£40k to blow on a car - please help!

Not me, I wouldn't buy such a gas-guzzling, pointless vehicle if I won the lottery tonight. I'm just irritated by the idiot's posts - and not just on this thread.
You're right about his lack of sense though. Who comes on a money saving forum asking how best to blow £40k?
Face it, it's either a wind up or the OP's incredibly lacking in common sense.
You earn, you save it... stop resenting people spending it!
MSE has lots of people on here in debt, but also, there are those who have money to spend too. It is everyones forum.
I think, genuine or not this whole thread is, it does show people up as being a touch jealous.0 -

Ooooooo I think someone here is taking themselves far too seriously... pipe down, you are making this into something bigger than it actually is0 -
I think the OP probably is genuine - when I worked at merc, the vast majority of merc buyers were total knobs, or tragic mid life crisis cases...
... there were a few who were lovely, but they were in the minority, so it is unlikely the OP falls into this category!! ;-)0 -

Oh, and there's me thinking a little self-deprecation wouldn't go amiss on this thread. I've actually come to find this all quite amusing.
Incidentally, are you naturally this condescending or do you have to work at it?The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0 -
Just picking up on the end of this. Am I mistaken or are only people who are debt ridden entitled to save money. On Martins TV show he demonstates to well off actors and other celebs how they can save money on their outgoings. Surely everyone has a right to the best deal they can irrespective of whether they are condescending, in a mid life crisis or a total k**b.0

bert&ernie - various people have picked up your negative input into this thread... not condescending ever, but in your case I made a special effort.0

thanks for the special effort - I'm flattered. The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0
