It does make a difference as the stitches will be different sizessqwiffy said:@Muddy_Walker- Does it make a difference whether they are English or American crochet videos as American terms are different? I can only do a few stitches of crochet myself but there are obviously some experts on here. In fact there seem to be several different kinds of experts!U.S./Canada U.K. slip stitch (sl st) slip stitch (ss) single crochet (sc) double crochet (dc) half double crochet (hdc) half treble (htr) double crochet (dc) treble (tr)
So if you see single crochet, sc, in a pattern it's American.
Both naming systems are quite logical in their own way. The American is the number of times you pull through to make the stitch while the UK is the number of loops you have on the hook to pull through. But you do get used to what the stitch is likely to be. DxAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade BudgetDECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN

Dizzycap - I had 5 people wanting to buy my item - some offered lower prices but I got what I was asking. Buyer lived near me.
QueenJess - yes I love to see where I have decluttered.
Dizzycap - yes that is the secret - no good getting rid of stuff then bringing more back into the house - what I have done in the past! I keep a record of NSD - up until yesterday when 42 days of the year have gone - I have 25 NSD.
Liverpool_Anne - my sons who are season ticket holders at Forest often fail to get a ticket for an away match.
We watched another DVD yesterday afternoon/evening - Mr Skeffington. I don't have many left now to watch.
Today is SA friendship/lunch club so no cooking for me.
We have sunshine! So just as I have good light to take photos for Eb.. - my camera battery is saying low!16 -
Yes to all of the above. I love walking round my bed to open and close the curtains without having to climb over things.BudgetingBelinda said:On a day I didn’t plan to I pottered, pottering turned to decluttering here and there. Then a whole bag, a charity shop bag, old toys, tat, old paperwork, it snowballed and I did soooo much decluttering yesterday and I am on a roll. As I did so much last year when I do a bit now I see such a big difference. Also does anyone else like getting up in the morning after and seeing the room/s again and a fresh all decluttered! I love it!
I have a week off next week and I’ll be cracking on with the decluttering and things being relocated. Makes such a difference to how I’m feeling about life in general. 🌟🙌🏼🥳
Worktop is slowly reappearing in kitchen, another couple of jars finished yesterday and the next ones to uu have been retrieved from boxes.Deleted a few more emails yesterday and nudged a couple of frogs along. Something we were doing tomorrow for someone else has been cancelled so very happy to have a day’s energy allowance back to do more at home.16 -
@Liverpool_Anne my husband & FIL are also Red - but as we don't live anywhere near Liverpool, unfortunately we have a snowballs chance in hell of ever getting tickets to anything. Hope we perform better tonight than we did against Plymouth

I have decluttered waiting for a moving date and we will be relocated on Monday! Five days to go. Lots of admin frogs worked on, some squished firmly.
Given myself a stern talking to over having available funds vs wanting to buy things I have been staring at online longingly for months. Decided I can buy the things, but only if I sell enough stuff to fund it. This time next week I ought to have ordered a shed and started decluttering our 20 x 10 foot storage container.❀ debt at highest point: £51,062.14 ❀❁ currently - £32,019.56 ❁ emergency fund - £252.66/£500 ❁----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm just watching Sort Your Life Out now. I can understand why this family has so much clutter with unexpected triplets. I'm not finding it as interesting as usual for some reason. I just scrubbed my sink and vacuumed downstairs. I think I will do that every few days to keep on top of it rather than just doing the vacuuming one day a week. I did see an art class I wanted to join so I will do that now.

Wednesday2000 - I am hoovering every day as Mr F is shedding skin like a lizard. I creamed his legs and feet this morning - his heel is looking good.
We think a nurse may be visiting this afternoon.
Mr F is feeling well enough to venture into his office to reimburse his wife.
Tired after being at SA - I was very busy answering the door.
I took our meals home. We have now eaten - Toad in the Hole/mash and veggies/gravy. Too full for pud - have some later.
I am going to venture into the large ROD now.21 -
Feeling like I've not achieved that much the last few days. Although I did manage to return 6 hangers to the supermarket recycle point.
At least that is something!

Yes @weenancyinAmerica I've also got a HOD :
There's not one room that dosn't need decluttering. I hadn't actually realised that until now, oh my
. Well, i've sorted one of the two cupboards in the smallest room, the downstairs toilet and it still looks rough because we had damp and I started ripping off wallpaper to see how bad it was. We ended up having to have all the old cavity wall insulation taken out from outside and the walls are all still drying out before we decorate again. Thanks for the tip @Dizzycap I might try that.I never fail to be amazed at my DM. She's just her wound repacked by a nurse and it was clearly very painful but she tried to keep her hand by her mouth to stop herself from making a noise. She never complain's and always say's it's okay when anyone apologies for hurting her. So brave!
TrialTrying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.18 -
Good afternoon,
It's been a while since I posted. I had a migraine on Saturday and just as I was feeling OK the aura started up again with migraine number 2! I stuck to my promised 5 things decluttered as I was feeling a bit rough. Om Sunday I infiltrated my son's bedroom and whilst doing a bit of tidying and rearranging we decluttered 25 things either to the bin or to the donations bin bag. Monday and yesterday were both 5 item days as I was busy and didn't have much house time.
This morning I made a valentine gift for a friend of my son to give to his partner. It's a sort of crocheted oblong shallow dish for resting spectacles in when you're not wearing them . I didn't even know that they were a thing but apparently they are. I also made some little hearts to go in the parcel seeing as it was a valentine present. I already had the yarn that I needed so I didn't have to go yarn shopping which was good. I did have to go out for bread. I thought I had some in the freezer but now I think about it I do vaguely remember using it.
Edited to add that sqwiffy posted about her mum while I was still writing my post and faffing about. That's one brave lady.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday: Another overcast, chilly day with a high of 6°C - no rain forecast but it started raining about 15:45 ☹️ I was up at 09:45 & decided on another lazy day 😉 The last load of laundry was washed, dried & folded + put everything away - sort of as I just jammed it all into the wardrobes & drawers 😔 I need to be in the right mood to tackle them & I am not quite there …….yet. Household rubbish wheelie bin was emptied today & I have put in a new bag. DH had a bath then he & my DSis headed off to the Antiques centre about 12:30 whilst I settled down to finish reading my book (The Stand by Stephen King) DH phoned 16:00 & they are expecting to be home by 17:00. One thing I did do was try on the new bra I bought last week - it fits so I have binned 2 old bras 🙂
325 - 326 Two bras binned
327 Cardboard packaging (from new bra) recycled
I am now settling down to do some cheerleading starting from Monday
2Scratters, my DSis has a “snoodie thing” & apparently it is so warm that she only needs to wear a thin top underneath 😉 Excellent decluttering especially the cloth badges 👏 Thanks for sharing This “I have found keep going back through stuff is my way of being able to let stuff go without any pain. I've kept them for a bit. It's slow but is working.” strikes a chord & is a good way of not having any regrets when releasing items to new homes 😊
Excellent decluttering MadamMim2013 👏 Sounds like your sales are going well 😊 Missed out on the hm goodies again - that will teach me not to fall behind with cheerleading 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear about the cold ☹️ The trouble with having a cold that is not bad enough to keep you in bed, is that you feel guilty about not doing loads of work whether it be decluttering, tidying or housework 😞 Although it does sound like you got a fair bit done 👏 Excellent decluttering & well done on getting so much laundry done 👏
Brie, I bet the mice were watching where you put their food supply 😂
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 hopefully the full CS bag will be out of the house soon 🤞
Brilliant decluttering Soontobeoap 👏 Very happy to see that you are pleased with your efforts so far 😊 & so you should be 👏 Almost a quarter of the way to your target in less than an eighth of the year 🥳
oceanspirit, very pleased to hear that OH has been helping you to ‘nudge frogs along’ 👏 Good luck with the further “frog nudging” 🍀
Lovely post sqwiffy 😊 Great work dealing with “half of the huge amphibian that felt like he was on my back” 👏 & hopefully you managed to deal with the other half yesterday 🤞
daisy_1571, I am thoroughly enjoying it 😊 I think of Guy Martin as a very friendly puppy 🐶 & do admire his work ethic 👏 DH seems to think that the production company are determined to ‘finish him off’ 😥 😬
One page caught up, only 4 pages behind 😉
