Knowing is better than not knowing. Hoping DH will find something new
I agree knowing is much easier.
It is 'common sowthistle' apparently. An important pollinator apparently, and it is edible. It's near flowering so I'll leave it. We're not really gardeners so our garden is usually left to go wild and so we have a lot of 'weeds'. A lot of them are quite attractive so I don't mind. I also have a lot of purple dead nettle which is also apparently a weed, but it's quite pretty and another important pollinator which appears to be true considering ours has been covered in bees since it's all been in flower.in_need_of_direction said:Typically anything that grows quickly in my garden is a weed. Unfortunate news for dh but maybe this is an opportunity to consider how he would like to spend the next however many years. Just try to ensure it’s not buying and maybe selling.
DH is more concerned about getting straight back into work so he'll probably register with an agency the first chance he gets. He won't be buying and selling. I'd prefer he took a bit of time off and tried to have a bit of a clear out, but he wants to work for his mental health, so I've got to be supportive of that."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thank you, it's not nice, and hopefully he'll get the official confirmation next week. I'm enjoying my book - a nice easy to get stuck into Reacher book.NeverendingDMP said:Sorry to hear DH news. Love the Reacher books - which one are you reading? I'm currently reading Blue Moon but nearly finished it!2

I have just finished reading in too deep which is a Lee and Andrew Child book.2

Don't think I've read that one @ladyholly. Will have to keep an eye open for it when I pop into the charity shops.2

I'm working my way through them in order - I'm on The Hard Way now, and nearly finished that. It's Bad Luck and Trouble next which was one of the TV series. I have the next 4 books, and then I'll need to hunt the rest down.joedenise said:Love the Reacher books - which one are you reading? Ah so sorry to hear the DH news. Everything economic feels so uncertain at the moment doesn't it.
I too am exceptionally good at growing weeds and very little else 😂
