Just noticed today in the app, you can now apply for a chase credit card...

Never had a credit card before but thinking of getting one but I'll pay it off straight away (if you can do that!) so it's just like a debit card but with the added protection being a credit card....

Would preferable like one that offers cashback on all/most spending, do any of these actually exist?

I won't be spending loads on it every month, will just be using it for occasional large purchases.

Might just get the Amazon credit card as regular order & currently get a £30 gift card for signing up with no annual fee.

    Cheers

There are cashback cards, as above.
The only dawback I find to the Chase CC is that you can only pay into it using your Chase debit card account by transfer - all other credit cards (AFAIK) allow funds to be deposited from external bank accounts.

It can be any Chase account.

I use my Chase Savings account.

Well spotted - but the point is that you should be able to settle any balance from your external bank account, assuming you have one.

If you pay it off straight away, you won’t get the positive benefit on your credit profile, it will just show as the card isn’t being used. Wait until the statement is produced at the end of the billing cycle, and pay it off then. It won’t cost you any interest, unless you use it for transactions which apply interest immediately, such as cash withdrawals, or gambling, etc.

I suspect that the OP might have meant paying it off as soon as possible after the monthly statement is published ?

Can I just check this is a good card to use overseas? I note it says 'no fees from us' but does that mean no transaction fees from Chase or exchange rate loading so the only cost would be if you used an ATM overseas that charged you? Thanks

    That's correct, see

    https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/support/travel-with-chase/

The MasterCard FX rate is used.  Always pay/withdraw in local currency and let Chase convert of course.  I believe Chase ATMs in the US have no additional charges.  The debit card would likely be better for ATM cash in general - I assume that any interest free period would just be for purchases.
