Good morning my fellow declutterati 👋 at least it was when I got up & dressed at 10:30 😉 My it is cold today - only 2°C at 10:40 & forecast to reach the heady heights of 5°C 🥶 The bonus is that there is no wind & it isn’t raining 😁 I forgot to put my wheelie bin at the kerbside last night but it has been emptied 👏 & now has a new bin liner. I can see that our lady drivers of the EDT are egging each other on & we are speeding along like a bullet train 😉 so I need to get my ‘arris in gear with the cheerleading 😂
Floss, you have a busy year planned with the gardening & refurbishing the bathroom😊 Hopefully not wildly expensive 🤞 Another member of our Declutterati family who is basically in Maintenance mode 👏
Janeryan, good luck with both your house hunting & your decluttering 🍀
Excellent decluttering BlueJ94 👏
dND, so pleased to hear that you have decluttered the builders 🥳 It must be so nice to finally have the house to yourself so you can relax & start to plan your decluttering 😊 perhaps whilst doing a bit of a knitting/crocheting 😉 2025 is definitely going to be a good year 😊
Welcome back TC77 👋 A great breakdown of areas to tackle this year & I am predicting major progress in all areas 😊
Nice to see you Fizz2015 👋 Hope the new job is going well & I am keeping my fingers crossed that the 2 family members stay stable 🤞I still need to work out my decluttering aims for 2025 so you are not alone 😉
Lovely to see you back SuffolkSue 👋 You were definitely aboard the EDT last year but I think life conspired against you & you posted infrequently 😔 Yippee to decluttering a dodgy hip & of course getting it replaced 🥳 Hopefully you are now pain free & fully mobile 🙏 Here’s to a successful year of decluttering 🥂
Brie, what a great idea to use the charity bags that get posted through the door for your decluttering 👏 Two birds, one stone 😊 I look forward to following your progress through the year 😊
Nice to see you suzeesu2000 👋 You have hit the nail on the head - decluttering is definitely a marathon not a sprint 😊
Liverpool_Anne, I think 2025 will be your year 😊 Lots of decluttering of both physical items & weight 😊 This “I really want a new kitchen next year, been prevaricating for 2 years now, but we have a major issue to resolve in that we might need to have a downstairs loo put in under the stairs and this will impact on the kitchen refurb so decisions need to be made, not my strongest attribute” could be me but with ‘bathroom’ replacing ‘kitchen’ & ‘laziness’ replacing ‘downstairs loo’ 😂 I see (from a quick glance) that your wish for new people has already come true 😉
Another page caught up 😊 I have been a bit slow as I got distracted by having to write a menu plan & a shopping list 😅 The sun has come out & it is a clear crisp day i.e. chilly 🥶
I will see you later 👋

Good luck with the bed drawer @grunnie Sounds like a good small space to clear. I will go and do mine shortly once I have finished my coffee.
I booked a huge skip that will be delivered today or tomorrow - hurrah! Some of it will be filled by the gibble left over from the roof and guttering work, but there should be plenty of room for miscellaneous bits around the house and garden that are not suitable for rehoming. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I did the sorting in my craft room - I don't attempt too much at a time after having back pain last year.
Photos for listing on V are done.
C text - could I go and lock up - I thought activities weren't starting until next week - we have organisations who use the building.
It is very cold out. There were lots of donations outside the hall - I will get them in later.
Dd called round to collect her trays/plates/tubs etc from the gifted roast beef dinners.
Mr F has gone out - he insisted - I just hope he manages okay - I am feeling like a warder at the moment with keeping an eye on him all the time.
Tried to sort out my energy account but the site was playing up.

Currently got as far as replying to 30th December posts 😉 so might be a bit confusing for those of you who are not used to me being so far behind on the cheerleading at the start of a new year 😅
BlueJ94, like your idea of listing tasks for the day 😊 A good way to hold yourself accountable 👏
London_1, it sounds like you had not only a great Christmas but also a very successful visit by all 4 of your grandsons ☺️ Hopefully they kept you from overextending yourself whilst you recovered from your broken ribs 😉 I am sure you are correct about “my clutter secretly multiplies whilst I'm asleep” although I also think the ‘clutter gremlins’ have a lot to answer for 😂 I hope you have now fully recovered before you start on your decluttering of the moving boxes 🙏 Good luck 🍀
Welcome aboard the EDT EcoIntent 👋 I have noted your aims for 2025 & would like to say what a great start to your decluttering campaign 👏 Good luck with future sales 🍀
Excellent decluttering BlueJ94 👏 You have definitely settled in quickly 😉
Welcome back nannywindow 👋 I echo your sentiments for 2025 😊
Nice to see you back tibawo 👋 Shame about the poor sales at the Christmas Fairs 😔 but hopefully your idea of selling leftover stock as party favours will prove successful 🤞I also hope you were successful in completing the 3 tasks you listed on your 30th December post 😊
Wow Tjh1412 🤩 you are certainly motoring along on your decluttering journey - only the 30th December & you have got rid of or earmarked for despatch over 300 items 👏 Long may your inspiration to declutter continue 😊 At the rate you are going you will reach your target before the end of January 😉
Lovely to see you Florenceem 😊 Although I really do need to take you in hand - firstly you are not (and never have been) a failed declutterer ‘wagging finger emoji’ (sorely missed 🙁) Secondly I would like to give you a huge cwtch 🤗 Lastly, I would like to sing your praises, especially to all our newbies who are not aware of how much work you have done over the last two years. You are a marvel - coping with MrF’s health issues including decluttering & getting all the work done on your home to make it a safe & comfortable environment for when MrF came home from hospital in 2023 plus to my mind practically running the donations part of the SA single-handedly 🥹 Please, please be proud of all you have accomplished - you are an inspiration & a shining star 🌟
Wednesday2000, very pleased to hear that you have recovered from the ‘lurgy’ 😊 I think there are very many of our Declutterati family who have joined you in wishing to see the back of 2024 😔 It has been a hard & sad year for many 😢 Hopefully your elderly cat has perked up a bit 🙏 although I imagine she is missing her companion 😔 Here’s hoping 2025 is a good year 😊
Lovely to see you back mehefin 😊 After your sad loss last year 😢, I really do not think you should worry about a few cobwebs, although I see they have been earmarked for decluttering already 😉
Another page caught up but not sure I am winning just yet 😉 DH & DSis went shopping at 14:00 so I imagine they will be home soon so I will need to put the shopping away 🙁 It has continued to stay dry & sunny 🙂 Back later 👋

my skip has arrived - hurrah! Full steam ahead on clearing now, although I can't overfill it till the builders stuff is in.
I did my under bed drawers which filled a bag for the charity shop and half a black bag. Must go back and make sure that the little cat isn't still in the divan base. One drawer is now for presents, and the other cards and wrapping stuff. Nice to have finished something properly. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Well I searched and searched for those charity bags and could not find one anywhere. And then I went to the bedroom and lo and behold could see one peaking out from under the stack of clothing the OH has left on my dresser since at least April. (fyi - his clothing, not mine). So at least I've got a place to start - which will be with my stuff.
We had a lovely dinner last night (OH made cassolet with sausages bought in France in August (and frozen) and confit he prepped in October (perfectly preserved so lovely) so tidies up the garage fridge a bit). And while we were eating we discussed going over to Canada for a month or two to look after mom's farm that we're trying to sell. And OH also raised the need of tidying his office (not been cleaned in 6 years, seriously, but his problem) which contains old and therefore useless OS maps as well as all his parents' photo albums. He's determined to simply dump them as there's no one, including cousins, who are interested in anything in them. I shall likely give them the once over and pull out a few reallllly old pics and ship them to the cousins and then let them bin them if they like. It's all tied together of course - if we are away for 2 months or whatever we'll need someone to stop and look after our place even if it's just occasionally and in it's current state I don't even want to let people in, let alone be happy them staying here without us around. So potential deadline for his office and quite a lot of other stuff may be end of April. (small scream of terror ending with a lot of whimpering.....)

Stuff has left the building.. also a little came back in (Yule gifts, late due to illness)
I’ve stuck with the mantra “don’t put it down, put it away” and lots has been recycled and binned rather than piled in a to do..
OH fixed the sofa so I cleaned it and around/ behind also ditching dust and fluff in hard to reach places.. that counts as decluttering too right? 🤣
DS2 decamped to a mates for a while.. thanks to “mums taxi” 🙄
OH’s knee surgery has been postponed due to the antibiotics taken over Xmas.. ahh well, we are taking it that he’ll get the op when he’s meant to, frustrating yet it also means we don’t need to change our trip to York at the end of the month.. small wins!
Going to spend this evening list writing and journaling..

Just got home from work, I'm going to sort the tupperwear cupboard soon, but im going to choose something crafty to do/make.
I showed an interest in crochet and started learning it so this Christmas I had a LOT of crochet related items! I did make a cow I'll find a picture and upload him soon.
Yesterday I finished sticking gluing and putting together what they call a "book nook"

I would like to join in again this year if I may?We are back from our lovely December holiday and cracking on with the laundry and putting things away. Brought home more food than I would have liked however OH is slowly understanding that the way to having a clean and tidy home means bringing less in in the first place. Several new to us books have come in over Christmas however they are about a subject I am currently very interested in so will be kept. Just need to find some room for them on the shelf.
The cunning plan for the next three months is to use up the food brought home from hols (there is plenty of room in the freezer for batch cooking so am currently writing a list of veg needed to do so), continue with the paperwork clearance and finally do the annual filing cabinet sort out, tackle home maintenance and life admin frogs and spring clean our home. Also need to read the pile of books in my bedroom as most of them can go once read. I will do a review at the end of the three months. OH is fully on board - he loved the holiday and understands that if we want more of those we need to get up to date with things at home.
Also need to save some money this year to pay for the home maintenance that is long overdue.
And finally, I need to get back to healthy eating after a week of mince pies, cake and puddings!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅21
