Hi Chievely sadly it was cancelled due to a response from my message about remote working. It took them all week to respond to my message so I thought I was in with a shot, then on sunday night they said they would cancel because they couldn't support a mostly remote worker!

Anyhow I did get some positive news a role has become available at a local brewery and I got feedback from my CV, they said I was the top candidate so far, however they were due to go on a short holiday so I won't hear about an interview until they get back which should be about 1st April!

Today MD said she wanted to pay off my credit card as long as I keep my spend down from now and It is not needed to pay it again in the future. So Credit card should be zero once the transaction has gone through. That does mean my budget now for shopping is £60 every two weeks, I already bought a number of hair care products before my credit card was paid, so I should only need the bear essentials for quite some time.

Above is a calculation, the left is my credit card after a heavy month equates to £260 for the month, to the right is the money I have left over after bills, there is a shortfall of £41.55 roughly speaking which I now need to make up with Prolific, however with prolific I would normally get more then this, which I will put in a pot ready to save for car service, mot etc.

Obviously I am hoping I get the job at the Brewery, but you never know what is around the corner!

I know, I am a bit jammy, especially if I get a job as well I will be able to save practically straight away! That would definetely be the cherry on the cake! Failing that I am on a tight budget, I have planned the next months food and even shopping lists, I am cooking a batch of 8 korean meatballs a slimming world dish from the comfort zone book as one of the batched meals plus, I am going to make a big batch of chicken curry the following week. I am not trying to go on a diet but the circumstances means I am going on a diet! whether I like it or not! Batch cooking is a way of keeping the costs down, I will use every last ingredient and I know I will enjoy them. Also my chips will be homemade once I have run out of aunt bessie, as they are cheaper...they also happen to be free on SW! as you are probably aware being on the SW thread @beanielou

I happen to be hungry right now, but I am waiting until tea time now, I have had all the snacks I could have. I do have some ingredients I could use actually to make some fruitcake at some point. But This week it is my lodger bday and I am planning to make a big chocolate cake for him..hopefully I will get a slice! 😂 It would be a bit funny if he didn't share it!

I am growing up!! I had a little epiphany just a short while ago, I have just earnt £15.00 on prolific and I was thinking that I would spend it tomorrow at the farm shop when I take MD, then I thought what could I do with prolific money, I do have a shortfall in cash if I don't win a job, but what I thought would be quite good to aim towards is getting all car maintenance paid off, look below...

I need to save £116 per month to reach goal with the shortfall for the month being £41.55 That means I need to earn £157.55 per month on prolific, I may not do this but it is nice to put a hefty amount towards it! This will be one of my goals and I may not need the tyres so potentially less will be okay! First goal £41.55 and I am up to £19.18 just another £22.37 to go!

I am not as angelic as above, I did spend some cash, but on things that were wanted! I bought a burger press from lakeland, I would have preferred a metal one but the lady sold it to me!! It was £8.99, then I also bought me and MD chocolate in the garage £4.00, now I have transferred £8.24 to car maintenance so not completely devilish !!

This morning I did write a few pages in the novel I am writing and I have taken MD to the garden centre in the end where there is also a lakeland! amongst other shops too! I have wanted a burger press for some time, I have made my own burgers before but they tend to fall apart, although this gadget does not look as good as some burger presses, I'll try it and see how I get on!

Feeling a little low, but trying to put a brave face on it!

I am very much not angelic today either what with a Farm shop spend of £40 which I am going to try and make up with Prolific over the coming days! I did make the most of the weather though and I took MD and she was thrilled to go, and enjoyed her goods, although she admitted that we couldn't afford to do that too often as well! She said the next time will be Xmas! Before the month is over I will try and make up the money on prolific, I shouldn't have done it, but it was such a nice day for it, we ate in the garden and enjoyed ourselves! The weather looks set to turn so I will stay in now and do my best to get the money back through prolific, if I can do it before month end I could potentially get all the emojis on the no spend thread...that is now my goal for the end of the month!

Everything is still going well with the lodger, we had a lovely chat last evening and we have just made plans to make a 'Bunny Chow' at the weekend. I am making the curry (chicken rogan josh) and lodger is getting the bread and making the bread side of it...I'll take a photo when it is done! (Actually when I heard about this I wanted to try it from ages ago!) This will be his pre-birthday feast, I am going to use Chicken thighs it is cheaper (2Kg to bone and skin £5). I just checked I have alll the spices needed, so just need meat and veg....I better go an update the order!

I am having a spot of luck on prolific with only now £14.77 left to make up, I had a nice £15.00 survey yesterday for 30 mins work, not bad hey! I will have it open all day today to try to make it up! All I need is another £15.00 one but I doubt I'll get this lucky, but then why not, I already have once!

Today I am most definetely staying in, the weather looks like it has turned from nice to not so nice! I am deciding whether to make the cake today for my lodgers 21st? that way I can concentrate purely on the curry tomorrow, which will take a while what with thighs to deskin and debone! and then also I'll know if I need anything else also I want to do the housework tomorrow...the cake should be okay...Actually I think I will make a different cake which means I need to do some shopping (using nectar points and prolific), and I think I will make one for MD as she has requested this a couple of times!

I just looked at the cost of doing the different chocolate cake (with ground almonds), I would be better off with my original plan and staying in to make chocolate sponge! as I already have the ingredients, so that is what I will do, darn it will probably be a bit dry! I'll get cream and I am using butter cream. I am sure it will taste nice!

    Sometime later...

I changed my mind again, I have done cakes with oil so I needed to get more oil and baking powder, I used nectar points and spent £1.86 which I will make up with prolific funds! I thought they would be a bit more moist and last a bit longer, not that they'll last long with me around! If I should be so lucky! Which means I need to earn £16.63 today or this week.

The cakes are soon to go in the oven so providing I don't burn them that will be job done! at least the first part!

I have cashed in the part of prolific fund, so I could pay half of the farm shop goods, so I just need to earn another £15.93 now.
