Well I have good news! I have just received an email from new flat mate he wants the room! We have yet to agree date that he will come, othwerwise I am very happy, it will be like living with a friend, he is so very sweet. Anyhow he chose the smaller room, so I am still in desperate need for a job, which I honestly think will be imminent, lets see?! Anyhow I couldn't be happier, he seems like a really good guy, I am soo happy!
Anyhow I have a car service today then pick up the furniture for the office so action packed day today, I am looking forward to it!
Have a lovely day all that pass hereXX1 -
Ohh My goodness what a day, well I have a new roomie and I also have three interviews, one tomorrow (which is temp) a perm one on Thursday and then one next week!
I am soo pooped with going to get car serviced, went to MDs to pick up vehicle, went to pick up furniture, struggled and got help to get furniture in, then went to MDs, then went to garage to get new repair as parts had arrived, made dinner...Now totally exhausted!

I have a big problem, I may need to alleviate MDs credit card as I have racked up £900 on car repairs and service and tyres etc and I have credit card debt also as I used my card for one of the repairs by accident. I really need a job especially since room mate is not going to be here until September 1st.
On that front I failed to get the temp role I had an interview for today. I ballsed it up by saying that I have a few days planned in August, she was thankful I was transparent but then proceeded to give the job to someone else. I guess nothing good comes from being honest, yet apparently we all want to strive for that and be better selves. But Maybe my honest approach is not the worse thing as the job was not even 2 months long, although admittedly it probably would have solved problems for me financially...nevermind this is how it is. I guess I feel a bit of a fool because a lot of the appointments I could have re-arranged, or got someone else to do, however I do have responsibilities in my family and if they couldn't accomodate it I would be unhappy I guess I may be better off not trying to please them, and go with a company for the longer term, someone who values work/ Life balance and understands the family tie.
I think potentially I am okay and I will get a job MD said one of her lodgers at hers doesn't have a job and doesn't get up in the morning, at least I haven't fallen into that trap, I am actively investing in being active throughout the day and job searching regularly, going to interviews and generally trying my best, there are jobs to apply for and go for which I actively do. I have a few irons in the fire so you never know something right might be around the corner.
I am trying not to worry about the debt, I need my car, to see MD and get a job, she said she will look tomorrow to see if she needs help with the card, in which case it will either be a call to my mortgage company with the view to dislodge some of my OPs and send it MDs way or doing a balance transfer that will cover a significant portion of it or I have a possible 0% balance transfer on one of my cards they said as long as I have been actively paying it which I have, that it is fine to transfer, although I do need to look into it, paying it back will be difficult without a job too. On that front I have been thinking about current new room mate I just sent a message and I am waiting to hear back about whether or not he could pay £600 PCM for the bigger room. Maybe I should not have rocked the boat, but it doesn't hurt to ask - God I hope it doesn't! This is the difference between paying back or struggling! The surveys would have helped right now, I would have been happy to get the deduction I got as well. This is how it is.
If I don't get a job I really do need more money coming in and that is the long and short of it.

Okay good news, my new room mate is taking the bigger room for £600 PCM also I have asked current room mate for a contribution towards food which would mean I would have enough to last me until the new lodger comes! £45 to be precise which isn't a bad contribution towards his keep and will save me from asking MD whom has already done enough, lets see if he agrees?
I will have plenty to keep me busy between now and when the new room mate comes. As I will need to get moved into the smaller room, I need a place for all my stuff, I had thought when my new office furnture arrived that it would be better not there, but now it has been here a day I feel more keen to keep and also since I will be !shafted! (🤣) to the smaller room I need the storage for my office type belongings.
MD was supposed to be thinking about whether or not she wanted the furniture but now I am thinking I will keep at least the cupboard I am not sure about the filing cabinet. Yes I don't think I want or need the filing cabinet or the extra desk and office chair! So I will ask for them to be removed by charity I think if MD decides she doesn't want the stuff which I think she has but I will double check.
Today I want to make Cake, Lasagne and send back curtain I don't need and not spend any money.
Sometime later....
I have made the lasagne which was good, so dinner cooked for tomorrow too! I didn't make the cake in the end i'll do this tomorrow and If I get chance I will prep the curry too for the following day. I have finally decided to keep the cupboard I plan on dusting this tonight and moving everything there also tonight. I am ditching the new filing cabinet, I know such a waste, but I just don't need it! It will be my charity donation for the year, also ditching a chair and desk that came free with the office furniture.
I have the curtain ready to go, so I will return this tomorrow as well as paying in last lot of cash from the lodger, so tomorrows and tonights list:-
1) Go to post office and pay in and post
2) make cake and curry
3) bag up bags
4) Dust cupboard and place items in carefully and logically
5) put under the bed office stuff in cupboard
6) Assess what to do with under the bed stuff
7) Work out what to do with suitcase.
8) sort out drawers in drawer set 1 & 2 of bedroom.
9) go to MDs and sort out desk.
10) ask MD to see if she wants the office chair.
11) Don't spend any money.
12) put photo albums in the cupboard
13) Put washing 1 away
14) Put washing 2 away
15) put on washing
16) wash up after cooking.
17) Hoover bedroom and round the back of the bed

Today has been very tiring completing the list, I have now moved the majority of the office stuff to the new designated office, I have cleared under the bed mostly just a few items I am planning on keeping. I have not completed my whole list yet, but I have not spent any money which I am pleased about long may it continue.
I want to put together a new list so it is not as daunting:-
1) make cake and curry
2) sort out drawers in drawer set 1 & 2 of bedroom.
3) Put washing 2 away
4) wash up after cooking.
5) Hoover bedroom and round the back of the bed
I am pleased with the no spend, really and truly it sets the month off on the right note. It wouldn't hurt to save the remainder tasks until tomorrow, saying that it would be good to do tonight, so i'll try. A little resty poos first 🤣 !!
I have been working out cash flow for the next year, and it will take until June next year to clear debt if I don't get a job, Plus I want to add to it soon too as I would like to re-design my small room to make it a better second bedroom. I had always planned to do this it really would be good to do this before the room mate comes in the in-between times. The thing is I have a shelf unit which stops you from putting the bed clean against the wall and there is about 2x3.5ft space that is not doing anything and for a small room that is not good.
Have a good evening allXX0 -
I have cut my shopping down to £42 every two weeks in the cash flow, this has a knock on effect of getting my debt cleared by March, that is providing I don't spend anything other than what is budgeted. It will be a tall ask, but If I try I may be in a better position next year.

Good News is here, MD said I didn't need to pay her and SFD back, therefore I can start to save instead, however I have little excess cash until after the new lodger moves in, in September! MD also said I could borrow more to sort the cupboard in the spare room to make it more comfortable for myself I should be able to pay her back by the end of September/ October.
This doesn't mean I can spend irratically again, I need an EF pot so my first mission will be to save £1K, I will update the cash flow and see when I could make a K by? .....It is February and that is having Christmas off savings and having a budget of £42 for food every 2 weeks, which will be tough tbh. I probably shouldn't have christmas off and just pretend christmas is not happening...lets see what that does...It is still feb beacuse the ground rent comes out in December money so it wouldn't have been a big extra spend. instead of £42 shop I would have spent £118 on one shop plus £42 on another for the second week, I may still do this it would be nice to have a roast and all the trimmings and a few treats. That could be the focus for the rest of the year, looking forward to Xmas, and I am on the xmas 25 prep thread, well I listen in anyhow! From the bank switch that I did I have two Vouchers for Amazon, I could use them for gifts for MD and SFD and potentially the lodger. I think I will spend the rest of the afternoon looking for the perfect small gifts at least for MD and SFD.
My list from yesterday still mostly needs doing:-
1) make cake and curry
2) sort out drawers in drawer set 1 & 2 of bedroom.
3) Put washing 2 away
4) wash up after cooking.
5) Hoover bedroom and round the back of the bed
6) Clean bathroom floor
7) Re-do Grocery shop £42 Budget intact!
8) Wash up after bakery.

I am going to do a before picture of the room and an after picture, I meet with one carpenter tomorrow morning, it was MDs idea to reduce the size of the cupboard but keep it so the bed can go flush with the wall and you don't hit your head on the cupboard, but that it is still there, which would be great as I need the storage it depends how much and what he can do with it or whether or not he can do it?
I also want him to take off a cm or two off the bottom of the door, currently it scrapes the floor and I would like to get a carpet fitted in there temporarily for the next few years as the floor is shagged in there. Then there will be the question as to what storage to fit in the space that I create I will probably get drawers or a wardrobe, unsure I will see when the room comes together.
I have not done Christmas shopping but I have put toegther some items in my Amazon basket which comes to £93.18, this is for MD a nice top and a Hand soap she likes, for SFD Whiskey choc, miniture whiskeys and puzzle books from the year he was born. Also I have put in the basket provisionally Artist pencils (travel set) and sketch pad A5 this is for the new lodger, but I won't get that until nearer the time, or at least until we have lived together for a bit, I should be getting a £50 voucher I hope which will go towards it from signing up to a bank.
I have a few things planned between now and next week, such as MOT, Photo viewing, Interview. I would really like to write some more, I seem to have lost a bit of momentum because I feel different, it is hard to explain. Anyhow I must keep up with the job search, even though I could be about to get a job Fingers crossed as you know my track record!
Anyhow not much else to report, thank you for reading, it has been very therapeutic to write so I hope you don't mind.
Enjoy your weekendXX
