion pump or CPAP machine - can I also encourage you to sign up for the Priority Services Register. To do this, contact your energy supplier(s): they each keep their own register. I can vouch for the efficiency of the system - when our gas main was replaced last autumn and we were left without heating, we were given (not just loaned) an oil-filled electric radiator to keep our main room warm as well as an electric blanket!

Hi chums, I hope you’re able to enjoy this beautiful weather. We have had viewings and second viewings so I haven’t had a chance to get out in my gravel garden for a little tidy up. It’s not looking too bad actually but I think it will be Thursday before I can spend any time in there.I have done a little bit of the ironing. It all had to go back in the wardrobe when we had a surprise second viewing yesterday morning. Mr V was just putting the hoover away and I said I would wait in the car. Erm, you are doing the viewing!
we have managed to tidy Mr V’s wardrobe. A new with tags sweatshirt has gone to the chazzer. He bought it unsupervised and it is far too big.We are off to view a house shortly in the village we used to live in. I spend my time going back there to community things and as I now am unable to drive it would make sense.I am going to !!!!!! n stitch this afternoon. Mr V is going to collect a free dining table and 6 chairs and take them to my Mum’ house. I will try to furnish our bigger house very economically.Floss, enjoy your free time. X
liverpool Anne, congratulations on painting the town red.I have written the post script to my story. The end is forming in my mind. I have the start forming too. Just the middle part to thrash out then. It’s all a rough draft at the moment.Just soft plastic and batteries taken to the supermarket, oh and I am churning out knitted and crochet items with the wool I have been donated.Oh, a lovely day for a bike ride yesterday for Mr SD. We have looked at a couple of houses in Bakewell. Nice place.Gotta go. Vx:13 -
Helloooooo! I am still around just keep forgetting to post. Coming to the end of medical stuff with blood tests and referrals (I hope). I’ve been put back on one lot of tablets for BP.Back to work Thursday!!!! Husband keeps teasing me that I will have to start getting up a lot earlier than I have been…….🤔
Im a bit concerned about him, he is wiped out and been having irregular heart beats. Now he does panic about things like that and has finally made a dr appointment…… his diet is dreadful so there is now nothing but salad etc in the house but he will find a million reasons to not do stuff……..
Dizzy there are 2 daxies a couple of doors away from me and they always shout at me to say hello and have a fuss!I am having a hair cut tomorrow and Rogan is booked in Sat. He looks like a yeti…..⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
