Surely better to submit a postal application, as they will accept one. Even if the travel isn't costing money, the time taken must be worth more than a stamp.

Bad news (for me at least)So guessing Principality are fixing loopholes & probably manually?, it's ok though still got my others & still got Monmouthshire & could still get a a First Direct if desperate.

I'm wondering if Principality are checking when you reach a certain amount of accounts or something, there must be a trigger right?, maybe this site is the trigger, hmm 🤔 

I'm defo on their watchlist now, wonder if it's because I submitted instructions during the day.

Hope Dylan doesn't hate me.

Am I right in thinking you can even scan the application form (available online) and your POI docs and email the application (if you are not worried about email security)? Can you also pay the first deposit by FP or does it have to be a cheque only before they open the account?

No, I think we discovered that they want a wet signature on application form, physical evidence of identity (printed photo of driving licence) and a personal cheque.

Emailed application form is acceptable, but it must be of a scan with a wet signature so you'll need a hard copy either way.

Initial deposit must be by cheque in the account holder's name (which you can send in by Freepost if you want to keep docs in the post to a minimum).

Monmouthshire BS: That's strange. My payments (X 3) made by SO (FP) early hours of yesterday still not showing online but showing in app. It's always (for a least 5 years) been the second working day after date payment sent that it shows online.

Oh dear. Can you talk us through how you entered the instructions which led to this. Did your instructions generate a "sent" secure message? Where did you instruct the funds coming out at maturity to go to (internal or external account?)

Thanks, so the Freepost route is the sensible way if you have to send a cheque anyway! 

What are the timescales like from the day of posting off the application to the date the account has the cheque registered? I am wondering whether to apply later this month (with the added variability of Christmas) or wait until January and try to time it for a late Jan deposit followed by an early Feb deposit.
