@Idee2111. I don’t know how old your mum is. I am early 60’s and flatly refuse to wear something round my neck. I have an iwatch which has a falls detector. That works well for me. Accidental NSD12 as boilerman cancelled ......at 3pm. I got up at 6am for him. The Swine!
He is (allegedly) coming tomorrow now.
I read some of this week's book (Brave New World) and started Season 4 of Shetland.
Made a red lentil Dahl for supper from stores.
The kitchen is clean and I have used up all my purple baubles on my wreath, so will need to go charity shopping for some more on Thursday.
One set of Xmas lights will not come on. I will swap.out the fuse, check every blasted bulb, and recycle if necessary.
Hugs to all who needs one, 🍾 🥂 to all those celebrating 🎉 🎉 😉

hugs Beanie.
I spent the afternoon on the couch rescuing vegetables whilst watching a new to me detective series. I've cooked brisket in the oven with potatoes, carrots, leeks and celery and made a chicken stew (found another single breast in the freezer) with leeks, carrots, celery, cabbage, flat lentils and pearl barley. Rescued most of the bag of small carrots and the two largest big carrots. They were fine on the inside but black and slimy on the outside so mid afternoon I did a risk assessment and decided (as the carrots got cleaner and my hands got blacker and slippy) that the price of half a bag of carrots thrown away was less than the cost of having to go to the walk-in centre with a serious injury. Both dishes were quite late to cook so I ate a way past it's date 'fresh' minestrone soup to keep me going. Lunch was 2 wraps with cheese spread and halved baby tomatoes.
Lots of trips to various bins. DS3 has put 2 out for collection. I want to be up early to clear more of the yard as the men are delivering the new WM (I got an earful when I told them that I hadn't paid for unpacking, installation and taking the old one away - it told me I could choose those options at checkout and then didn't give me the options.) I have been outside today but got cold very quickly - I emptied several containers that had filled with water, pouring them through the garden sieve to catch any leaves.
Nothing taken to the cs today but DS3 took up one of the boxes of his stuff (I had it out ready when he came down) and a wipe clean tablecloth to use on one set of drawers upstairs. He was complaining about the lack of electrical sockets in the back bedroom. There are 2 double sockets so I told him where they were (he has just been using one extension bar and didn't even know where that was plugged in).
Grateful for an expected delivery (should be able to wrap up most of the presents), getting things done, delicious meals from old veg.7 -

Hey all,
Still stuck on NSD #8 and I definitely won’t get to my target of 12 this month as will need to spend at some point this week to send a couple of Xmas cards to family abroad. Will be going to visit an uncle tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours and giving him a couple of items he might want/like, so hopefully a tiny bit of decluttering there. Need to do a bit of finance organising as owe DB1 some money so would like to sort that in the next day or so, and also want to finalise my budget for December (mostly done but just need to double check my figures). Hoping to move Mum’s clothes out of her chest of drawers (clothes will need to go to DSIL1 at some point as she wants to make some memory bears with them but she’s going through some things atm with my DNephew so will be holding off until it’s calmed down for her) so we can break the drawers down to go to the tip on Friday - drawers are buckled but Mum never flagged this up with us so didn’t know until I was putting her clean clothes away a few days after she passed. Need to go round the house and work out what other bits we want to take to the tip on Friday, hopefully might be a chance to clear a handful of unwanted bits.
Thankful for a lovely dinner tonight which has provided extra portions that I can freeze and use while DB1 is away next week, getting some unwanted wool taken to local craft shop for them to use for their craft classes and being able to use £25 worth of MrAs vouchers for shopping today.
Hope you’re feeling better soon @beanielou and that everyone else is ok, sending hugs to anyone who needs them.

Hoping the ABs are kicking in @beanielou?How fab to have a definite date for the builders @grandmanerd - means you can relax and enjoy Christmas now 😊
@f0xh0les - that boiler man would be on thin ice with me by now! 😉😂 (I’d have let him with an un-mopped floor - they trek dirt in anyway - and the washing everywhere! He’ll have seen worse! 😉).
Hello, and good luck to everyone else 😊
I’m going into December with a new job to go to - I start on the 9th (subject to the contract turning up etc.), so that’s 70 calendar days / 10 weeks between jobs. Not bad considering I took the first three weeks off deliberately to rest and recover a bit! 😊KKAs at 15.07.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
- OPs to mortgage = £11,338 Interest saved £5225 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030
Read 39 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 27th July

@KajiKita he will be here at 10... or so he said when I sent him a text at 7am.
They all knock off at 3.30 anyway so I consider their office hours 7- 3 and am happy to start messaging before daylight hours.
Massive congratulations on the job. I am sure the shorter commute will be priceless at this time of year.
This time next week will be 4th December already, so I really need to get a move on with wrapping truffles for the advent calendars. I bought the coloured foil squares with survey vouchers about 4 years ago and they just keeps going.
I have not started my shopping yet. It would help if the boys wanted things with proper names that actually meant something. Technology. Pah.
