It feels like I'm doing something every day so it helps me.

My two boys are in secondary school and seem to need about two pairs every half term… I reckon the branded shoes are definitely worth it from experience - they do tend to last long enough to make it worth it. Although even then I reckon it is about 3 pairs a year each!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Congratulations on the award. I wish your DH a smooth transition into his new chapter. Loving your sustainable approach to gardening. As always, admiring your juggling of work, family, house, money saving efforts and downtime."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". DH is working today, and I took little miss out early this morning to get her replacement school shoes. We got a few other bits at the same time including some new pillows for both kids as theirs are well past needing replacement. I'll wash the current ones, and if the inners look half decent I'll give them to a relative who will use the stuffing for making toys.
Just a pottering day planned otherwise. Little jwil's bedding is in the wash so I'll give his mattress a clean and airing. Little miss's room is in chaos again so I might venture in there to do little bits. We've bought her some new clothes, so I need to go and find the equivalents to get rid of."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Shoes for children are so pricey and don't last long. I feel for you.
Glad you had success with your glassesIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I've got the dread about going back to work tomorrow and feeling like I've achieved nothing over my time off. At least it's not long until the next long weekend. I've got no energy or motivation so really need to get back to eating better and moving more! I think I've been eating too much bread so am considering trying to go lower carb for a while. I'd just really love for someone just to deliver me all my meals each week so I don't have to think about it!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
