  • I’m late  posting my Thursday result because I completely forgot.
I’ve had a great week and lost 1.5lbs. Mainly because I’ve been so busy with work that I’ve missed lunches, grabbed fruit and even gone to bed without tea because I’ve been so tired. My husband has been away with work so I’ve only had myself and the dogs to worry about. Probably a false result that will catch up on me but hey ho.
next week is all planned and shopped and I can believe it’s December tomorrow.
I have 2 weeks with out social engagements and I’m going to try really hard to knuckle down, ignore the festive foodie bits that seem to be everywhere - in shops, at work and in my cupboard.
I love reading how you are all doing, even if I don’t always reply or comment.
So, as it says in the thread title, still time to lose - let’s crack on and give it our best shot for a bit longer.

Morning all, WI with STS happy with that as bad week! Have realised I am in target bubble though 🤗

Dr rang me at work 🙄 said you’re at work aren’t you? 😵‍💫 luckily I could talk! Anyway it ISN’T the big c 😮‍💨 but I do have a 31mm gall stone! He seemed to think that would please me, but lots of people have them (his words) and mine gives me no symptoms (my words). Still had no reason for my symptoms though so being referred back to gastro! Our hospital was on news as having highest waiting time so not holding my breath for appointment anytime soon!

When I got home I read the report on NHS app, it also said I have atrophied pancreas which I looked up & the symptoms it produces are the same as I have! The Dr never mentioned this though so I have no idea if this is serious or treatable until see gastro!
Had a bad night Wednesday which lead to bad day Thursday so off work then not eating much yesterday! Not eaten yet today either!

Well enough about my health! Does anyone have a 4 tier heated clothes airer they could recommend? I have a winged one which is a bit crap as both wings have collapsed & I have to prop them up! It also takes up a lot of space especially with all hubby’s equipment in our small living room 😤. So thought a tower airer would be better! Any recommendations would be great, thanks in advance!
    Have a good weekend all!
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

i have a Lakeland heated airer. No clue how to describe it though. It’s a heated airer.

@Bluegreen143. One of my friends is slightly shorter than you & has the same problem as you. In that every pound shows.

I have had a bug from hell & a UTI at the same time. I don’t feel well at all.

All I have being doing is drinking lucozade which of course is loaded with calories.

Afternoon all, very grey and cloudy today but at least the rain held off.

Well done @Matron_Midge on your loss.  Good to lose at this time of year where we all know we’re likely to gain!

Good to see you are in target range @TakeItEazy.  That sounds like massive gall stones - hard to believe that it isn’t causing you any symptoms.  Do hope you don’t have to wait too long for an appendectomy for gastro.

Have had a lovely lunch today but not as SW friendly as I was hoping.  We ended up in a Nepalese restaurant and had the lunchtime specials for £15 each - of course the drinks cost more !  Think I’m going to try to stay virtually syn free all week again!

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Well done @Matron_Midge. 👏👏👏 December can be a difficult month for SW so we tend to work on 'good when you can' in between the festive meals. I try to stick to SW friendly meals around the eating out.

I'm glad you had a better result from the tests than you feared @TakeItEazy. If you remember, my DH had a flare up of gallstones back in June when he'd never had a problem before. He was meant to be operated on in the autumn but he's still waiting. ☹️ Fortunately few symptoms since but he'd love to get it out of the way.

From my knowledge of anatomy, when I was at school, I'm not surprised you had digestive issues if your pancreas isn't working properly. The pancreas secretes enzymes to digest food. I'm surprised that your GP didn't mention that. Have you got a follow up appointment? 🤔

Meant to post that Aldi have baby sweetcorn on Super 6 at the moment. I'm always puzzled why it's Speed food when tinned sweetcorn isn't or corn on the cob. I've added some to tonight's dinner.

We had a lovely meal with DD2 last night. I think mine was fairly SW friendly. I had a prawn and crab salad starter and very lean lamb with celeriac mash and spinach for my main.

    Back on plan today. 😁

B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
    D- sausage casserole (P, S), pasta (F)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, BGTY sausages 2, weekend wine 👍
  • Maman, I think the reason the corn on the cob/sweetcorn isn’t speed is it’s very high sugar for a veg, the baby corn is so immature the sugar hasn’t developed yet though so the sugar/fibre ratio is different. I think that’s roughly it but could be wrong. That’s why I don’t like baby corn, I don’t like the taste and prefer the yummy sweetness of fully grown!

  • Meals today:

B - fat free Skyr, honey, banana & raspberries
    1 syn for 1tsp honey

L - smoked salmon on wholemeal toast with a rocket/cucumber/red onion/spring onion salad dressed in lemon juice & salt
1 syn for lightest Philly / HEB for wholemeal bread

    S - apple & cheddar
    HEA for cheddar

D - curry with chicken/cauliflower/green beans/peppers (sauce had onion/tomato/carrot/pepper all whizzed up too) and rice
0.5 syn for 0.5tsp sugar (used 2tsp for the pot but had about 1/4 of it myself)

Only 2.5 syns used today but planning my usual couple of Saturday night drinks 😁.

Haven’t been for a walk today as we’ve been flat out trying to finish the kids’ bedrooms refurb and decorate for Christmas at the same time - the place is now a tip but we are in a good place for Red to finish off the rooms tomorrow while I’m out for lunch with the kids. Just about to get off my bum and tidy up the living room at least as there are decorations and pins needles everywhere!

Looks like you're going to have to hit the Percy Pigs this week @bubbs!🤣

Thanks for the info on the sweetcorn @Bluegreen143. I don't have a sweet tooth so hadn't noticed a lack of sweetness. I like to add the baby corn to things like stir fries and veggie chilli so probably would be masked by herbs and spices anyway.

I've had prawns for lunch again today. I just love them.😋 I hadn't taken any out to defrost but I went to Lidl earlier and they had some YS so it would have been rude not to buy them.

It's really mild today, rained earlier but stopped now. It's 15 degrees which is apparently the warmest December 1st on record for here.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, 2 eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
D- chicken (P), potatoes (F), carrots, cauli, broccoli and cabbage (S)
Syns- LTL mayo 1, granule gravy 4, weekend wine😁

Back home again after our couple of days away in the motorhome.  We actually came home before lunch as the weather was really dull and looked like rain so didn't really fancy going anywhere for a walk!  We've decided to try having our main meal at lunchtime this month as we seem to eat less in the evenings that way.  I've done the menu plan for this month with main meals at lunchtime but have to see how it goes.  Can always swap the 2 meals if we feel it isn't working out that way!

Pleased to say @maman that the new battery worked really well and we were able to use the fan heater to warm up the van and also to use an electric blanket on the bed.  Definitely much warmer than using the gas heating.

As we didn't eat either of the planned evening meals over the weekend we're having both today!  So today's plan:

    B - sausage sandwich - HEB; 4.5
    L - HM faggots, mash, veg - P; S; F
    D - lasagne (used savoury mince in it) - HEA2; P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese (used Primula Light for the sauce)
    HEB - bread
    Syns - sausages 2; LF speed 2.5

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.
