The waiting is definitely the worst. From what I gather there are 3 potential scenarios, 2 of which mean he won't likely stay and the third means they 'may' be able to keep him. Not an overall positive picture, but it would be better to just know."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've had a very productive day today at work, managed to get some things completed that had been hanging around for a while. It's so nice not having to clock watch and stop for the school run. On the other hand, it's nice not having to spend the money on childcare so swings and roundabouts.
I sent DH into work with a list of questions/queries for his HR team. I won't miss their admin! I'm sure his details are wrong, and we can't access his online pension. His retirement date is definitely wrong, and the pension company have never responded to our enquiries. One benefit if he goes is that I will immediately switch his pension to one of his other existing ones. He's still got no news though so it's all still rumours at the moment about their jobs.
Little jwil had a lovely postcard from one of his teachers today. He volunteered to step in for an event (which in itself is very unusual for little jwil), and so he got a lovely thank you. It's nice because he didn't enjoy doing it in the end, so it's nice that he was appreciated, and I did let him know how proud I was for him stepping out of his comfort zone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi @jwil I was busy decorating last week, so have only just caught up with your thread. Sorry to read about the uncertainty regarding your husbands job. I accept that life provides it's challenges, but question why it appears to present several in quick succession! That said, having read your recent posts, it is evident that you are working your way through this latest challenge in a methodical and balanced way. All will be well.2

Happy holidays! I'm off now until Wednesday. The kids immediately requested swimming so we are off to do that later. They've spent a lot of time together the last couple of days while I'm at work and it's been lovely to hear them getting on. Normally they tend to avoid each other and do their own thing.
DH sold another item today so that's been packed and posted.
