My dear turtles! You have heard of Stoptober... I now give you NO!vember.
This month is all about saying “no” to things (objects, concepts, events, activities, people) that do not add to your life, in order to make space for the things you really need/want. This month, reject energy-draining events or obligations, say no to unnecessary spending, to eating out when it involves food that does not nourish the body or when the cost is prohibitive. Reserve the right to get rid of possessions that weigh you down and refuse to add more purchases to your life.
In the words of @apple_muncher back in November 2015 "Dedicate yourself and be ruthless for the next 30 days. Work out what you truly need and learn to separate your needs from your wants.
We are bombarded by advertising that tells us that we need to continuously spend more and more, to acquire more and more, in order to be better people. DO NOT BELIEVE THE LIES"
Some people find it easy to say no. Are you one of those people? If you’re not, or even if you are, practise saying "no" with me this month!
Decluttering the mental space:
What is on the agenda in November? What or who will you say “no” to this month? Identify anything that drains your energy, is impeding your goals or that you just don’t enjoy anymore.
Practise the “fast no” and the “slow yes” i.e. say “no” to people first; most of the time you can always change your mind later! (the life changing magic of not giving a f*ck by S.Knight)
What habit/s could you remove this month to make your life better?
Decluttering the physical space:
Get rid - identify ten things that you can declutter and/or sell
Implement 5 min tidying bursts - you decide how many you do per day/week
Goals and positive changes...
NSDs - How can you organise your month to maximise NSDs? Identify a target that works for your goals. Fuel and medical costs do not lose an NSD.
By saying "no", what are you creating space for in your life?
Who's with me?
