Furness BS 160 Year Anniversary RS

I posted an application form and cheque 1st Class on Thursday. My RS has been opened and is now showing in the app. That was quick, shame they can't get deposits to show so quickly  :)

Did you send the form to the head office or to a branch address?
I posted my application form by first class post on Thursday to the Head Office (Emlyn Hughes House). No idea if it has been received and the account open (I have no online or app access). Cheque (£160) not yet debited but this would not be expected to be through until Monday at earliest (if banked on Friday). The form was not specific to this account and had no instructions on it as to where to post the form. If I've sent it to the wrong place, this may cause a bit of delay.

If anyone else is thinking of sending a postal application, the cheque should be payable to oneself. Note that the maximum amount is the unusual figure of £160 (not £150, although that would presumably be accepted)
I also posted mine on Thursday, but  i posted mine to the Barrow in Furness branch, not the head office and the account has been opened and I received an email confirmation today confirming it.

    ESBS

So are they releasing a new RS at 6% or just upping the rate of the current one, meaning that we open the current one first an await the 6% rate increase on 1st Feb?

FUTURE SAVINGS INTEREST RATES - FROM 1ST FEBRUARY 2026

    Regular Monthly Saver  6%
(£1 min – max £500 per month) 2 instant access withdrawals per year
    (£6000 max)

It looks as if the 3.35% regular saver becomes a closed account.

Likely to be available to all? Online?

I've been a bit distracted in my attention to the thread in last couple of days. Can anyone clarify, is there any value in posting a paper application for the new Furness RS? If so, which branch, or head office? And with or without a cheque?

**Can one have an Online version and a Postal one at the same time?
This product is limited to one account per person.
There seems to be no Furness account access either online or via the app at present. I can't remember if there was maintenance this weekend or not.
Mrs B and I visited a branch on Friday and both signed the dotted line on the 160 Year Anniversary RS. We were shown a passbook with our £160 cash deposits entered but for some reason we'll get our passbooks via post next week(?).
I hate the way that the Furness show you your passbook but won't let you take it home with you when you open an account in a branch.

Every time it has happened to me I've objected, and have been told it is "for additional security". When I've responded that I've already shown them proof of my address and them putting the passbook in a postbox and hoping that it will be delivered to my house is clearly less secure than me taking the book home and locking it in my filing cabinet they reply that it is "policy".

It's a daft policy and I wish they'd stop doing it because it's idiotic.
