    Tomorrow *is* Tuesday.
I don't think id be too worried about £150 over one day tbh. Though when I have moved money between Furness accounts in the past the debit and credit have shown as the same day.

The terms do not indicate that debit cards payments are accepted.

Just spoken to Furness BS and they've confirmed the 160th Anniversary Regular Saver shall be made available to online applications tomorrow so it would seem they've not yet reached the target number of applications.
Will it make any difference though for funding purposes - will I be able to fund the new account by debit card tomorrow  as part of the application process
Furness don't accept deposits into their savings accounts by debit card so faster payment'll be your best bet.

Or am I better putting £150 into the triple access tonight to transfer across in the morning (but worried that if I do this it wont be applied by Tuesday)

I am new to Furness and their mysterious ways so apologies for the obvious questions :)
To be honest I think you'd be better off just waiting till you've opened the account and funding by faster payment. It'll save faff and the money'd be in your account just as quick.

I've just logged into the Furness app and reset the password (back to the original password!) and then logged into the account online so I know everything is working.
Online I can see New accounts and it all looks straight forward once the new saver appears tomorrow.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think Furness accept debit card payments.  I think it is just normal bank transfer, that's what I do anyway.
Funds arrive the next working day if funding from an external account, so internal transfer is only handy if you already have money in their EA.  Make sure you avoid weekends, they don't process payments at weekends.
I suggest fund it tomorrow morning and you should see your money there on Wednesday.  There is a bit of cash drag with Furness.

    ESBS

So are they releasing a new RS at 6% or just upping the rate of the current one, meaning that we open the current one first an await the 6% rate increase on 1st Feb?

FUTURE SAVINGS INTEREST RATES - FROM 1ST FEBRUARY 2026

    Regular Monthly Saver  6%
(£1 min – max £500 per month) 2 instant access withdrawals per year
    (£6000 max)

It looks as if the 3.35% regular saver becomes a closed account.

Likely to be available to all? Online?
Yes. No.  Branch , phone, post. No online. This small society has but two branches: Earl Shilton (populaton 11k approx) and Barwell (pop 9k+)
Important fact to consider: There is a £30 charge for a same day Faster Payment withdrawal.
No charge for a next day FP withdrawal. (They used to charge £10 but  have since scrapped it)
For postal applications.  Do you know if they require ID documents/copies to be sent with the application or they verify electronically?

Interest rate changes - yet to declare

Can I just do a sense check please? These are my RS outstanding.

    Penrith (300 and e-saver)
Monmouthshire (RS8, app exclusive and branch exclusive)
    Melton RS6 and Adcock
    YBS £50 rs
    Leeds iss 58
    Mansfield RS4

    Thanks in advance
YBS's £50 RS declared no change as part of their rate cuts on 2/2/26
Leeds RS Issue 58 falls from 4.85% to 4.6% on 4/2/26
Mansfield have announced rate cuts from 1/2/26, I do not yet know what's happening with Issue 4, but their currently available accounts have their rate changes known.

The rest are yet to declare as far as I'm aware.

    Here's the RS 4 reduction Brid 👍
I posted an envelope containing my passbook with the note to close and send me a cheque and completed application with £250 cheque included.  Both instructions paper-clipped separately, I hope they won't get confused.  I received this email 5 minutes after posting my envelope, but not disappointed.  At the moment I'm happy to fund 5.1%.

App Downloaded to phone.  Cannot open the 160 Anniversary Regular Saver on the app as yet so I will leave to the morning and have a go,  You can't leave 6.75% hanging round.

    Newcastle BS Festive Regular Saver
I was told yesterday that the Newcastle BS Festive RS will likely go NLA soon, maybe end of the month.  It was planned for the Festive RS to go NLA on Xmas eve, but apparently because of it's popularity, availability was extended.
I don't know how closely tied Manchester BS management and Newcastle BS management are, but it could be entirely possible that Manchester BS withdraw their Festive RS at a similar time as Newcastle BS.
Or does anyone have any other information on this ?
So, I think, if you haven't gone for one all ready, the window is very likely closing.

Nothing on the APP, except the usual RS Issue 6 @ 3.75% or Website, except the BRANCH version of the 160th Anniversary Regular Saver.
I sent my completed Furness 160th Anniversary RS form, extra ID, and cheque 1st class post last Thursday and still not heard a bean and no account opened, as of yet!  :/

    Furness BS

Well, I don't hold out much hope for myself for the 160th Anniversary Regular Saver — just tried to open an easy access saver as a new customer and failed on the document ID (40 minutes faffing about with the phone camera, lighting, positioning...and after all that AND eventually successfully uploading it, I was told "Unfortunately were not able to open an account for you at this time"). Ah well, you win some, you lose some...

As you have faffed around already, it might be worth faffing around a little more by downloading the application form for the branch version and send everything through the post.
