I survived my trip into the large ROD - got out the sewing machine and took photos. I sat down and tested all the stitches and the sewing machine is now listed on Eb.. .I was reminded how much I disliked this sewing machine.
I also listed a die cutting machine.
I will store the listed items on the top landing which is empty. I just hope the 5 things that I have listed sell.
Hopefully the visibility will be good tomorrow as I have another sewing machine to photograph and list.
There is also another die cutting machine when I have gathered all the relevant bits together.
It is half term next week so SA is closed.

DH & DSis got back 16:45 - didn’t buy anything apart from a hot drink. I hadn’t realised but I am now cheerleading posts dated the 11th 😅
Excellent decluttering of DVDs Willowtree222 👏 This “I put the non recyclable bin out last night by accident and someone has used up all my space” no wonder you are annoyed 😡 talk about inconsiderate 😤
_Dolly_Rocker_ sorry to hear that your Mum has been unwell 😔 & I do hope she is fully recovered now 🙏 I wouldn’t worry about the decluttering, you were fully occupied in looking after your Mum 😊 You will soon be back on track & remember that on this thread we have no such thing as ‘hoarding’ 😉 Rather we like to use the label ‘collecting’ & decluttering our collections is the objective 😅
Excellent progress on decluttering beauty products jacwins 👏 & brilliant work on reaching 13/52 on the clothes decluttering 🥳 This has earned you your first Gold Star ⭐️ - congratulations 🥂
vulpix, sorry to hear that you are still having to chase re “the stream issue” ☹️ Your cold is certainly making its presence felt 😞 I do hope that MrV can read your mind now that your voice has gone AWOL 🤞 This “Had a change of ornamentals in the sitting room yesterday. I have a change every couple of months. Put some in a cupboard and change about from different rooms. I think I worked at school too long. New displays every term. When I was first with Mr V he couldn't keep up. He would come home very regularly to all the furniture moved about the house. I don't have the scope for that here unfortunately.” made me grin 😁 just imagining the expression on MrV’s face when he walked in the door 😂 I do hope that knitting a baby jumper won out over dealing with household frogs 😉
Lovely post dND 😊 I agree with you about This “but I think a lot of us are far too quick to focus on what we feel we should have done.” We all just need to remember that we should treat ourselves as kindly as we treat our family & friends 🙏 Excellent work emptying so many boxes 👏 & yippee to finding the books you needed 🥳 38 boxes of books down to 6 boxes left to open 🤩 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 😊 Naughty cats 😉
Nice to see you Fizz2015 👋 Hope you enjoyed your afternoon off work & managed to keep your purse firmly closed 😉
Concentration is waning now, so will post & come back later. I hope everyone has had as good a day as possible & that the weather hasn’t been too bad 🤞

only thing decluttered today is quite a bit of hair. it's been about 3 months since my last cut and I knew I needed to be sheared - it was tickling my neck and making my eyes itchy. Shocked my art class yesterday as my bangs were tickling my one eye lid and I declared I couldn't work under such conditions. The tutor offered to go into her house and get some hair putty or something but instead I just grabbed a pair of 12 inch long scissors and snipped a bit off as they all rather shrieked in horror. It did mean I could get on with painting though so job done!!!
of course also decluttered some ££ as my hair guy does need paying. But it's only £30 which included a restyle and I heard him saying to a new client that he charges £45 so I know I'm getting mates' rates.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Evening all. Not much decluttering done as tidying up after workers. Windows finished off this evening so I will declutter money tomorrow. Plasterer is in making an amazing mess. He couldn't get radiator off because valve leaked - my lovely plumber came that afternoon and took it off. He measured for a new one and he will fit after decorating. Old radiator has disappeared from outside sometime this afternoon. Fencer coming tomorrow and I have chiropodist and hairdresser.
Sox has decluttered some of his boy bits today and has had a chip fitted. He was very good at the vet and didn't attack anybody. He's obviously a bit uncomfortable but keeps flinging himself about and has eaten well since I collected him. He actually purred this evening for the first time. I have purchased insurance and joined the surgery scheme for vaccinations etc paying monthly. He is booked in for his first vaccination next week.
I think I got a star 🌟from Mrs SD. Many thanks. I sold a second mirror (or DIL did for me) but will count when it leaves Friday.

Florenceem - my husband started using O'Keefes cream for dry skin on his feet and he said that is really good.
That SYLO episode was quite sad. I liked the bedroom of the parents afterwards. It did look like a bougie hotel.
I'm going to try and finish the book tomorrow and make up a donation bag to take on Friday. We are meeting a couple we know on Saturday in Shoreditch, but Friday we are going out locally so we can drop it off at a chazzer. I bought a few decorations like vases etc... when we were thinking of selling the house and I don't really like them. I'm getting sick of picking them up and dusting underneath them. Lol. They can go.

My HOD problem is my roommates! Their stuff is what is cluttering the rooms, so I am having a bit of trouble moving things along. I took in 4 people who were homeless or about to be and gave up my office space. They now have more stuff than I do.
Myself:
Have a very limited wardrobe. Except for coats (2) and jacket, will fit in two suitcases. Coats and jacket are the only items on hangers and are in entry closet.
Do not use make-up so no toiletries to get rid of.
Gave most of my parents' stuff away before the roommates arrived.
Have multiple bookcases for books - and have been giving them away at about a box a month (sometimes two or three).
Have papers contained in 4 boxes, two boxes in folders and the other two boxes to be sorted into the folders.
Have genealogy in 4 boxes plus one box of stuff to be sorted into the boxes.
Have 4 boxes of manuscript files for the books I have written. Don't know if I need to keep all of these, but am updating some of them. Have 22 books selling on Amazon. Even these are boxed in right now with roommate Di's mess.
Under sink cleaning supplies are in perfect order.
Closets of mine are all organized except for one shelf of medical and cat supplies that needs to be updated.
Need to organize some boxes in the closet upstairs to sell what is in them and some boxes in the garage also for the same reason - but can't get to them. Roommates have left so much of their clothing in the utility room that they aren't sure what belongs to whom at this point. As soon as the sun comes out to stay, we are taking everything out of that room and sorting it out properly. Mormon missionaries have already promised to come and do it with us.
Roommate G ordered two complete sets of pans online. Taken over the stove top and some still in boxes. Don't know why as we had everything already. The inside of kitchen drawers and cabinets are organized except for items on one shelf of the kitchen of stuff brought in by long-time visitors. Still haven't figured out what some of it is.
Bottles and cans have places where they go before being recycled. Trash has specific cans it goes in separated by recycling and non-recycling.
I:
Do need to straighten up clothes in bedroom.
Find a place for the Christmas decorations that can't be put with the rest because they are behind roommates' stuff.
Fold the crocheted blankets.
Put the medical stuff in a box- which I have.
Take Ice Cream cartons to Library to use as planters for gardening classes.
Decide which puzzles to give away.
Take rest of parents' stuff to my sister's house to make sure they get what they want and that most of the rest goes to my nephew and his kids. I takes up one half of my closet at the moment.
We are getting ready for some major rain here for the next couple of days. Expected to be the worst storm of the season. It has already started to rain. If this one is heading your way it should be to the British Isles by the middle to end of next week. Stay dry and warm.18 -

Florenceem said:Dizzycap - I had 5 people wanting to buy my item - some offered lower prices but I got what I was asking. Buyer lived near me.
QueenJess - yes I love to see where I have decluttered.
Dizzycap - yes that is the secret - no good getting rid of stuff then bringing more back into the house - what I have done in the past! I keep a record of NSD - up until yesterday when 42 days of the year have gone - I have 25 NSD.
Liverpool_Anne - my sons who are season ticket holders at Forest often fail to get a ticket for an away match.
We watched another DVD yesterday afternoon/evening - Mr Skeffington. I don't have many left now to watch.
Today is SA friendship/lunch club so no cooking for me.
We have sunshine! So just as I have good light to take photos for Eb.. - my camera battery is saying low!I almost did exactly the same when I was decluttering Florenceem. I was ok until I go to the last room which was the lounge and I suddenly felt really exposed by not being surrounded by unused/unwanted/old etc clutter, so I really had to change my mind set. I went through the lounge and thought is there any other room in the house a certain item would look better before I move it on? So I ended up house shopping in my own house and came up with some great ideas to add more warmth to a room with 1 or 2 items nicely placed. It felt as though I'd actually gone out shopping and I also wrote down what I might pay for each item I already had, a receipt, and uncluttingly rehomed in the house, as well as moving items along too! It's the same with clothes, jewellery etc I go through the clothes that remain and come up with new combi ideas, throw on a piece of jewellery, feel fantastic, and go and empty the bin outside, potter in the garden, or go out for a walk etc - even if I do it for a few days a monthIt all stops me 'comfort' spending
BTW Vinted has been hacked over the past few weeks and the site is presently unavilable online. The App is on and off while Vinted get things sorted. It reminds me of the old days on the Bay when the Bay got hacked most Friday mornings after maintenance!Decluttering for the Day:I managed all the HH bins as usual and have declutter them all again tonight before I go off to bed. All kitchen surfaces, daringing board, drainer, sink, and frige freezer doors and seals all sprayed and wiped down and cleaned out. I did the inside of the fridge this morning xxBoth babyfaces have had lovely walks today, although babyface2 was a little naughty, as I was expecting her to be with trying to push rules and boundriesYou've always got to be well ahead of a young daxie. She disappeared twice totally out of sight and ignored me calling her name on the first 'hunt' away, but got the hang of it after a little calm chat once I managed to locate her, followed by an expected stubborn defiant second 'hunt' away but I stayed exactly where I was, sat on a bench, had a lovely calm cup of coffee out of my flask, and then called her back after a few minutes. She returned as good as gold but was upset because I had ignored her for so long! Typical daxie
I've decluttered a few more items out of the house to postie today, along with the new packaging, but I cluttered up the dolly trolly this evening when I took babyface for her last walk, with a few inpost RD donations ready to go off to the charity shop first thing in the morning. The dolly trolly is parked in the hallway but isn't really noticeableI'm going to list a few more items and declutter another cup of coffee before I potter off to bed.Good night all - hugs & prayers to all that need them, and I know their are a few who do, but I hope things take a trun for the better for all of you xxxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 25/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing15 -
So today I skimmed the wall under the spare room window after I had cleaned off the condensation mould and scraped off the flaking plaster. I was hoping to paint bay window area before the GC came to stay but think the smell of paint may be overwhelming for them to sleep in so I will sand it over to make it completely smooth, give the room a jolly good hoover before I make up the beds and then push the dressing table in place in front of the patched wall. It has been a bigger job than I thought so I am not going to beat myself up about not completing job on deadline. I also.cleared.out my big cleaning cupboard and whilst looking for skimming stuff in shed I picked up a large broken garden pot and some plastic pots that needed to go
So counting that all together that's another bag for the tip. Tip run has been booked for Friday. Tomorrow we are having a new mattress delivered. ( Whichever way we turn the old one , one of us gets a nasty scratch from a broken spring so we thought it was time) In order to save £30 removal fee DH has decided that we can definitely get the old one into the car. I don't think it will fit and it is a thick one so don't think we can fold it in half. Friday we will see who is right. Watch this space!🤣 Will count bag when it has gone

@Florenceem - why did you hate that sewing machine? Sorry if i missed earlier posts about it. And are you giving up sewing if you're selling another one? I like sewing, making clothes with my best friend mostly but haven't had much time for it for a while. We had big plans to spend more time together when she retired in October but our first day out together got cancelled as I got the call about my DM.@GrannyKate - well done for coping with all those work men or women messing up your place ! And poor Sox !@Wednesday2000 - What's a chazzer please? I think I'm going to get rid of ornaments that I keep because they were gifts but I don't like them and just keep the ones that I collected and like enough to bother dusting.@weenancyinAmerica- You sound very kind but it seems that the only thing you need to declutter are some housemates unless they can agree to follow some clear space boundaries maybe, imho !Thoroughly enjoying an evening with my DH. Found a photo of Aussie, he had different markings on each side of his face, so cute.TrialTrying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.20
