Hello turtles, coming back after a few busy days. Last I had to go to the office both Tuesday and Thursday, which felt like the entire week, and Friday morning I was leaving early for my weekend in York with a friend. Absolutely loved the city, it has a fabulous vibe and so much history, we walked a lot and had a lovely and very relaxed time. We were really good with spends, didn't over indulge on food, but were very satisfied, however I went a bit above craft budget when visiting the wool fair on Saturday: it was mainly because I purchased 3 Christmas presents, so I don't feel too guilty about it. Arrived back home on Sunday night, and had a relaxed evening with OH and the dog, both very happy to see me.
Yesterday was in the office, and I am very grateful I only had to go once this week, as I have been feeling mildly unwell today, which might be because I have been having lots of vegetable soups in the last 3 days, too much fiber sometimes doesn't agree very well with my IBS tummy, or could be anything else, such as a bug or even just the cooler weather, or maybe my body telling me I need to rest a bit more. Have been sipping lemon and ginger tea this evening, hopefully it will help. So tonight I said NO to line dancing, which makes me a bit sad, but a bit of rest comes first.
I am happy that today I did 2 loads of washing of Summer clothing, which I hung to dry in the windows so they could soak in a bit of sun. I still have 1 to complete the first bag, then I only have one more bag and the Summer clothes will all be sorted, hoping by next week to have everything boxed and put in the storage under the bed or on top of the wardrobe. OH has been building shelves in his new cupboard, and is now ready to (finally) put his things away, so we are now closer to have everything sorted.
Still need to order the blinds for the bedroom window and the wood for the bed headboard, but it will have to wait until December.
Yesterday was NSD #5 - not an NSD today as I had to order some parts to complete the storage in the cupboard, but I hopefully I can recover in the next couple of days,
Today I am grateful for a calmer week, the sun neatly drying my clothes, and for OH finally sorting his things in the cupboard.

Finally have got to NSD #4. It’s been a spendy few days, mainly from specific budgets but it’s been annoying sticking on NSD #3 for so long. I had a lovely time away with my friends at the weekend but have come back feeling pretty run-down so have had a very quiet few days since the weekend.Tomorrow will have to do some spending and have got some decluttering bits I’d like to do if I have the energy.
I’m thankful for time with good friends, lots of hugs and having the time to be able to recover from my time away.7 -
Work today, so it will be NSD #5I am saying NO to cooking this evening, as we have half a fish pie made yesterday and a naan bread pizza and HM coleslaw in the fridge. We will see which we fancy later. Whatever we don't choose will be tomorrow's dinner. We also have chocolate beetroot cake, enough for dessert both days. I always try to avoid cooking on work days by making things in advance. OH cooks sometimes but only if a roast (and I do the veg), or something and chips. OK maybe once a week, but I prefer something less fatty most of the time.I have an eb*y parcel to post before work, so a few more small things will be leaving the houseMy decluttering efforts must extend to the freezers, as both are stuffed. Main issue is over buying, myself as well as OH, but not only that. He is visiting a friend on Saturday and will return laden with gifted pheasants. So game pie will have to be on the menu in the near future! I made a tentative meal plan this week, and it mostly worked. At least it dissuaded OH from wanting to buy tempting things for dinner. I will make the effort to do this weekly.10

Volunteering day today, made a real effort with my appearance. Face on and soft oversized jumper is cosy and flattering.
Shunted 3 menfolk out of the house already, the other two will hide in their beds like mushrooms 🍄🍄🍄. Nothing I can do about that.
Nearly the weekend! Good luck today Turtles.

Today, I bagged another no-spend day - NSD6 - thanks to working from home, lunch at my mum’s, and steering clear of too much time online. I kept the purse strings firmly shut!
I said no to free tickets for a musical from my dad. Not that I wasn’t grateful—it’s just that we’re already jam-packed with plans next year, and our budget’s focused on holidays and other activities. Plus, the show itself didn’t quite float my boat.
Still feeling a bit achy from body balance earlier in the week, but I’m off to yoga tonight, so fingers crossed it’ll help ease off some aches… or maybe I’ll be hobbling around tomorrow.
Feeling very grateful again today. Woke up to the usual cold, dark morning, and couldn’t help but appreciate the benefits of working from home (although they are attempting to get us into the office more). Whether I’m at my desk, on the couch with a cosy throw, or snuggled up in bed with my electric blanket on, I love having the freedom to work wherever suits my mood and energy. I think I would really struggle to go back into a workplace full-time.
Also, I’m grateful for free books from the library, for a warm and cosy home, and for my electric blanket… and tea!

Today I am grateful for Pip doing all day at school, for dh being out for most of the day so I could spread out my crafting stuff and get a few things finished, for Thunderbirds, for fairy lights.

Yesterday I came home to the fire being lit & home made Cajun spiced plaited bread 😋 It almost dulled the frustration of my sewing machine not doing as it should later on!!
After work today, DS1 held one end whilst I plaited wool for the knitted baubles I've made. Managed a couple of rows of knitting too. DH had brought in my spare sewing machine, so I got last night's job finished & 2 more.
Grateful for my DH, coming home to a warm house, spare sewing machine & managing to get jobs done, also that tomorrow is fri-yay (it's been a long week at work)Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
