So are they releasing a new RS at 6% or just upping the rate of the current one, meaning that we open the current one first an await the 6% rate increase on 1st Feb?FUTURE SAVINGS INTEREST RATES - FROM 1ST FEBRUARY 2026
Regular Monthly Saver 6%
(£1 min – max £500 per month) 2 instant access withdrawals per year
(£6000 max)
It looks as if the 3.35% regular saver becomes a closed account.
Important fact to consider: There is a £30 charge for a same day Faster Payment withdrawal.
No charge for a next day FP withdrawal. (They used to charge £10 but have since scrapped it)
They will also contact credit reference agencies.
Some unusual/amusing conditions such as - We will not return any counterfeit banknotes which are received from you, nor will we credit your account with the value of such notes. We will return all counterfeit or suspicious notes to the Bank of England.

Well, I don't hold out much hope for myself for the 160th Anniversary Regular Saver — just tried to open an easy access saver as a new customer and failed on the document ID (40 minutes faffing about with the phone camera, lighting, positioning...and after all that AND eventually successfully uploading it, I was told "Unfortunately were not able to open an account for you at this time"). Ah well, you win some, you lose some...As you have faffed around already, it might be worth faffing around a little more by downloading the application form for the branch version and send everything through the post. Thanks, but the branch version doesn't appeal to me.1 -

Looks like the MHBS terms have changed a little, allowing 2 different issues to be held, as they now say you can deposit £500 over two accounts and the overall max of £3750 is no longer given

You've previously been able to have two issues, but with a combined monthly deposit of £250happybagger said:Looks like the MHBS terms have changed a little, allowing 2 different issues to be held, as they now say you can deposit £500 over two accounts and the overall max of £3750 is no longer givenI consider myself to be a male feminist.
