It's a shame that the lovely weather has ended. We're in a weather warning for rain today. I know the ground will need it, but why can't it be sunny in the day and rain at night 😆
DH had a good few sales at the weekend, so that made a nice dent in the packaging pile. I need to have a look and see if I can get it all back in the cupboard now.
He still hasn't had any word from his work despite the business clearly winding down. It's frustrating as it means he can't apply for anything as he doesn't know an end date. There's no point in leaving without that redundancy payment! He's obviously quite worried about what's next. Well done on sorting the pensions. I'm sure everything will recover eventually. I have 100 in shares. No real idea what I'm doing other than I can choose low medium or high risk. I'm in high risk. It went as low as 12 pounds the other day now it's hovering at £92. And good news on the state pension. Feels reassuring that you've almost ticked the box!
That's a whirlwind with your shares! I've no idea what I'm doing either. I think I'm partly in a green fund and partly in their recommended fund. I should be more proactive, but I don't know what to choose.
It's really nice to know I've nearly 'earnt' the full state pension. It gives more freedom around what I choose to do in the future.
Because I plan on retiring in the not too distant future, I think my pensions might be lower risk than they should be. I keep thinking about moving the date to my SP date but haven't done anything yet. I maybe should look into it a bit more. I can always move it back to lower risk in a few years time."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". There’s nothing worse than uncertainty. Once you know where you stand you can start planning. No wonder you’ve lost your mojo.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I've done nothing today other than flick through magazines on my ipad, watch a bit of TV and doze!
I've spent the day resting, recharging my batteries, reading and relaxing!
There you go, I fixed it for you.

Back to work today. My laptop seems to be doing a big update so I'm waiting for that to happen. It's nice that it's only 2 days, so I want to get stuck in today on a document that I've been struggling to progress. It will depend what has come up once I've got through my inbox though!
Again, it's nice not having to do the school run so it means I should be able to finish at a reasonable time today.
I need to catch up on my challenges as I haven't done them for a few days now.
I got a notification that one of my instant access savings accounts has put up the interest slightly which is good. It means it's higher than my PAD account now, so I shall start padding to that instead. I still get monthly interest which is very motivating. I'm also contemplating withdrawing my PBs after the next draw, leaving them in my PAD account for the best part of the month to get some interest on them, and then repurchasing them before the next deadline. I'll lose a month, but at least I'll gain a little bit of interest."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". 4 days off now. I like these short weeks very much!
I decided to start a little later this morning, and did 6 listings for DH and caught up on surveys.
DH has now had an informal conversation and is expecting to be gone by the end of the month. But still nothing in writing. We need to dig out his CV and update it.
One of my work projects is up for an award again, and this time we are being sponsored to go! So I get a jolly day out. It's one that we can go up and back on the day so that's good. I will probably need to go and buy myself a new outfit. My current clothes are good enough for day to day stuff, but don't really fit into 'smart business wear'. I haven't got long enough to rely on vinted or ebay and the post so I'll probably go into town. I could (shock horror) try and get my glasses fixed at the same time, and try and get a copy of my prescription. That shows how often I go into town for how long my glasses saga has been going on"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
