There always appears to be lots of opportunities and if you find it is your calling, you could then look into the nursing degree.dawnybabes said:Don’t forget you will probably have a student loan payment to come out of that salary as well. I’d def try some care work now to see if that’s what you like doing, it’s a big commitment if it isn’t.0

I recall being told to get a job doing something you are passionate about. I like money, didn't get a job in bank but I did work i accounts. CB your passion seems to be writing, could you get any contracts to write articles for magazines, local papers?https://www.pushfar.com/article/how-to-turn-your-passion-into-a-thriving-career-a-step-by-step-guide/1

@Chievely I know I am not passionate about nursing, however I am passionate about accounting, however I am having trouble getting a job in that field, but I am still trying. If I were to get a job I would go with it and ditch the nursing. I know I think I will cancel the application because I just don't have a whole lot of drive for nursing but then I think I could do it and I may enjoy it and I may get continuous work in that field? However there is no passion.

Scrap it if you're not passionate about it. If you are passionate about accounting, start upskilling etc to increase your chances of getting a job. I know cleaning the bathroom is fun but maybe look into your daily to do list and squeeze an hour or so for online courses? How are you feeling with your skillset on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. Go through each skill on your cv, rank and start from there. I know employers shouldn't be questioning gaps on CV but some do and then you can use it to your advantage.

I have a to do list for you for tonight:
- clean up your desk or table, or wherever you sit down to do the stuff and you will have focused, uninterrupted "me time"
- shower, nice refreshing shower gel
- dress in comfy clothes
- make a cup of tea or hot chocolate
- print a copy of your cv
- go through your skills with a pen and rank them 1-5
- if you have one low rank skill, write it down on a sticky note, put it where you'll see it everyday, bathroom and kitchen works best
- if you have multiple on same low rank, come back here and I'll tell you next steps how to prioritise
- background music optional
Let me know if you have a LinkedIn, happy to take you through some tips and tricks. Don't need to know the details and you don't need to be a heavy user, just if you have so I can provide more details on how it's useful for upskilling, job searching and interviewing. Don't worry if you don't though.

I know you are right. I wouldn't last in a caring job, I have done it before and I wasn't fast enough, and now would be worse as I am twice what I weighed then. I may not get in to the nursing course anyhow even with a degree they only asked about level 3 grades and I don't have the relevant grades. I am still deciding, tbh I think of nursing just as a job, not as something I am entirely excited about, and my grades don't cut it. But I could have regular employment with the course, whereas otherwise I don't. I am still applying for roles, so maybe something will come through nearer home?
Have you considered retraining in a field that draws on similar skills to accountancy? Areas such as coding, online customer service, or data entry could be a good fit, as they involve attention to detail, logical thinking, and structured tasks.

I think some free or low cost courses would be a wise way to go, after job search I will add this to my to do. Thank you for the idea. And I love the idea with the CV for tonight, I will be following your guide 😊 Thank you. It wouldn't hurt to get my CV looking better, polishing it a bit more and then getting it out there.
I do have a linked in thank youand I would love to hear what you have to say thank you.1 -

I have been in touch with a company today on that note and they are still interested as it stands, and there is another company also interested, so lets see what happens also MD found a job I hadn't applied for (naughty me) which I must now find again and apply for!
There is hope. Thank you all that have come and posted, I really value all your input, Thank you so very much. You have been very helpful all of youXX 💕0 -
The 101 of upskilling is basically you take 5 job postings off linkedin that you're interesting in applying. Print them off, go through the skills and mark all the skills they have in common. You then focus on getting these skills or polish your existing skillset. You also make sure you have these skills on your CV and can take interviewer through the story on how you meet them in cohesive way at time of interview. This is also how you build up your CV so it's not a collection of not relevant bits and pieces. I assume you are familiar with STAR format since you have said you did some prepping ahead of previous interviews, if not, I highly recommend to look it up and train to follow the format when answering situational "tell me about" etc questions.
