Back from my meal out!It was harder than I thought to stick to my plan but it’s all learning isn’t it?! I think I need to realistically accept that meals out may derail progress for the day but it’s just one day out of seven. So today I’ve had:
B - porridge with apple
HEA, HEB and 1 syn for sugar
Lunch:
Starter - really nice beetroot arancini on a bed of beetroot hummus
Main - roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, glazed parsnips, carrots, cabbage, gravy, a pig in blanket and a bit of cauliflower cheese (and cranberry sauce). It was huge! I didn’t eat it all, only a couple of bits of potato, gave half my Yorkshire pudding to Monkey etc.
I only drank water and didn’t have dessert though so that’s good.
No idea how I’d work out syns for that lot!! Do I just not for today and get back to it tomorrow?!
Dont think I’ll need to eat again, if I get hungry I’ll have something free like a banana or I have cold meat in the fridge.
EDIT - my dad very sweetly brought me a Lindt advent calendar out of the blue (we don’t generally exchange gifts). I split the first one, which was tiny, with Red.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Just draw the line and get back on it tomorrow @Bluegreen143. Might be worth cutting back syns a bit the rest of the week. If you do that I'm sure you'll still lose something.0

Sorry AWOL again, family (drama) is taking up all my time. Trying to step back a bit but it’s difficult situations. Anyhoo well done to the losers, some fab loses. I made group yesterday and got a STS. Bit disappointed but been here so many times I know to just keep plodding on.
Got loads of body magic yesterday cleaning and putting up the tree. I’m usually running around a couple of days before Christmas so this is the earliest ever for me.
This week sees the start of the Christmas lunches and nights out. I don’t like the usual Christmas offerings so food wise, I should be Ok. Alcohol will be where the syns rise!
Dinner was mince and potatoes with loads of veg and I’m stuffed.1 -
Afternoon all, the morning has whizzed by as I've been working on my sundress for my holiday. I've got the bodice part done as far as I can do before starting on the skirt. Think that will take a while as need to make pleats and put pockets in the side seams. Really don't know why I decided on this particular dress as there are lots of "new to me" things to do on it plus it has buttons all down the front so will have to cover 10 button moulds with the dress fabric and make 10 buttonholes! Have never done anything with pleats before. I have done pockets but it was a very long time ago and certainly never needed to do so many buttonholes!
Have done a machine load of washing and got it out on the line as the weather was lovely this morning. We have blue sky and a little bit of wind but it's since clouded over. Will leave it another hour or so and then bring it in and put on the airer if necessary to finish off.
DD1 is coming over this afternoon as she has the day off work because she needed to use up her leave this month or lose it!
Today's plan:
B - Weetabix, frozen strawberries, blueberries and cherries - HEA2; HEB; S; F
L - roast pork dinner - P; S; F
D - butter chicken and rice (from freezer) - P; S; F; 2.5
HEA1 and 2 - milk
HEB - Weetabix
Syns - butter 2.5
Have a good day everyone.

It's infuriating when you know you've stayed on plan but it doesn't show on the scales @Jellybaby.👿
Glad you enjoyed your Sunday lunch @Bluegreen143 but, as you said, it's just one meal so get back on plan and move on.
I know SW like us to fit syns in daily but life's not like that IMO so I agree with @joedenise, if you can save syns before eating out or rein back afterwards it works. Well it's worked for us!🤣 The only thing I've never tried is roll over HEXs.
I wouldn't bother trying to work out the syns from the meal yesterday. There are syn values for some chain restaurants on the website and some meals are obviously SW friendly. Some people use 1 syn to 20 calories (IIRC) as a rule of thumb if the calories are listed, but it's best to just enjoy and move on.
So far today I've had my SW breakfast (porridge with fruit) and about to have lunch. I'll have my usual Monday, cold meat, LO veg and pickles. Tonight we're out for another Christmas meal. It's actually in a wine bar that does things like tapas so I'm pretty sure it won' be traditional turkey with all the trimmings. Wine syns will be consumed.😁
Tomorrow I'll be back on plan, next meal out is on Thursday.1 -
I did a cheeky mid week weigh in (I know, I know, you aren’t meant to) just to reassure myself, and happily I’m the best part of 2lb less than I weighed on Thursday morning so the meal out clearly hasn’t damaged things ☺️. I’ve been between 4-7 syns most week days so I suppose it’s balanced out.Today:
B - fat free Skyr, pear, banana
0.5 syn for 1tsp maple syrup
L - pasta with leftover cooked chicken, feta, cherry tomatoes, green beans
2 syn for 1tsp olive oil, HEA for 45g feta
S - some melon and nectarine slices
D - tomato & lentil soup, a wholemeal pitta (half with cured beef & salad, half with leftover chicken & salad)
1 syn for 25g lightest Philly, HEB for wholemeal pitta
That’s only 3.5 syn today so I’ll probably just eat my advent calendar chocolate myself instead of splitting it with DH 🙊😁
Oh I was pleased as had a friend and her two kids for dinner and it was nice to be able to feed people and still feel on plan! I made a fruit platter and totally free soup, then had loads of sandwich toppings and types of bread so everyone chose their own (my friend contributed sandwich stuff too) so I just chose a wholemeal pitta and free cold meat, with 25g lightest Philly I managed to avoid mayo!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Afternoon all, it seems to be lunchtime most days before I get on here! Had a waxing appointment this morning at 9.30 and then did some shopping. Didn't need much but had to go as were on our final carton of milk - no way am I running out of milk!
Have treated myself to a yoghurt maker so have the first batch in the machine now and should be ready by this evening to go into the fridge for a couple of days before using as per instructions. The starter yoghurt I used was actually quite sour (by my standard) but DH loved it! If it's too sour for me when it's done I'll just need to add some honey or maple syrup and syn it!
Today's plan:
B - mushroom omelette - P; S
L - liver, bacon, onions, mash, peas - P; S; F; 1
D - LF burger, onions, gherkins, soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
HEA - milk
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - gravy (very small amount as don't really like it!) 1; burger 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

Quiet day today on here. Hope you're all out enjoying yourselves! 😁
Do you ever use sweetener @joedenise. I've probably used about 3 tubs in the 10+ years I've been doing SW. I use it for pickled red cabbage and a bit in tomato sauce and very occasionally in yogurt as it makes it taste more like cream for strawberries or raspberries in season.
I was going to post that I'd had a syn free day but I just had two small pieces of cheese that weren't HEA (dolcelatte and wensleydale with cranberry). Yum! 😋
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
D- salmon (P), veggie hash (F, S), green stuff (S)
Syns - cheese?1 -
Hello all, busy day working in the office then I went out Christmas shopping after dinner. Stayed well on plan though.B - strawberry overnight oats topped with banana - 0.5 HEA, HEB, 0.5 syn for maple syrup
L - leftover lentil & tomato soup with a picky plate of cured beef, 30g cheddar, grapes, nectarines and melon
HEA
D - air fryer salmon, air fryer chips, huge salad with leaves, spring onion, radish, grated beetroot, cucumber
3 syn for olive oil
Snack - 1/2 of a tiny advent calendar choc as I’m sharing them with DH
1 syn I think
4.5 syns today. Feeling quite peckish now as tbh dinner wasn’t very nice and I didn’t eat it all (normally I am a good cook but we can’t win them all and neither the chips nor salmon were all that tasty 🤣). Might use my other 1/2 HEA to have 15g cheddar before bed as a nibble 🤣.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018
