With regards to what people  are calling (run on payment). you must apply for uC on the day or following day  you are paid esa i migrated in November so was more worried about calculating payment date  before Christmas. the letter dwp sends is deliberately vague so I chose to apply the following week after my pay Week so I only received 1 weeks money not the two I was expecting and as implied in letter . On a side note Can I just ask does anybody know if they are meant to keep repayments for budgeting loans and overpayments at the same amount as on Esa it’s just I’m paying about £45 extra a month now to what I was paying on Esa. I’ve asked online. And UC response was I have to speak to debt management dept and go through my living expenses to get amount reduced which I think is an invasion as I agreed to a weekly it’s then that have reneged on the weekly amount.
Yes previous Social Fund loans etc should continue to be recovered at the same rate previously agreed - the only difference being you will have agreed a weekly repayment rate under ESA so it’s converts to a monthly amount when coming off UC Award.

If you wanted to check the way to convert from weekly to monthly is to multiply the amount by 52, then divide by 12.

Im supposed to get around £1250 a month but because of carers allowance, budgeting loan and advance payment I am having £500 deducted every month. About £165 is repaying loan payments. Luckily my budgeting loan is repayed in 2 months. I am still receiving more money under UC than ESA even with the deductions.

You should get 2 weeks of ESA regardless of when you claim UC....I claimed on the Friday 4 days before my ESA payment and then received another 2 weeks later which was for about 10 days of ESA...totalling 2 weeks.

The amount that you were repaying from ESA remains the same amount from UC, just converted to monthly instead of weekly - BUT if you have also taken a UC advance then you have added to that repayment with an extra amount for the UC Advance.
You are paying so much for the old debt (same as before) and so much for the new advance.
If you are struggling/in hardship with how much UC that leaves you then you can ask Debt Management to reduce how much they take each month.
Of course if they do reduce your repayment amount(s) that means that it will take longer to pay it all back.

EDIT- Just looking back at my old UC statements from when I migrated myself in 2021 it does show them as two seperate amounts - one for the UC Advance Payment and then another one for what I was paying back to ESA for a budgeting loan:

Well today Myself and my wife did the move over to UC online and was easy enough to do.

Just got to wait for a call from DWP to do a ID check at Jobcentre as we only had our passports.

Just one thing if someone can advise on and that is i got my ESA payment yesterday and i am in the support group for that so will i still get ESA payment in 2 weeks time as next payment is due on Feb 13th? and if so will it be the whole 2 weeks payment?

just trying to plan on what money we will be having coming in.

Also its saying on my online account that they will tell us on March 2nd how much we will be getting and it being paid on March 6th so will March 2nd be the 1st time we will know how much our monthly payments will be?

Do UC payments go into bank like ESA do between midnight and 6am or can it be anytime from Midnight to Midnight on payment day?

You will get another ESA payment, but it's not always exactly 2 weeks worth.

Your first statement will be available 4-6 days before your payment date.
Yes that will be the first time you see how much your monthly payments will be.

There can be a kind of sneak preview though.
Once you have verified ID then you will be offered  'New claim advance' which will be for the amount of UC they think you will be entitled to. .......
Note though that the amount of advance offered can change, eg. It can start at UC Standard Allowance then increase if a LCW/LCWRA (or another element) gets added a few days later. Things can be a bit fluid in that first month as things get worked out.
In fact when I migrated it was the amount of advance being offered that told me when my ESA status had been confirmed as an LCW element in UC, the amount offered went up when LCW element was confirmed.

The work commitments also change once LCWRA is confirmed, that is another way to tell.

Hi I'm in a similar position, I was wondering if when you apply online there is an ESA50 form or any such form you have to fill out all over again to apply for the changeover? I saw it asked about health but I didn't continue on with it, so didn't know if those questions gave way to an ESA50?

    Thanks for any help.
