Good morning 😊
The total of things decluttered since I last posted is another 80 things. Ds and I did another clean and sweep of his bedroom. He's planning to send a few things back for my sister's grandchildren when my sister visits in June so I have my fingers crossed that a space will appear under his bed.
We've been out in the sunshine for a couple of mornings here and there to give ds a rest from his revision - he has his last exam of this semester/year next week. We've also been working on the garden which is looking much more respectable than it did. He was very interested to discover that the tiny creature resting on the mint leaves was a mint moth. He is now feeding the birds every morning then he and the cat sit back and watch war break out when the starlings arrive.
I've finished my latest cup of tea so time to crack on with the cleaning jobs on today's list. Take care all of you 😊12 -
Hi, at last life seems to be getting back to normal. Mr V did holiday cover all last week so was out every day at 5am. He has been to his usual going out at 5am job this morning. We desperately need a food shop, so venturing out to Macclesfield in a bit for a change. They say it’s as good as a rest!Happy kitties, you have the right approach in life. I know someone who is defined by their illness. Tbh, hard work for everyone else.Granny Kate, what a shock! Hugs on their way.Thank you Mrs SD for the kind words about my writing. Yesterday I sat and wrote a piece to read out at the next meeting. Everyone will find it hard to believe but I find it difficult to expand a theme. When I used to write reports for work they were renowned for being succinct. I have realised why it has taken me 15 years to put pen to paper on this project. I am telling living people’s stories. I am scared to displease them. I have come to the decision that I am writing for myself and won’t show any of them the finished product. I will give what I have to my son to do with what he likes once I and the people it involves have gone. This may not happen of course but it pacifies me enough to actually put pen to paper. It does help writing here. I have said it before, it’s like having pen friends. There isn’t much opportunity to write much as an adult these days.I have been wondering how you have got on with your helpers Wee Nancy?
Nothing done here other than household recycling. We must have a new post person. We live at the end of a cul de sac. Every day we have fist fulls of fliers. Multiples of each. We must be the last house before they go home!

dND - I don't like spiders. My eldest daughter was the one I called when a spider was found in the house. She would get hold of the spider and remove it - until the day she was bitten.
Washing and ironing jobs decluttered this morning.
I have cut up a Christmas Panettone for the birds - we will feed them when we go out after our meal.
I am using up sausage meat from the freezer to make sausage rolls - this is part of my using up stuff to run down and make space in there.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Evening allThere's so much wonderful decluttering going on, which is both great & inspirational for us all xx@ GrannyKate - Beautiful flowers
I'm so very sorry to hear about your fall and having to spend time in A&E. I hope you're on the mend and taking it a little easier when you can xx
@ Florenceem - Nice to hear that you're enjoying some great filmsI must admit that I go through stages of film watching and then take a long break which is probabl;y why I enjoy them when I return to watching.
I seem to have so much today that I've forgotten half of the things I've doneMy new day room has now morphed and I found babyface a ramp in the shed so that she can get up and down off the new sofa bed and she's been in her element running, jumping and rolling all over it while I got space to list more decluttered items with a couple more sales before poistie came to collect this afternoon, so 8 parcels out and the Mr. Sains packaging is beginning to look low even after a recycling fill up run on Friday
Will have to pop in again on Monday to see if I can get another trolly or 2 loads. After babyface's marathon garden helping she decided that we were going to take an afternoon nap because she was tired and wanted to get into my her bed for a snuggle in her fleeces
I was hoping to enjoy an ice-lolly but no sooner had I taken the wrapper off and was disposing of it in my bedroom bin than Little Miss Thief decided it was obviously for her:
Although babyface is full of it, she's very tender hearted and looks very sad since she became aware that the neighbours dog is no longer with usToday she refused to go past their gate and just stood there looking - It's heartbreaking for everyone at the moment and who said and come close to believing that animals don't have feelings & emotions & don't grieve
Time to pop off and feed the foxes and grab a mug of coffee, so wishing everyone a very peaceful evening and a restful peaceful sleep -Take care all & ta-ta for now xxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 18/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1234.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing12 -
@Granny Kate - sorry to hear about your fall. Take it easy for several more days - not just a couple.
@Florenceem - I loved Blithe Spirit too. One of my favorites.
Most of my helpers for the yard and clear out of furniture are on hold - we are having rain today on and off. Right now it is off, so I am going to the store for prescriptions and bread, maybe some stuff for meals for roommate Di. Have done one load of laundry today and will do the second load when I get back. Ran out of socks to wear. A necessity as a diabetic.
Hope everyone has a peaceful week. Just don't read or listen to any news from over here.13 -
I was so busy reading the thread this morning that I missed my bus stop for the mending workshop but a nice walk back. Pleased that I put a new zip in my new to me shorts (didn't realise the zip was broken when I was in the CS).
Dining room table is clear and kitchen reasonably tidy (couple of things soaking) . Have been working on paper work and study while listening to podcasts about Japanese minimalism.
More pens, plastic wallets, phone chargers and plugs in donation bag, and paper recycling, 6 books in CS bag, tarnished bull dog clip out, and other few small miscellaneous thing. Counting as 25,
Had hoped to take holiday photos off phone and save as keep getting notifications saying storage full.
30 in all today 717
Have taken some before pics of my files (or after this last week) with a big difference hoped for by the end of the year, as several shelves linked to big frogs.
@Floss, sounds like a fabulous way to finish work, great picnic, gifts and champagne - gosh your colleagues are going to miss you.
Looking forward to hearing all about your new adventures and hoping you take time to relax and chill along the way.

@ weenancyinAmerica - Great to hear from you again! I trust you are well & great going with the decluttering, even if things are on and off due to the weather
Feet are a diabetics nightmare for mkst of the time. At least you can still wear socks
I had to stop wearing them 2 years ago as no matter how large or what they were made of they'd give me cellulitis outbreaks There's nothing like fast moving infection on your feet and ankles. I now live in sliders / flipflops all year round and in all weathers, but I've got used to it unlike my neighbours who think I'm a crackpot
@ TC77 - Great going with all the decluttering & especially the paperworkIt brings back nightmares memories of the sacks and recycling wheelie bin fulls of shredded paperwork I did throughout last year, whilst buring out 2 shredders, no less
It's getting late so one more mug of coffee and we're off to bed. good night all xxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 18/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1234.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing15
