DCB Legal bites the dust again for 3 PCNs and told to pay Defendant’s court costs @ hearing on 25/03

I am pretty disappointed as I was not aware of this forum and filed my defence via MCOL. I had 3 PCNs in a matter of 3 weeks for parking on a road that I was not aware was private.

My defence was that the signing was not visible and that I was transporting my friend and his son and had displayed a blue badge.

Really not sure where I go with the N180. Is this now a losing battle, now that I have admitted that I was driving the car? DCBLegal sent me still photos of my car but no video clips of me parked.

Just fill in the N180 by following the advice in the newbies sticky thread in announcements by coupon mad

Don't overthink the case, especially not whilst paperwork needs dealing with

Just ensure that you draft a superb witness statement bundle to try to improve your chances

We know that its DCB Legal, so which parking company. ?
  • It's Secure Parking Solutions Ltd. The images DCB Legal emailed across were all stills and was not even enough to show me physically parking.

I did ask for them to send the video evidence, but they did not respond.

Who would be the witness be in this situation?

You, you are witness number 1, the Court process will order you to file your WS + Exhibits bundle to both parties, usually by a fortnight before the hearing date , that date is likely to be next year sometime
  • I don't even know where to start. I can see that there is signage, but I did not know that roads were private. It's pretty poor on my end for not knowing but how do I even argue it.

I've read the newbies thread but I obviously didn't appeal the fine via POPOL and my defence wasn't blank. Not feeling confident at this point :(

All irrelevant at the moment, your N180 needs to be downloaded, filled in and emailed to the DQ email address at the CNBC in Northampton, plus a copy to the lawyers too

Once completed, post a verbatim copy of your submitted defence below

PS, it was an INVOICE, not a fine

But DCB Legal discontinue claims later on, usually, even in a 3 PCN case.  And if they don't, then you do a great WS and will probably won on unclear signage at a hearing. And if you don't win, you will see the £750 claim reduced by about half by a canny Judge.

So this is a no-brainer to see out! No risk. Interesting life experience if you do get a hearing.  I've been to loads.  Judges generally suss the scam of parking firms now.

Anyway please go back to the N180 section of the NEWBIES thread.

And read the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread which gives you the email address for the N180 and how to handle the daft Mediation 3 minute phone call.

    NO MAKING AN OFFER!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Here's their claim.

So £210 or more in spurious charges, mainly added debt collectors charges at £70 a pop that were never incurred plus over calculated interest

    So keep following the processes

Ah £750.  LOL!  Three PCNs are not £750.

As I said: if you don't win, you will see the £750 claim reduced by about half by a canny Judge.

    Nothing has changed.

Read the TWO Announcement threads I advised you to go back to now.  Easy stage.

  • I've just emailed over the n180, to the court and claimant, following the 12 step thread.

My next step is to work out how to provide evidence when my original mcol defense had me admitted driving the car with a disabled passenger that had a blue badge.
