After being busy at SA on a Wednesday - I am always tired on Thursday - I had a lazy morning.
We had easy meals as LO SA Cottage pie - not Shepherds as it was beef mince. I have enough left for tomorrow's meal which is good as Mr F has a Doctor's appt in the late morning.
We walked into town this afternoon and took some bits into a charity shop.
I needed some cash - I had written a list but forgot to take it with me.
We looked in £land for more reduced tablets but the shelf was empty.
Posted some V parcels and went to the £2 charity shop to drop off a bag of donations.
There was a bus standing at the stop and it didn't pull away as we got there.
A man got on the bus and was chatting to Mr F - he comes down from Wimbledon on a Thursday to have lunch then heads back to the station to get a train home!
I have been trying to sort out my new phone - I don't usually have a problem but this time it has been difficult.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

oh fuss!! my Easter eggs tied for the homework prize at art class (granted only 2 submissions....ah well still worth £5 in my pocket!!) But this means as a winner of homework I should enter my work in December the overall winner. Which means keeping my eggs safe until the near end of the year!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hello and welcome to Maikdonmend.Confession time - after complaining about the number of books OH has coming in, I have bought 4 in the last couple of weeks. Oops. Will find some at the weekend to go.
Made a start on emails which at over 400 unread are out of control again.
One admin frog done - it was very important and should have been done last September so very glad it is done now. Made a decision not to do anything about another frog as it isn’t going to make enough of a difference to be worth the effort, so it is now in the filing pile.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅13 -
@Brie congratulations... I love your craft and art work.
Dd2 forgo to give the back of things to dd1 so back at home.
Remember couple of pens and paper from yesterday and mainly paper today. Also tidied a desk drawer with cards, paper and envelopes and found some now in scrap note pile.

Muddy walker- nice doggy photos. Not me with the yarn though if that helps narrow it down!Superloopersaver - All the best in your new home. Let us know how it's going.Florenceem - Well done in telling the van driver he needed to move.I've brought a couple of folders to go through while I'm at my DM's off and on over the next 4 days. We're one down as my DSis2 is off to Yorkshire with her partner who has a new GS for a nice break.TrialTrying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.10

@ Brambling - I trust that you've sorted out the feet on your new chair & delighted to hear that the cat finally forgave you for the unwanted intruders, although it seemed to take some time
Great going with the continues decluttering
@ TC77 - I understand how upsetting it can make other feel, especially if they are sensitive to the slightest change. Reassurance is always a good policy, but it really depends on whether you're intending to move. I thought you were, with you looking at houses? Or did I get the wrong end of the sticky wicket? Well done for finding a decluttering pattern that works well for youI always find decluttering is easier earlier in the morning as the distractions are minimal and I seem to get twice as much decluttered while usually waiting for a couple of wash loads to finish.
@ Moorviews - Well done with car boot decluttering! I had a day of that too with a couple of trips to the tip. I felt strangely satisfied, as the lovely guys hurled it all out of the boot for me at the tip, and both trips, bless themI do hope that Mr MV is ok, but he sounds very busy with decluttering and organising possibly selling some of the larger shed items., so that's positive
We have another recycling and garden bin collection on Saturday in stead of the usual Friday due to the Easter bank holiday, which has thrown me a little as I keep thinking tomorrow is Thursday & not Friday
I love Dalias, but I found the same with Dahlia tubers, so I ordered only 1 and it's lasted & flowered for 3 years in a large pot, and has just begun to shoot again
@ oceanspirit - I have the same issue when I've overdone it one day and have to take it easy the next. Unfortunately, when I get a spirt where I can cope with pain a little better, is when I tend to go for it because I know I'll be unable to do much for the next couple of days, but I've achieved what I wanted to and pacing each day doesn't work for me as I never know how my energy level or pain is going to be, so planning is dificult. I just write a long list of everything that I need to do and cross it off as I go along, when I can.@ Liverpool_Anne - Lovely to see you againYou've been very busy & well done with all the organising and decluttering, but do take time to rest, as it's equally important
We're singing from the same hymn book, but the words are in a different order
@ Maikdonmend - Well done for taking the bulls by the horns and getting control of your home again! It's never easy, but you can do it & there are others here who can offer support when times get tricky & a little sticky with decluttering burnout. A little each day keeps your sanity & the doctor at bayToday has been unproductive decluttering wise, except for 5 parcels packed ready to declutter off to the postie tomorrow morning, taking babyface for 2 walks & pottering in the garden for 20 minutes. I had an exceedingly bad night last night and ended up waking up after an hours sleep & being terrible sick. Doctors appointment booked for tomorrow as new meds side effects are by no means good nor managable, which is frustarting as I've worked for weeks with specialists to get the right balance, but it's no good if meds make you physically sickJust another day at the office!
Unfortunately, I had to sleep during the afternoon, which babyface absolutely loved
and woke up feeling sick again with no let up tonight & no coffee
Anyway, enough negativity already!
Tomorrow, regardless of how the night goes, I'm determined to plant some wonderful bear route lillies; which someone sent me and they arrived safely today, in a large garden pot, already prepared. I like to get them started before I put them in the gardenI'm planning on doing an early watering of the garden and cleaning out all the birdbaths & reflilling along with topping up the water features with my helper in tow as she fruit-loops around under the hosepipe while barking & chasing burty the bully off in between!
It doesn't sound a lot, but it is for me and I'll probably have to have 4-5 breaks to be able to complete what I've got planned. Talking of lillies, I took a couple of cuttings from a peace lilly 2 years ago and managed to get one to take in a large pot and it was glorious last year. I split the root into 4 early November and replanted in 4 spare large pots with a long watering & then protecting with home made straw mulch through the winter. Well, they have all taken and have gone off like a rocket. I've also found that 2 have seeded at the bottom of the garden down by the river, so they will look superb as they are both males are enormous already
Lillies are babyface's favourite and boy does she look gorgeously edible when she's staning in the middle of them when their in bloom
Talk of the devil, she's just wondered in the office demanding a cuddle and kissing me all over, so will have to take a love break as she's on the desk nudging my hands off the keyboard
Will love and leave you all for now. Wishing everyone a peaceful evening & a peaceful sleep - Ta-ta & a woof for now xxxxx

Brie well done 👏👏I'm volunteering the next couple of days so a day at home for me to get stuff done as I sit down too much on Friday and stand up too put on Saturday so I'm usually hobbling by Sunday 🙄I tackled the rest of my CDs and culled another 25 (I think they are breeding) which can go to Petworth on Saturday unfortunately there are still 120 in the two racks but they are no longer stacked on top as well and the two cases have been put in the CS pile. I tend to listen to downloaded music on my tablet these days but I've dusted off the player and will maybe cull more once I've played some. I'm thinking for those I only listen to one or two songs I may download them and rehome the CDs 🤔. I've also added another 15 books to go but as half are large thick books it will probably be two trips but I'll put both bags in the car to get them out of the house.
The magazine 'rack' (for want of a better word) was previously almost emptied but was filling up again so I've sorted that, into rubbish, recycling, CS and put away in its correct home, it's larger than it looks a bit like the tardis bigger on the inside 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin14 -
@sqwiffy - Oh my! I hope you DMIL gets the medical help she needs quickly and that it isn't as painful as it sounds. Sending her lots of hugs from America. It is hard at 88 to deal with a broken hip. Sending you and your DH hugs also so you will be able to take care of her.14

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday is bright & sunny (such a difference from yesterday 🙂) with a forecast high of 16°C & low of 9°C. Pleasantly surprised this morning, as despite the bank holiday, the recycling wheelie bin was emptied 👏 One load of washing done by DSis & pegged out on whirligig. I have menu planned & written a shopping list for DH & DSis - who left at 13:45 & got back at 15:35. All shopping put away. We finished off the Bolognaise sauce with pasta shells. Snack portion left to go in freezer. Wudupa
