If you've got £40k to spend on a car then you can afford an accountant........he'll tell you not to spend that sort of money on something that depreciates by 40% the moment you drive it off the showroom forecourt.
You're acting like a jealous p**** so i'm going to ignore any future posts from you - why bother posting if you don't have anything constructive to say.
I know that the depreciation on a new car is ridiculously high - that's why i bought my merc second hand and will probably buy this next car second hand too.
And I do have an accountant by the way...but he advises me on my business, not which cars to buy.0 -
My in laws have the Audi Q7, it's pretty bloody impressive! Think you might be able to get one for £40ish. Definately a head turner!!!I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0

I'd get myself a second hand, nearly new Range Rover Sport or the new shape Disco. Other than that I agree the Q7 is a stunning car and second hand I have seen them at around £35K0

The new Skoda Superb with the 300bhp v6 4x4 set-up and all extras for me please.
The top specced model will probably come up just about within budget. Only problem will be depreciation, but it would be a great car while it lasts.0 -
Just don't go shopping in the showrooms down Park Lane “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Happy new year.
Right, for my £40k I'd be defo looking at a RSX (where X = 4 or 6), E90 M5 (probably struggle at a touring), Merc CLS or an abundance of AMG flaovured Merc's.
Can't go far wrong with any of them.0 -
Mercs aren't what they used to be.0

I've read all of his posts in this thread and there isn't one hint of him lying, or one hint of him taking the !!!!.
Just maybe he has a decent job and can afford a luxury car.. Or maybe he inherited a lot of money - stranger things have happened!
Either stop being jealous, or just stop posting!0 -

(I do agree with your choice - I have two M5s, though they are both saloons, not tourings).
Why on earth do you have 2 M5's?
I'd try and have a scount around for an E55, but then again I do prefer my big mercs. Doubt you'd get a new M5 Touring anywhere near this amount yet, or an E63 for that matter.
My friends just bought a new Boxster S, thats a nice car and in you budget, however not enough room.
You've got several choices- make it big, german and fast and you cant go far wrong.0
