That cake adventure sounded epic - a story in itself - I would never dream of baking such a huge one

please don’t buy the chairs / it’s the opposite of all your careful NSD - and you still need a job and an EF first - there will always  be more chairs - I suggest you cut your cc up so you can’t spend on them !

I am impressed with your stories and getting them out there and you really interviewing a lot - you will get a great job soon
Thanks @LadyWithAPlan I appreciate your comments, I know you are right about the credit card, but sadly I have spent ahead, I actually don't have the money to pay for things right now, I know I have the lodger money but he may change his mind at any time, foolishly I have given him that flexibility. Actually saying that I do have some cash, I could actually put aside the money for groceries in another account, I don't know I feel the card is a lifeline. I still want to use it for groceries and DD for apple storage, but technically I don't need a physical card, could I cut it up? I have to think on this, I need fuel for the interviews, I have been out a few times plus I will need the card when I start working as I won't have the cash, so actually I won't be doing this just yet!

And the more I think about the cost of those chairs and the place I need to be the more I think everyone is right, I want to get in a better place financially, I want to be self sufficient, If I could chose to have a job I would have one, I have just been unlucky with the places I have been, actually I think I am lucky generally where I am but really I am not lucky, I worry about my future not only health but pension...somebody once said I was a failure and I have been thinking about it lately part of me beleives it, and well that is no good! How am I to succeed if I already think I am a failure? It really has a hold over me. Tonight it does - feeling blue this is no good for the interview!

Today hasn't gone quite as planned I have spent money which there is a good chance I will get back, I bought party favours for MDs 80th, it is fllower garlands like they have in haiwaii! I just thought MD is having flowers everywhere so it would be nice if the guests had a flower garland around them also it makes for good photos and pleasure! I will love to choose mine! I also bought some edible glue and edible flowers to put on the cake, I thought stick with the stenciling of the butterflys and then cover up cake with yellow flowers to keep the colour theme alive. (Golds/yellow and black) I am keeping this all a surprise from MD being that It will give her pleasure when she sees it all.

Also I have been out with MD today and I went to the furniture store the one I have been going on about and they said I could buy all the furniture I wanted for £1400, £380 deduction, which 21% deduction - so I am happy...actually very happy! MD also said that if she has my old chairs plus as a birthday gift she will pay £400, so I just need £1K! (Furniture is back on!!).

This afternoon I have prepped for the interview as best as I can, I am really looking forward to going and meeting them. I will get up at 7am, brakfast and dress, use my lotions and potions on my face, put some lippy on, get my bag together and head out at 9am for 10am interview...wish me luck...as it is tough out there!

Wow. I dident think that you would buy the furniture. Your mum is so good to you.
I dident do favours for my mums 80th. We had a sit down meal. There was a magician before the meal, a piper during the meal & then a singer & dancing after the meal.

I love nice looking, high quality furniture as well, kind of a 70s-90s/g plan style, and I am too eyeing few pieces while I know this is a no go for now, so I totally understand. Tempting but keep your focus on getting the job first, know what's important. Getting into more debt is just digging a bigger hole, you don't want to get there. Budget with what you have and for what is necessary only for now, brand new pay check may be just around the corner so stay patient and focused on the end goal. Patience and focus, I tell this to myself all the time lately as well. The furniture won't feed you when the money runs out!

Manifesting for your successful interview tomorrow, good luck!

That sounds lovely what you had for your mum, the flower garlands were £12.99 for 36, so everyone who comes will get one, I just think if I was to arrive and receive one it would cheer me up, especially if it is going to be not so good weather! (even if it is good weather). We will also have a band and a buffet!

I haven't bought the furniture yet, I will hopefully secure a job before I do, but with such a good offer on the table I think I probably will go for it!

Anyhow first interview today...wish me luckXX

You are quite right, and I am now going to focus on the job, I am not in debt and I don't think I need to be, I will work most of a month before putting on CC First off I need the job! So that is where I will focus- get a job! I wouldn't consider getting into to debt for the furniture because I know MD or SFD would end up paying if things went Pete Tong and I don't want that! I really don't they have done enough for me.

    Thank you both...However

I am now v worried, I went to the interview and I feel like now after it has happened I could have done a lot better, I said things like, 'A lot of employers find me unattractive because I don't have a lot of longevity on my CV, however I did work for X 3 years, y 3 years and z 1.5 years!' I guess that wasn't the worse thing, but then I also asked the question about disputes...and I said 'the last place I worked there were a lot of disputes and it was quite annoying' I should not have said 'annoying'. I just hope I remember for tomorrows interview not to say anything stupid! You never know I might have it in the bag, but still it would be good to avoid saying stupid things!

Also I know I out stayed my welcome as I saw the next interview candidate lined up after me! I was only there 30 mins! I think that is poor organisation having two candidates so close together personally! Hay Ho!

Now I want to immerse myself into the next interview which is tomorrow at 11am so off I clickety clogg.
