The tin has arrived for MDs cake and it is slightly dented so I have asked for a new one, however my lodger said it could still be used so I will get a refund in the end. Anyhow I was going to crack on and do it a bit earlier but I need to have softened butter so I have put it on the windowsill I will have dinner first now. It looks very big and I am now thinking that two batches is not going to be big enough and instead I need 3-4 per layer which means it is going to get very expensive to make also I have had to adapt the freezer to fit the cake in by taking out  a drawer and putting in some cardboard to rest the cake on. It is imperative that I use the freezer for the cake to manouvre the cake as it is quite soft and less firm more like a dessert cake.

I have also done some calculations and I am getting close to having spent £200 or at least I will have done by the time I get the next lot of ingredients on the cake, including tin, pallette knife and materials. I have decided to ask SFD for the money as it is getting a bit pricey! Also today I spent £20.36 on a brush to put lustre on and a stencil for butterflies, I really can't wait to get to the decorating stage it is going to look very good if I can pull it off, don't worry I will take photos, but it is not yet anyhow, just the cake making for now.

If SFD agrees to paying for the cake which I won't ask until I have successfully made one layer, so I know it will turn out right! then if I cancel my mortgage payment for one more month I can fully pay off the credit card providing I stay within the budget I have set myself.

I am looking forward to making it!

I have put the first cake in, I await to see how it turns out, I am not sure if it going to work or not? Also I am not sure what time it will be ready to come out! I didn't quite follow the instructions to the letter also the mixture didn't mix so well at the bottom I sort of improvised, but otherwise I hope it is good! it was quite heavy going in so probably needs a bit of extra time, I am putting it on for 45 mins to start then probably upto an hour and over also I imagine. Next washing up.

Also I have said to MD that if I get a job soon I will pay for the cake myself, also my sister is buying a cake also so if all fails at least there is a back up, I feel wiped out after making it...just need to do the washing up..eak! also I noted that Lurpak 200g has 190g in a packet I am now offically P'd off with Lurpak, they already shrinked the amount in a packet and it is pricey...how much money do they want to make exactly, talk about taking the mickey! I am seriously gonna look for another butter!

Also I did some calculations last night and I am within an acceptable range on credit card if I don't get a job SFD will pay. I have just done the washing up, but not before a quick call with the recruiter. I am expected to get an interview by the end of the week, it is definetely happening and I am still the strong contender. I am going to prepare this afternoon...afterall I need a sit down job now!

Ohh My god...mini disaster, the cake is a bit wonky, Can I get away with it? also MD said that 12 eggs is enough for one cake, and not to make another layer, I will have to decorate it well!

It is the biggest cake I have ever made, it has 600g lindt chocolate, 500g ground almonds, 375g butter, 375g sugar, 100g self raising flour, 12 eggs!

I am also not going to listen to MD because it is not very deep and it would make a good bottom layer, tomorrow I am taking MD for her hair appointment so I will make the second one on Thursday, All I need is 4 more lindt bars of choc! I have everything else!

I have an idea about the cake, MD gave me the idea but I have just finalised it. She said why not put paper in a tube and pour choclate and it will fill, what I think I will do is firstly make a second layer as planned originally cook it, cool it and freeze it. Then when it comes time to take it out, I will line the cake tin again, perfecting the lining so that I have a good shape. Then I will place the bottom layer in then I will place the apricot jam filling, then I will place the top layer on. Then I will pour melted chocolate in the lining and lots of of it until the area is filled thinking about it I think I will need more chocolate Once the sides have filled in and the top is coated I will place in the fridge to hopefully get a solid base to work from. Then I willl remove from the tin and take off the paper hopefully cleanly Then I will do the stenciling, and the glittering.

The aternative is to get the cake put on a a decorative board, put jam and top layer on, then butter icing the gaps so I am left with a smooth finish, then pour liquid chocolate over the top, put in the fridge wait until solid and apply stencil and glitter.

I can't decide between the two methods?!

With regards my story writing I have now received my lodgers presentation about young male suicide and depression. I have read it and I have written some stuff, but it is not particularly full to the brim to publish a story yet, which is crazy as he has written 8 detailed pages, I need to add more, I have done the basic story and helpful tips, but I need more juice, I am going to work on this tomorrow morning.

Also on the job front I have called the recruiter regarding the job I am most interested in (brewery) and I am still the strong contender, I should hear about an interview later in the week, they just have a bit of work to clear down before setting it up. I also received a call about a role in another county to mine however they offer remote working again it is a bit lower pay, but remote working which was what I was originally looking for, anyhow I have yet to hear about an interview for this but I did answer the phone questions well.

The question is do I go remote or do I go for brewery...I plan on going to both interviews should I be so lucky, but it is between a very nice location (brewery) and not far to go compared with staying at home, not needing a car and I particularly like winter being at home however the summer I would love the brewery and the walks. I will review again after any potential interviews and see how I get on with the folk.

I am going to work on the cake tomorrow, I am going to prepare the chocolate by melting it adding butter so it goes further, then place the frozen cake in the tin I have prepared and put jam on top making a nice jam layer, then I will pour the choclate over, a single layer. I will pour the sides first, then eventually when filled I will put on the top and then place in the freezer. Once solid I will remove from the tin and take off the wrappings. And judge then what to do next! I have decided not to do this now and wait until the day before bday party!

I have written Lodger story, but I am not completely happy with it just yet, so I am going to do some more work on it, perhaps I will do this after I have done the chocolate layer on the cake, I really need to add another page and a half, I have his presentation to work with I am sure I can find something else to write about, I just need to dedicate time to it.

SFD agreed to making a payment so I will get the CC paid soon so it comes off the balance before the statement is due, Thanks to SFD I am now up to 2 NSDs.

I now have an interview at the brewery, but they are taking their time with it, so I feel like it is not a good omen from previous experience, I think they would rather a direct applicant. But lets see what tomorrow brings potentially I will get the remote role interview, that would be great!

IF MD and SFD are spending £190 on a cake then they will get £190 worth of cake so today after the blood test I will make a second layer! and then when it comes to assembly I will decorate any wonkyness with flowers as per MDs request!

The rent money has come a day early so I am pleased about that! Also means next months bills will be paid!

I am up to 2 no spend days today but with today will make 3, however I am tempted to treat myself after the blood test, so that I reward myself for going as I really hate them! Although I like the sound of 3 no spend days! Plus I shouldn't be spending the money!

IF I get a job soon I am going to reward myself by buying new dining chairs and office desk, I have seen some I like and they are a bit pricey, but I am very much in love with them. The chairs are solid and comfortable the desk is beautifully crafted! I will only get the desk if I get a remote job!

I am now in the process of publishing my third short story, I am pleased generally with the feel of it, and I hope it helps someone. I have also made the second layer of cake, it is shaped better but still not perfect, anyhow that is the 24 egg cake done! that is the massive chocolate cake done! I am glad the cake is made, MD is getting her moneys worth, I will make it right.

There is a monster job to do with the decorating the cake once it out of the freezer and ready to go, MD said why not add some icing flowers to put on the wonky bits, so I think a trip to hobby craft is on the books potentially tomorrow now! I need to take back the spare tin anyhow!

I also have another interview I am pleased to say, I am yet to receive the email though confirming this?
