Melton BS Adcock Regular Saver at 6.5% appears to have gone to branch opening only.3

Loughborough BS have launched two regular savers:
Loughborough BS 1 Year Super Saver Account (Local) at 6% (var), £1k min monthly deposit, £2k max monthly deposit.
Loughborough BS 2 Year Super Saver Account (Local) at 5%, £500 min monthly deposit, £1k max monthly deposit.
Both accounts allow 1 withdrawal per account year (1st April-31st March) plus closure, are branch/post only and available only to new and existing customers residing in the postcodes LE, DE, NG.
Judging by the way they appear on moneyfacts they seem to have been launched before today so I'm listing them as being launched on 14/4/25 for now.

Kim_13 said: it reads as though you need a qualifying postcode regardless of being an existing customer or not. If that is the case, why not just say residents of LE, DE or NG?
To save people like me phoning up or visiting the branch and saying "well I am an existing customer of (nn) years, why would you wish to exclude such a valued customer?" etc etc0 -
My Zopa autosave to my regular saver failed to be taken from my Halifax account yesterday, although funds were available. I understand now that it’s meant to be taken through ‘open banking’. After it failed, Zopa said I should set up a payment manually. I tried to do so myself through open banking but this failed also, so presume the same issue caused the autosave to fail; I got an error message with a link but it doesn’t directly interpret the cause of the error. I’ve since made a BACS payment, but then I had to move it to the correct rainy day saver pot. I remember reading on here that this happened to someone else, but can’t now find that post to quote it. Wondering if anyone has any insight into what may be causing this, as Halifax and Zopa aren’t any help, so far.

Last time (Holiday Monthly Saver 5.6%) I've asked them to send me the form, scanned it and sent by e-mail together with pictures of ID - that worked, took only 6 days (incl. weekend) for the account to be opened. I'm not sure if e-mail application would work for 1 Year Super Saver, but this could be the quickest way.0 -

Taking me into my overdraft.Took the money back, not a major issue.April went ok, but I check every 6th of the month.1

I’ve always been curious about branch openings, but as the only building societies with a local branch for me are Coventry or Nationwide, it’s always been possible or required to open online. Do societies allow you to hand in a completed application at a counter and either process it for you or forward it to the correct department, or do you always have to have an appointment and they go through the application with you?
