CRANKY40 Golly how old is the House Elf now
?
Yesterday I did a bit of a garden declutter.
I had a nice little greenhouse bought for me by my DD and son-in-law for my birthday last month, and the seeds I had planted in the conservatory in small empty take away boxes and egg cartons, ( like to recycle stuff if I can, and the containers fit brilliantly on the window ledges ), were big enough to go into peat pots in the greenhouse, so now I have begonias, busy lizzy's ,and geraniums all flourishing in their little pots plus some sweet peas. I've just sewn some night scented stock seeds as I love those by the patio doors on a summer evening, the smell is gorgeous
My eldest granddaughter bought me a bird feeder that looks like a teacup and saucer, but has three small chains and a hook to hang in the bay tree.So that was duly hung up, and filled with wild bird seeds yesterday, and this morning when I went to hang some washing out there was quite a kerfuffle and three birds flew out from the feeder.
I hung the washing up and turned to go back indoors and there were three ducks sitting on the guttering and one dark strolling around the patio obviously waiting for me to go indoors Word much have got round that there was food to be had in the garden of Clover Cottage
I had some nice Mothers Days bits from both my DDs, and my yougest DD whom I live with had all four boys FaceTiming her this morning .Simon facetimed his Mother in Somerset so all of us had a bit of a group chat
His Mum and Stepdad are coming over for the day on the 12th as they will be on holiday in Lymington
Next Friday Ben is coming down for 2 weeks and then on the 11th the other three boys are coming over Henry will only stay for the weekend as he is off to Thailand on Good Friday but the other two jack and Mikey are staying for Easter. So the twelfth of April we will have a very full house, I will be baking for the boys for several days as they all have hollow legs
Tomorrow I have some more stuff to go to the charity shop, I had a good sort out of pillow cases and can't believe how many I have in the airing cupboard, plus some tablecloths that rarely get used so they can go.
The weather is glorious today so its definitely a walk on the beach with the dogs this afternoon.
To all the Mums, Step Mums ,Foster Mums, in fact all the caring folk on here I hope you all have a great day and get spoiled a bit
Cheers chums

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday: what a gloriously sunny day - high 16°C, low 9°C Happy Mother’s Day to one & all & I hope you are all being spoiled 🤗 💐 DH went out for his walk early as he wants to watch the MotoGP races undisturbed 😉 I have my cuppa, timer is set & I am ready to resume Friday’s cheerleading
Florenceem, a very busy Friday afternoon 🤩 no wonder you are losing weight 😊 although I do think it might be time to stop now 🤔 Sorry to hear that MrF now has 2 more conditions to contend with & even more medication to take 😔 I must admit that the thought that crossed my mind was that rather than being called the ‘Rapid Transfer Service’ perhaps a wiser name would be the ‘Safe Transfer Service’ with patient care being at the heart rather than emptying hospital beds 🤔 I will keep everything crossed that this time round, MrF will get a place in a rehab hospital/facility & that it is closer to home than last time 🙏
Lovely post ionafan 😊
GrannyKate, shame about the disappearing post 😞 I just hope it wasn’t a long one 🤞
TC77, I seem to remember in previous series of SYLO that the number quoted was 60% less 😂 although that might be just me projecting on how much I should get rid of 🤣 Good luck with both the clothes & email decluttering 🍀 & hopefully the 2 new frogs can be dealt with quickly 🤞 Please unwrap your kitchen bin 🙏 you know you want to 😉 Fingers crossed that the quote for doing work on the front of your house is reasonable 🤞
weenancy, This “Some times packages are sent to us from a town 5 miles away and have to travel 5 or 6 days and 800 miles to get here (following their tracking reports). I keep saying that the company should put a camera on the front of the truck so that we can see the country like our packages are. The record so far is about 3200 miles - with about 7 stops on the way - having gone to a town about thirty miles from here and then up to Northern California (500 miles) from here before coming south again. I considered making a chart on some of them. They are taking the vacations for me.” would be almost funny if it wasn’t so tragic/wasteful/annoying 😢 Although like Dizzycap I was tickled by This “I keep saying that the company should put a camera on the front of the truck so that we can see the country like our packages are.” 😂😂😂
Dizzycap, babyface is a little Minx 😅 I am so happy for you both that she is recovering so well 🥹
DH should be home shortly as he phoned about half an hour ago & as I have now caught up with the last of Friday’s posts, it is a perfect time to stop for a while. I hope everyone is having a good day whether or not you are a Mother 😊
See you later 👋

Afternoon all - Happy Mother's Day to all. I can't remember any of what I put in my lost post except to thank people for their kind thoughts on my bedroom. I've started emptying my kitchen ready for 11 April when works starts. Nice lunch out (duck) with DS2 and DIL and her family. Spoke to DD and had a message from DS1. I started my course to help with pre diabetes and have downloaded an app which tracks not only calories but also breaks down food into proteins, carbs and fats. I plan to try really hard to get weight and blood sugar down. Not much to report in for decluttering but some stuff will not go back in the new kitchen.

WOW! Hasn't it been a fabulous sunny day?I've taken advantage and had the washing machine running all day
5 loads of babyface bedding and fleeces; all dried by midday, I stripped my bed totally so had another 2 loads including an additional under sheet, topper & washable electric blanket and they are nearly all dry. It's on again with the first oftwo babyface's thick double winter fleeces and I'll leave both of those out overnight
I completed gutted and cleaned the bedroom with Henry hoover and I even changed the curtains; how I did that, I don't know
, so another load of washing to do before I go to bed
- babyface has been a little helper in the bedroom - rolling around on clean bed sheets, duvet, and then playing hide and seek under her clean fleeces before totally conking out mid flow
- Little Miss Naught Happy Tyke Day! Vet check up tomorrow xxx I've decluttered and washed all the HH bins, cleaned out the bird baths and feeders and filled all those, watered a few tubs of beautiful tulips, and cooking Sunday dinner in between that lot which I'm now going to serve up
Going to be absolutely dead on my legs later but it's been a positive active day for a change.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day and hugs to all those who are feeling under the weather at the moment xxxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 25/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing14 -

More gardening done today and when helping DD to tidy her room earlier, she wanted to get rid of a few things. So lots going out today. May have requested a few things on Buy Nothing though...
DH tried to work out how much money it's saved us and we think it's more than £1,000! Bring back community!
I did pop to the garden centre for more compost, but I was very restrained and didn't buy anything else. Determined to use up what I have first. I do need a shrub for a dark corner, but I have lots of nice ones already - so earlier I snipped two different ones and stuck them in pots to see if I can grow them for free. Very mse.Physical:
2 - seed packets used up
5 - plastic plant tags binned

DH got back 15:40 & is now zizzing worm food & about to fill the bird feeders before heading upstairs to watch the MotoGP races. I will be doing the prep for today’s roast dinner.
Starting with Saturday’s posts
Dizzycap, sorry to hear that you woke up Saturday feeling so tired & in pain 😥 Hopefully after another nap you will feel a lot better 🙏
Liverpool_Anne sounds like you had a lovely time with M & E ☺️ with the added bonus of a rhubarb plant 🥳 It might help if OH hand writes the letter but doesn’t actually post it 🤔 Lovely cheerleading as usual 😊
Lovely post TC77 😊 Sorry to hear about your neighbour’s DH 😔 Good luck with the clothes decluttering 🍀 Please remember Not to buy anything when dropping off clothes at CS 😉 Good luck with any listings you make 🍀 Hope the eye infection goes away quickly 🤞
Great & eclectic decluttering diminua 👏 Millie is a cutie 🥰 love her ears 😊
Wednesday2000, ouch to aggravating your rotator cuff injury 😣 I had that same injury many years ago & it took several physio sessions & home exercises over the course of a couple of months 😮💨 but touch wood no recurrence 🤞 I will keep my fingers crossed that you have a positive outcome as well 🙏 When I read This “I don't know why but I haven't enjoyed this series of Sort Your Life Out as much as the others. I did have a dream that I was helping some people to declutter a huge house full of stuff yesterday so it must have been from watching it this week!” & thought you had read my mind 😉
Dizzycap, pleased to hear that both you & babyface took it easy on Saturday & that babyface is continuing to improve 🥹
A few posts caught up but now I need to concentrate on dinner. I hope everyone has enjoyed their Sunday & the extra light 😊

Dizzycap - So good to hear that babyface is running around again.
Muddy_Walker - lovely photos.
I went to Church this morning - lovely Mothering Sunday service. I was given a pot of Polyanthus like all the other women at Church - we had enough left to give out to men too.
I am no good with plants so on my way home - I stopped at the nearby residential home and asked that it be given to a resident friend of mine.
Daughter and Sil called here with a card - I had already received their gift in the post - a Cornish food hamper.
I watched prayers from my old Church - Vicar announced the sad passing of a lovely lady - diagnosed with bowel cancer last month - only 54 years old with a 15 year old daughter.
I went to visit Mr F - he was asleep when I arrived. As it is the weekend - no OT and didn't see a Dr today.
Mr F has an appointment in outpatients tomorrow morning - I have told the staff so he can be taken to it. I searched Mr F's office for the hospital letter but couldn't find it - I think the appointment is for the Endoscopy dept but it could be respiratory.
Youngest son had put cards through the door while I was out. I received 5 out of 6 cards - youngest daughter's hasn't arrived.
Had a message from C - he wants to count tomorrow morning. Shouldn't take too long as we counted 2 weeks ago.
I had another V sale today so an item will be decluttered.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
