Happy Thursday! Nearly the weekend, and it will be nice to have a break from the school run too. No more news on DH's job - they haven't been told anything officially, but there seems to be strong rumours that it's only going to last a couple more weeks.
I was going to put little miss back in after school club next half term, but have held off until we know what is happening. If DH is home he can pick her up and we won't have to spend the money. I can cover the first week, and then book in for later weeks if need be.
One bulky item posted today so another big item and a large box gone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

So sorry to hear about DH's job. I'm a true believer that things happen for a reason (not useful to note this at a challenging and unpredictable time) but good things may come from this if DH can find work straight away, it may be a change he didn't know he wanted/needed and it may lead to having money remaining from the redundancy pay out. You are taking the news incredibly well with a positive outlook, though I guess going through it yourself only recently is playing a part.

I think it's also partly that we managed before when it happened, and this time we are in a much better place as we don't have humongous childcare bills!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I'm so glad it's Thursday, it's been one of those awful days with back to back meetings, over lunchtime too! I got an unexpected break when I had a call from school to go and get little miss as she was feeling sick. Typically she's been absolutely fine since, and she was fine this morning. Apparently another child had been sick so I don't blame them for being cautious.
DH is going to take the kids out on Saturday to visit family, but I'm just going to stay home and have a day of peace. I haven't been sleeping well, so am shattered.
Still no sign of our water meter so we are having to pay the horrendous £127 a month until it's fitted. At least hopefully we'll be building up a bit of credit as they'll make the adjustment when it's done. They emailed to say they have a backlog so I'm guessing lots of people are trying to make the switch. I did fix electric and gas the other day as there's no penalty for exiting so if things fall I can switch again.
Although I didn't walk this morning, little miss and I went to the outdoor gym and did a bit so I have achieved my goal. I've done my weights and also done day 3 of the BHF challenge. I've nicely balanced that off by eating lots of chocolate 🙄"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Sorry work was so tough today.
Lovely to think of you and little miss working out together in the outdoor gymIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
