2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering
I have utterly failed to keep up with this thread (again) and I don't think I can cope with trying to catch up on 156 pages soooo much love to whoever needs it
I have fallen DRAMATICALLY off the decluttering train, and am covered in bruises and despite running after the EDT it didn't slow down for me, so I gave up and wandered off to the local shopping area (who knew there were such great second hand shops in the middle of nowhere??) and got a bit carried away.
Never mind. It's finally stopped long enough for me to hop back on, and as I managed to move house in the meantime I have decluttered an awful lot of stress and debt.
Next week we are having a shed built in the garden, and then I can empty out the storage unit. Yesterday I donated a dining table and chairs, and a desk chair to a lovely local girl. I have also sold her my wardrobes, and given her my bedside tables. And I am still at a net negative for stuff brought in. Found my shipping bags, so back in the selling stuff online carriage.
Hoping to have proper numbers soon - but lets see. 9 items donated locally, 1 tent sold, several bags of rubbish jettisoned from unpacking, £350 worth of rubbish removals removed from the house (yuck, woman we bought it off left it in a right state), and a few large frogs eaten. I am going to award myself 50 points I think, although its probably more, and start counting properly again.

@foxandflowers good to see you and sounds like you've done so much as @dizzycap says. I've been here years trying to declutter with the intention of moving at some point..in total awe of anyone who moves- the thought of boxing up.thongs makes me feel quite faint!
With happy kitties inspiration a dress, jeans and jacket in cs bag rather than try and sell and 2 lots of paperwork both modest and some receipts. Will add nos later and try and increase when back from work. Always delayed looking for items but this morning 10 minutes for travel card I'd already put in my pocket!

I went to visit Mr F in the new ward - ready for confrontation - no one came to speak to me. Mr F said that a nurse had mentioned him going to a rehab place - 15 miles away. That is doable for me on the train - bus journey wouldn't work although free. I had informed staff in his previous ward that he had an outpatients appt on Monday morning in that hospital. It was noted and we were told that Mr F would be taken to his appt. When he moved wards - he told staff about the appt - he wasn't taken to it! I had been with Mr F for about an hour when they came to change his catheter to a portable - held on leg type. Then he was moved to the discharge lounge to await hospital transport. Other patients in the room were eating - Mr F had been left out due to the move. I got some food from staff for him and left about 5.15. Mr F sat and waited - and waited - after 8 - hospital transport arrived and said the hospital where you are going doesn't accept patients after 8pm! So Mr F stayed in the discharge room with 3 other chaps in beds. I went this morning with a case of clothes for Mr F as he is meant to get dressed at the rehab unit. Mr F's call bell wasn't working and he has no zimmer frame so asked me to request a commode from a nurse. I did this on my way out of the area. I asked at the nurse's desk if there was a time for transport to the rehab unit - was told 11 but ish. I walked over to outpatients and told them about Mr F's missed appt and the reason as I didn't want him to be blamed for non attendance. While there I met a woman who I knew when I was 10 years old - she recognised me and I did her when I sat down for a chat. Came home - told Mr F that I won't be visiting tomorrow as I will be busy at SA. I will visit on Thursday. Just had a phone call from the discharge area - had Mr F got a M & S carrier bag? The patient next door to Mr F has lost one. I knew that Mr F had a carrier but almost sure - not M & S. I rang Mr F who was in an ambulance moving to the rehab unit and asked if he had an M & S bag - he doesn't While I was speaking to Mr F - the hospital has tried to phone me twice - I expect about a carrier bag. Honestly - that hospital! So it seems that I got my point across to OT about Mr F needing rehab. I don't think he will be there long as steadily improving. I am looking forward to having Mr F home.
13/52 - a t-shirt and a jumper beyond redemption to the bin.
14/52 - a section of a drawer with receipts, old cards and other quickly stuffed away items (including the Swedish store drawer sectioner?!) cleared and out to the bin.
