Once you feel able to do so, you might also want to consider self-referral for talking therapy on the NHS. I suspect there might be a wait, unless it's a bit automated.
How to access mental health services - NHS1 -
Hello again everyone,
I just thought I would check back in again. Thank you for the help and advice I was given last time I posted.
I have been very up and down (mostly down, but trying to be more up!) over the last couple of months. Christmas was tough, as my mind naturally wandered towards thoughts of possibly being old and alone at a time when there is so much emphasis on family.
I have been trying to think positively for the new year though and will continue to work on building more friendships.2 -
Happy new year OP, keep on going onwards and upwards. Christmas can be difficult even (especially
) if you have family reunions over the holiday

Our lives are like a book, the first half of the book is already written, but what happens in the next chapter, or how the story ends, that is up to you!Think first of your goal, then make it happen!1

Happy New Year to you too 😊LHW99 said:Happy new year OP, keep on going onwards and upwards. Christmas can be difficult even (especially

A good way of looking at things! I just hope I can write myself a happy ending.barnstar2077 said:Our lives are like a book, the first half of the book is already written, but what happens in the next chapter, or how the story ends, that is up to you!2 -
I know that things are going to get better for you. Mainly because you are being proactive. Once you go from reacting (stuff happening to you), to being proactive (making stuff happen) you stack the odds in your favour.Worried_and_alone said:

I just wish I had had the mindset I have now when I was a kid, but youth is wasted on the young as they say : )Think first of your goal, then make it happen!1 -
Thank you very much. That is very kind of you to say. Occasionally I do try to give myself my own little round of applause for keeping going and trying to find solutions to my worries, even though some days the worries overwhelm me, and all I want to do is stay in bed!barnstar2077 said:

I am having another down day! In fact my worry has been off the scale this week. On the plus side, an apartment has come up for sale in the retirement village I wish to move to. So I have been day dreaming about buying it. Problem is I am 37 and the minimum age is 55!0

Sorry to hear that. Do you think you might find more comfort and relevant comment on a board designed for people who are having a rough time with their mental health? Everyone is entitled to support, but I'm not sure that a forum designed for technical comments on pensions and other financial instruments related to retirement is going to be the most helpful for you.Worried_and_alone said:I am having another down day!
