I cannot see an equivalent Exclusive account.Doesnt specifically say fixed or variable.In additional info it says restricted to those living in England, Scotland and WalesUp to now Monmouthshire's "online" means completing an application online, followed by them posting forms to you for signing and returning in the post, before they then post your passbook out.I would be pleasantly surprised if "online" now means everything is done online and the account is up and running the same day.Because we are approaching the end of the month, enclosing a cheque with the signed form has previously been a good way of getting the first deposit into the account before the start of the new month. Although with a weekend in the way, getting the account funded by 31st July will be a challenge this time round (unless it is now a fully online process)1 -

Maybe in September if it's still going🤔
I've not had an account with Monmouthshire before - what are people's experiences with them? I saw on another thread about deposits being slow.1 -

Online banking is rather basic but you can still make withdrawals etc from them without issues, just remember to set up a nominated account.
They have been known to do some rather nice loyalty accounts for existing members (they launched an 8% loyalty RS alongside the 7% one I mentioned) so I'd definitely be inclined to get a foot in the door with them so to speak, particularly if it's a 6% one.3 -

They still issue passbooks for new accounts, just like they did years ago when I had a regular saver, personally I don't want/need one.
And Monmouthshire recently launched an app, which wasn't the best to get setup on either. (Commented on that on my companies without savings app thread)
I gave Monmouthshire another go last year I think incase some decent accounts came up & it seems this may now pay off, opened an easy access, the process was not smooth, I had to sign forms, post off, chase things with staff on phone calls, wait for things in post etc.
Monmouthshire don't seem to actually close you off on their systems either, so despite me telling them & being assured they closed my regular saver etc everything still seems to be there, zero balance etc, I can literally see it on the newly released app, so yeah if you've had a login etc before you might have to contact them to reactivate it etc.
I'd say only bother with Monmouthshire if you don't have any other options available to you because for someone so used to digital/online banking they are pretty high on my list for the most frustrating companies because they are so old fashioned.4 -

Have just spoken to Customer Services at Dudley BS as I opened my account last night but funds didn’t get credited until this morning. She has confirmed that as long as the account was opened on or before 17th July whether funded or not then you are eligible for the Loyalty RS.Just rang CS and was told that it had to be funded by 17th July so no point them sending me an application form! Oh well!
Not exactly typical.Yes, only by message and it's been a very negative experience all round. I opened an easy saver on the 17th but direct funding was impossible as their website stated that the payment page contained 'phishing' software and blocked it, so I made a direct transfer from my current account which arrived the next day and the account was funded. I sent the Loyalty RS form off to be sent a message today to say I didn't qualify for the LRS because my easy access account wasn't opened until the 18th?! Having given up the ghost even after sending them a screen shot including date of easy access account opening, I am now unable to withdraw the £250 in my easy access account or close it, so another pile of rubbish to sort out tomorrow. However, it seems that others have been ok with opening everything with Dudley - I certainly won't be wasting my time and energy with them again, once I get my money back!~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 24/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing0 -
I just happened to be in Chepstow tomorrow, do you think I could get things moving quicker if I called in to the MBS branch and opened it, I am a current member.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
